Next most likely will be high elves vs chaos. Followed by beastmen vs wood elves. Lastly empire which i mean empire is at war with everyone, including itself at that point. For all we know could do a nuln, marrienburg, and middenheim

Honestly the grand list in Ravening Hordes are good for Night Goblin and Black Orc lists. The two armies do something different to the main list which is cool. And I'd be amazed if we didn't see more campaign books ala Middle-earth.
The Stone and River Trolls are Michael Perry mate. Only the Hag is by Trish Carden. The other Perry did most/all of the Savage Orcs. As regards the choice of lists and whether it's an appeal to the grogs, or chosing not to 'cross the streams' - think the answer has to be both, no? There's not a single picture of a Night Goblin or Savage Orc in the main books and, as you rightly point out, you can ALREADY make a list that exactly mimics the last time either had a list (6th edition) without the need for anything special. Lastly, traditionally, Savage Orcs are from the Southlands and Lustria. The Badlands are where common Orcs and Goblins are most, well, common.
I know people might love these old sculpts, but the reason fantasy died is because GW never updated a lot of the models, if they updated these models it would be more popular then AoS, especially after Total War: Warhammer, what bothers me the most is that they don't update the models, but DO update the prices, giving less reason for a lot of people to buy these old models. When Old World was announced I thought they were going to make new sculpts for all the old models, I was really dissapointed when they didn't, I would kill for updated Orcs, who look like those in Total War, what I would give for a new Boss Orc like those in TW, or a cool new Warrior Priest. But I can't justify starting a new army of old models at those prices, especially when GW could just give up on it if they get bad sales, and with old models at those prices people aren't really going to be flocking to get them. After what they just did with the culling of AoS I'm scared to buy any model, let alone old models brought back at modern prices. It's sad, because I loved the world of fantasy, though I would have prefered OW was set at the same time, I loved those characters, and I hate prequels, since you know what happens, and in this case it's not good. I would have prefered this was an alternate timeline where the End Times failed or didn't happen at all, even if it's a prequel but they hint that in this timeline the future can change, though knowing their writing that might make it worse, especially if Dan Abnett writes it, Saturnine was the worst book I've ever read and ruined the entire Horus Heresy. But if they get a competent writer who cares about Warhammer and not just making their favorite side overpowered and boring while making all the other factions lame and incompetent, it could be good.
I agree with most of what you said. Not updating the models is a really silly move. The models don't look good and only appeal to people that have nostalgia for them. People are already making 3d prints for this game that look a million times better.
The Troll Hag’s whole kit is geared for combat. She may have bad WS but she is pretty scary when she gets near your units and her casting is subpar anyway
Would be nice with a future, additional Arcane journal.. With Savage Orcs and Night Goblins.. it can easily be done too. And do it while re-releasing Brian Nelson´s multi-part Night Gobbos from late 5th Ed. And re-box the plastic Savage orcs for the Old World?
This focuses very much on the Greenskins (and adjacent creatures) of the badlands. I think there's room for another Arcane journal with armies of infamy from further up north: The Night Goblin tribes of the various mountain ranges and the more feral (possibly sneaky) savage Orc and forest Goblin tribes of the Empire's (and Bretonnia + Kislev ofc) woods.
I like what it is so far. There's part of me that still hopes they decide to release the rules restriction on newer modals, but I doubt it. Overalls I'm enjoying this edition even if it is more 6th.
So - the product marketing strategy behind old world is crap - basically “specialist games” can’t or more likely won’t write rules for armies available in age of sigmar If I was CEO - someone is fired … this doesn’t nothing but stop sales for people looking to cross over.
Audio's fixed. :) Thanks for your patience!
I hope we get a night goblin list in the future with squiglobba and colossal squig coming back
Can't wait to bring da Waaagh! out to the studio for a game!
Me too!!!!!
Thanks for the review Ash! Excited to make a Nomadic Waaagh list!
What we truly need is rules for the old 6th ed snotling army!
I was NOT interested in playing any O&G in Old World...
...but now that I can have a troll army 😏

Yeah someone pointed out the shields so far have been forces that match the release 😅 Very cheeky right under our noses lol

💯
I currently have 18 trolls (6 of each type), ogres & a giant…so I’m thinking of how few actual greens skins in can have in an O&G army :)
With a Troll Hag basically none...

Sounds like a Bonegrinder will literary grind the bones of a Dwarf crossbow unit in line hammer formation.

The algorithm is screwing with your videos. I always watch your book reviews and RUclips pushed s&n's video. I had to look yours up manually.
It’s because I took one down and then put one up from an audio error lol.

Deep love for the Aly Morrison trolls. 💖
Cheers for the review Ash

I really wanna try this game out! Wish they would release Skaven or Chaos
They have legacy lists for skaven
A new plastic Slayer kit for the dwarfs is what’s going to determine whether or not I buy into The Old World.

So disappointed about Spider Riders and Savage orcs missing. :/ So no Old World for me.
Both of those are in the basic orc list in ravening hordes book
