Rob Low joked about Swayze trying to fit this song in to The Outsiders... But, the jokes on all of them because this song made Swayze one of the highest selling music artists of all time. Corner stone of the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, and that album is up there with Michael Jackson and ACDC and Led Zeppelin's most popular albums.
"I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you." Dirty Dancing My favorite line from the movie
I like, “And you can whack it all you wanna while I hula all the day away...(and)...but it’s worth it when they watch her shake her grass...four...five...”
Dude could do comedy as a drag queen with Wesley Snipes in To Wong Foo. He could be a badass in Roadhouse. He could play a villain in Point Break. He could do drama in Ghost. He could play a heartthrob in Dirty Dancing. He could dance, he could sing. A rare talent.
This is still one of my favorites!! The biggest thing from it that stuck with me watching as a child when Baby confronts her dad. We are still fighting that warped ideology. She made me feel it when she said it was wrong to teach her everyone deserved a fair shot when you only mean that for people like you & not literally everyone.
If you haven’t seen this movie, please do. Also, Ghost. There is a scene with Patrick & Demi Moore making pottery that will have you looking for a cigarette.
Do yourself a favor and watch the Dirty Dancing DVD with outtakes. They cut out one of the STEAMIEST dirty dances between Johnny and Baby. www.amazon.com/Dirty-Dancing-30th-Anniversary-Collectors/dp/B01MXMOG51
You seriously need to watch Dirty Dancing. It’s a GREAT movie. My 13 year old granddaughter got to watch it this summer and now she is in love with Patrick.
Such a loss, by every account Patrick Swayze was a great person. He had an Arabian horse ranch not far from my place, and I never had a chance to stop by and check it out.
Oh, wow. I knew it was a horse ranch but I didn't know he bred Arabians. Aw, I miss living in the NW semi rural 818 back in the day. All those open fields, the foothills, and the peace and quiet simplicity of it.
This man was the epitome of SEXY - the living embodiment. He succeeded at everything he tried, dancer-actor-singer, and was the sexiest ever to do it 😂🤣😂
This movie is a must for any Patrick Swayze fan. I grew up with his poster on my wall. What a talented man RIP. I still listen to the dirty dancing soundtrack on vinyl.
What a talented person he was: great actor ("Point Break" is one of my favorite movies ever), great dancer, great singer and just a gentleman over all. What a loss..
I kind of did that with my best friend who was absolutely beautiful back when we first met. We both were just out of divorce and It was always a maybe maybe not situation. I do love my best friend, but sadly she married someone else. She had tried to make a move on me after, but I told her I couldn't do that to her seeing how hard the first divorce was. I love her enough to know where my boundaries are. My family was shocked that we didn't end up together. I will never put her through pain. So we haven't seen each other face to face as my fear to cross that line again. Sometimes the one you love is like the wind and must go by.
Just to let you know that Patrick also played Danny Zuko in Grease as well. This Song and "I've Had The Time Of My Life" were the only Two Original Songs on The Soundtrack, the rest were R & B & Pop Hits. Keep in mind it was the Summer of 1963, before The Kennedy Assassination and before the Beatles took America by storm.
I always presume every woman has seen Dirty Dancing. I grew up in the 80's with 2 older sisters so I've seen that film multiple times "Nobody puts Baby in a corner"
You should see patrick swayze..in.an episode of MASH..where he plays a GI with Leukemia..talk about life imitating art..but its an amazing. Performance and the episode is really well acted..1982 one of his first real acting jobs..also he didn't need a dance teacher..he was a dancer..
My BFF roommate was obsessed with Patrick Swayze so although he was played all the time and we put on our make up to him on the VCR every day, to me he was like a brother in law. I knew he was great but... Flash forward... DAMN! He was all that and a bag of chips.
The movie vibe is - he is a worker (a dance instructor) at the Catskills resort her well-to-do doctor father has taken the family to. He is essentially "the help"; he's supposed to be making widows feel good about themselves for a week, not wooing th underage daughters of the guests. THAT is why (in this context, anyway) the song perfectly captures the Swayze character's situation and feeling.
I completely agree, i always saw this movie more from his point of view than Babys. For her it's 'star crossed lovers' summer romance, she will remember fondly. For him there is frustration in their love, because he isn't naive and sheltered by upper middle class parents, he can see why there could be no future for them. This song captured it perfectly. It is my favourite song from the movie.
Just So Beautiful,👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼🫶🏼 RIP, PATRIC SWAYZE We Love You 🫡❣️ You Are Definitely Missed 😢 BUT WE BELIEVE 🙏🏼YOU ARE HOME WITH OUR FATHER & LORD IN☝🏼HEAVEN 🕊🥹✨✌🏼… 🙋🏼❤️
On a morning from a Bogart movie In a country where they turn back time You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre Contemplating a crime She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running Like a watercolor in the rain Don't bother asking for explanations She'll just tell you that she came In the year of the cat Year of the Cat- Al Stewart. Great song! You should give it a listen.
Hey India , This is a must watch . For me this is the greatest movie to date .The music in this entire movie is great , check the dirty dancing sound track , I think you might like a few songs
This is about a guy down on his luck , always that guy being stepped on , and he wants to dance , he meets a doctor's daughter and she thinks he hung the moon , and he thinks that he is not good enough for her , ,she comes from money .He just knew people with money was mean , no one had ever showed him what Baby did , That's why no one puts Baby in a corner , love this .....Still hurts that he's gone ,seen all his movies and he is very miss by his fan RIP
*India Reacts* By the way,India...They did not give the correct credit.... The Vocalist Is Patrick Swayze...That`s Male Voice..The Scenes you are seeing are From The Movie "Dirty Dancing"
Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze are great actors, because the two of them hated each other on set, and yet you would never have known of that if you saw on the film.
Still one of my favorite films after all these years. "Nobody puts Baby in a corner"...RIP Patrick Swayze 🙏
Mine too. This movie is a tradition in my family. ❤️
I guess Patrick Swayze tried to fit this song in a couple movies, but it got shot down. Glad it got accepted in this movie, it was a great fit.

Gosh that beautiful man is missed. RIP. Patrick. When I hear his voice, it’s like a visit from an angel. Great movie.

You left off the most important part. He could stay a humble and kind human being that never let the fame taint him.
The martial arts
The movie Dirty Dancing is a classic and has one of the best soundtracks ever
Patrick Swayze wrote and sang that song..he had an amazing voice..just as gorgeous as he was.
This is still one of my favorites!! The biggest thing from it that stuck with me watching as a child when Baby confronts her dad. We are still fighting that warped ideology. Patrick and Jennifer burnin' up the screen....oh baby! One of my favorite songs and movies.
This man was the epitome of SEXY - the living embodiment. He succeeded at everything he tried, dancer-actor-singer, and was the sexiest ever to do it 😂🤣😂

Patrick Swayze wrote this song as well as having sung it his wife Lisa Niemi provided the female voice in the lyrics
For the longest time I never knew that Patrick swayze sang this song..
