Mounts being extra stats makes me imagine the model losing a wound, the rider dying and the horse picking up the sword with it’s teeth to continue fighting 😂
30:05 "I like that they got rid of the heraldry stuff" Clearly, not a traditional Bretonnian player. We love the heraldry, it's one of the major draws of the army. It's like the removal of animosity for greenskins, just making the army more generic, I think
99% of my bret knights have free hand helerdy (not the best painter but an attempt was made). They did stat in in of designer tables that both were "allowed"
The Bretonnian Exiles brings to mind the 3rd edition WFB Bretonnian list. They could get guns, Brigands (which were very much like the unit presented here), Bombards, crossbows, and just a whole pile of things that would be gone by the next time they showed up in 5th.
4:30 I sincerely think I’m the reason why Dukes have such great stats. I argued for the longest time on T9A forums that Bretonnian Lords with the Grail Virtue should have a better statline than a run of the mill lord, similar to how a Grail Knight has better stats to a Knight of the Realm, and constantly posted that exact statline repeatedly. I even suggested the Bretonnian Lords be split up as Dukes and Barons.
I think the errantry crusade list is going to be my focus. its everything I wanted! And I can take some additional Empire cav for even MORE cav? Yes Please!
I'll be using Wargames Atlantic Conquistadors as Border Princes Brigands. Great to finally have a real use for that box (and thus a reason to buy it). Now to find a nice bombard to match...
Thanks for these uploads! I ordered my copies of these books, can't wait to get ahold of them myself. I'm particularly excited to see if they release a new model for the Sergeant-at-Arms because I intend to run a peasant-focused army.
Thanks for the video! So, could someone field an entire army of exiles, or do they have to be a max of 25% of the base Bret. Army (allies)? Thanks again.
I actually disagree, I think it’s a shame they moved away from the 6th Ed style Lance. It was much easier to use and interact with rules-wise (and meant you didn’t have to make funky looking movement trays!); and it was really good!
Thanks for the great videos! Since you seem very involved in this, do you maybe know which willl be the go-to forums for TOW ? I've seen TGA and EEFL have TOW sectons now, but was wondering if there's a place where TOW is the main focus
@@imalu5757 not sure, I'm oldschool i guess :) But TheGrandAlliance for example does seem super popular among AoS players, with >250k posts. And i think oldschool forums are just perfect for tabletops to discuss rules, armylists, tactics, paint/sculpt stuff.. dunno if facebook or snapchat can do the same :D
@@gabrielecacciola3307 yeah well. the lance is worse than in 5th and 6th. It is kind of pointless now to use the lance anyway. You have flanks now like in 6th edition but wont gain extra ranks like in 6th. So you have bigger and weaker unit if you go more then 6 Knights then before. It seems there ios absolutely no reason to go bigger than 6 Knights anymore.
Elisse is basically a lvl 3 prophetess with a special rule while Cecil is an anti monster foot paladin (not the hugest threat). Green knight looks strong but you cant use him willy nilly. i think its fine tbh
Special Characters have not been pay to win for a long while. 8th edition was fine. 6th-7th was fine if you had strong tactical skills. 4th and 5th were broken AF though.

If this isn’t how it works then I don’t wanna play Old World 😂
Warhammer Dark Souls
He says "Blessing of the Lady" so fast it sounds like "Busty Lady" and I see nothing wrong with that.

Agreed. Dumb down to make it easier for people with smaller attention spans IMO
Paint the minis however you like?
animosity was a terrible rule. Always has been.
@omnivision616 yes, and it was meant to be bad. For fun not meta

Nice dude! Leading the charge so to speak :) :)

Pretty excited to bring out my old green knight model those new rules look fun, good chance to get models i could never get when i was young to.
The fact that you can use any lore of magic with the Exiles just makes my imagination race. Mousillon army project, perhaps?
The Red Duke!
Ah I missed this stuff. Glad it is back
Chapters would be really helpful
7:28 that is some sort of a bummer. The original lance formation had no flanks. Only front and rear.
I get why they didn't, but I'm a little sad they didn't bring back the Arrowhead formation for bowmen. That was fun.
Do you HAVE to use the lance formation? Or can you go normal like all others?

Set playback speed to 75% is a godsend
Im glad they made the Lance more workable it really effected the force
To get rank bonus into combat resulation you need 10 models and only last rank of 4 will provide you +1 for ranks.

question, does it say in the book if the virtues count as magic items? or can a paladin for example, get a 70 point virtue + 50 points of magic items?
Thank for the video!
So there are no special characters outside the 3 in the extra book? Who is the King of Bretonnia and we cant bring him?
You always convince me I want to buy GE stuff

People still use forums?

Lance is back baby!!! Wow it's been like 30 years for that.
But in a worse way.
For a reason I'd say...

I can't make it out : what base size is the bombard? 😢
50 × 50
I was so happy that special characters were out of the game... But along came the pay to win books. :(
They're not nearly as powerful as they used to be
