FYI - The circle to search is FROM Google/Android, not Samsung's. They have an early start (by about a week) due to all the advertising, but it's availble on Pixel 7/8 now. So Google doesn't need to "fight back" :) If you want to talk about that, you should talk about the AI features from Pixel also which will give context on where the gap is. Keep up the good work!
Owned both and swap allot....the P8P is just better. Its camera kills Samsung. Except in zoom. And I get the same battery life with each. Samsung display is brighter and adjusts better but google is no slouch. I found both have zero lag, heat, connectivity issues. I do think this guy is more Samsung biased.
As an overall phone s24 ultra is better.. its just not the camera.. the perfromance snapdragon 8gen 3 eats tensor chip any day.. the battery life.. which far better than the pixel 8 pro
@@gameday1479in which situation does the power of the Snapdragon blow the Tensor out of the park? Please don't say Benchmarks. In reality and with the things you do with your phone it doesn't matter.
As a former Pixel user/fan, what I dislike is Google's planned feature disparity between its concurrent models. That plus region-specific AI features which kills a lot of its purposes. I had both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7a. I love both but as updates went by, it was clear the non-Pro models were getting less features. Even something like the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7/7a feel somewhat neglected recently. I'm also from Brunei so half the AI features are not available so that's on Google too for poor implementation globally.
Between these two… I’d take the S24, mainly for the longevity and polish. I know Google is making big promises on support with the Pixel, but I think Samsung has a stronger track record at this point, and the stronger hardware will likely age more gracefully anyway.
Don't forget that Google can't even give some features the 8 Pro is getting to the base 8. Not expecting much from Google for the next 6.5 years (not like I care since I don't own either devices)
And right now the Pixel 8 Pro 256gb is on sale for $809 USD. The Google website says it'll give me $150 for my 4a5g trade-in (only like $52 if getting the standard Pixel 8). I'd like to give Samsung another try (only previous one I had was the S3), but it's just too much more money - even for just the S24+.
Didn't even answer the question from the title. "Go for what you can afford" is not the answer to "Is the price differnce worth it?". In this case the answer is a straight up no.
The problems with pixels is that the hardware is always cheap. They have poor reception, they over heat, charging ports for bad and screens fail. Pixels are not even worth more than $500 due to poor components and quality control. So, there is no comparison.
There is a major camera comparison in terms of Video and Expert Raw missing. With that, the S24 Ultra has a more well rounded camera system compared to the Pixel.
Not really. What the s24 Ultra has like every other samsung is overprocessing which makes the photos don't even look like what you are capturing. Especially on zoom you get major oversharpening that even gets forms, lines and symbols wrong at times, what you end up with in these cases is nonsense.
S24 Ultra is an easy win. Even Nothing OS is more fun than Pixel Ui and has floating windows and cloned apps. OneUi is more complete: things like Samsung Routines are powerful. A lot of Pixel users diss other Ui but at the end, if Pixel Ui and P8 Pro were that good, Sales would be a lot more important: sales improve but it should be more. If Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are not a huge improvement…it will be hard for Google…
@@engineerengineer2218 no that's not close enough. The point is that's not a fact and misleading. In 2025 and may be after 2025 are two different things. State" facts", not "close enoughs"
The face unlock on the Pixel is unquestionably better than the one on the S24, because it can be used for secure payments and passwords, just like on the iPhone.
Of course in some stuff like battery and performance the s24 ultra smashes the p8p away but omg was the rest of this vid biased. First of all the price difference matters alot second a godamn pixel 7a could beat the s24 ultra in terms of camera... And it has in countless blind tests. The optic sensor sure is worse than the ultrasonic but its better with greasy hands(from experience) and the bright light isnt noticeable at all. Like really has never blinded me. When it comes to face id sure i guess you could say the s24 ultra works better in low light i personally havent got a chance to test it but the p8p dpes the same thing and has a more secure face id. It uses the ai features to tell when a photo is being used and also uses depth perception to tell if its a photo. Other than that both are great phones and while the s24 ultra deserves to be more expensive than the p8p it doesnt mean it has better price2performance. Not to mention the p8p design is so much nicer. Its got a nicer matte backglass (wand even if ot had 3 less colours they are way nicer than the s24u)that hides fingerprints way better than the s24u and the camera bump is nice because it doesnt wobble around when you press it while its lying down. Ownly problem ive had with it is when using a wireless car charger and having a case on the wireless charger is too far away to charge unless i position it perfectly. Both are great phones and on the end it comes down to preference. But my god was this a bias video.

I got the Pixel Pro 128GB secondhand for under $700 USD ($668). Never used, the screen plastic still on it. You can't get bargains like this with the Galaxy 24 Ultra, even the Pixel Pro regular price is low compared to the S24 U. The phone is very good, but nobody wants it!
I got a pixel 8 pro,256gb for £600, in as new condition to.
