The reason why Rambo(Stallone) only said a few words up until the end of the film was because the Vietnam veterans felt like they had been silenced for so long that when they were finally able to speak their words were kind of broken because they were very emotional from everything they had been through.
My dad was a Vietnam veteran. And the baby killer comments and the being spit on was exactly what happened. It took my dad decades and a lot of therapy to get over a lot of that shit. And to be honest I don't think he ever really did get over it

@PeacefulJoint I doubt the Republicans also went around harassing troops. Besides, my point still stands. @PeacefulJoint I've been trying to reply for like 5 minutes now but since my comment keeps getting hidden for no reason, I'll just say I doubt the Republicans went around harassing troops and my point still stands that left wingers aren't even REMOTELY as tolerant and inclusive as they love to brag that they are.
Like Rocky was not an action movie rather a love story Rambo is a criticism of soldiers being left in poverty, abandonment, lack of PTSD support. That last monologue broke my heart.
He broke a few ribs at the end of the tree stunt. When he comes in after the stunt man he had to make it look like he was going through branches. You can see how much real pain he's in.
I usually stopped watching the movie when Stallone's monologue at the end started..I never understood what he said when I was a kid..as I got older the whole movies makes so much sense
Stallone has always been my favorite action star since childhood. Not only a great action star but he's a great actor too, I don't care what anyone says. First Blood is in my top five favorite movies ever made. Its such an amazing film. There is plenty of action, drama and the ending always pulls at my heart. I'm not one to cry easy for movies but that end monologue by Stallone always brings tears to my eyes. Its such a powerful scene that sadly rang true with so many returning vets. Anyone who says Stallone can't act, watch that scene alone. First Blood is such an important film for me. All the sequels are great as well in my opinion. They're more action driven but they're good and entertaining. Great reaction you two, I hope you both are well and have a great week.
"They drew first blood, not me." Fun Fact: The large piece of rotten canvas that Rambo finds in the woods and cuts into a makeshift coat was in fact not a movie prop, but a real piece of rotten canvas found by the film crew during the movie's production. Since there was only one piece, Sylvester Stallone joked about how the canvas became a treasured prop on the set. After filming ended, Stallone kept the rotten canvas and still has it in his possession to this very day. Location Location Fact: The movie takes place in the fictitious town of Hope, Washington. However much of the movie was filmed in the real town of Hope, British Columbia. Art Over Ego Fact: The first rough cut was over three hours, possibly three and a half hours long and according to Sylvester Stallone, it was so bad that it made him and his agent sick. Stallone tried to buy the film back and destroy it. When he couldn't do that, he suggested that the producers cut much of his part and let the rest of the characters tell the story. That cut the movie time in half and set a precedent for future action movies.
Stallone almost died during the filming of Rocky 4. He told Lindgren to hit him as hard as he could because he wanted the shot to look real but it ended up putting him in the hospital due to some issue with the sack around his heart that the punch caused.
I remember when this came out in teh theaters and after Rocky 3 people including me kind of thought what else is he going to do? Rocky was so good and we were afraid he may be typecast etc... I was a delighted young 20 something with this movie! I thought it was great and still do. Probably one of my favorite scene is his"I am am the law out here" scene. The last scene to me I think is perhaps his most brilliant in anything he has done! Seen it many times but still gets me inside! Great acting!
It's Extremely Unfortunate that FIRST BLOOD didn't give Sylvester Stallone the Oscar Win that he truly deserved for this Incredible performance... I've watched dozens upon dozens of reactions from people all over the world who were Extremely Moved and Shocked by the last Scene and Stallone's performance, yet the American Woman who sees it is Not Impressed! THIS is the Exact Reason WHY it was SO Easy For the Vietnam War to be Swept Under The Rug and All of the Veterans were Ignored and Abused! This Reaction TRULY Disappointed Me!
Hello again this movie is another staple of my childhood and what got me interested in military history the history of warfare especially in the war in Vietnam and the American POW ' s MIA ' s that were left there and the struggle those guys faced coming back not just back too the US also here in Canada in the book Rambo is killed by the sheriff and his deputies the director of this movie wanted the audience too sympathize with Rambo even at 45 years old the ending still tears at my heart strings fun facts this movie is loosely based on Master Sergeant Roy Benavidez who was in the 82 Airborne and then Transfered too the Green Berets too be more specific MACV SOG ( Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group ) it was a special forces unit that did search and destroy missions patrols and rescue missions along the Cambodian Laos and Thailand borders the reason this movie is loosely based on him is because he single handedly rescues a platoon of special forces soldiers pined down behind enemy lines armed only wit a K Bar ( ie ) Knife and a medical kit killing all NVA soldiers ( North Vietnamese ) and VC ( Vietcong ) also when this movie was in theaters Stallone made sure too invite former Vietnam vets too watch it they praised him and said that was and is exactly what we go through and this movie was filmed in British Colombia in fact there is a Rambo statue in the British Colombia town where this movie was filmed .
We are planning to get caught up on those soon. Its been a little crazy at home with people being sick. These movies are fantastic though and although i agree the first is the best I think Emily is going to like them more and more as we go. Interesting fact 10th was the first group...thier isgmia was the trojan horse. The russians were curious about 1-9 that didnt exist at the time...😉
U can hate the war all u like but don't hate the warriors. All love and gratitude to our troops vets and their families. And for those who payed the Ultimate sacrifice for this Country so we can make our own opinions and follow what dialog we chose at any given point.
First Blood is the best dramatically, #2 is 80s action perfection in Vietnam, most iconic, #3 is 80s action perfection during an odd time when Russia threatened tribal territory in Afghanistan, get lot more Col. Trautman & Rambo joins the precursor to the Taliban, wut can I say, #4 in Burma/Myanmar as genocide/conflict continue, is closer to First Blood in tone, very violent/brutal, great ending for the character, and #5 is a grisly kidnap thriller Taken meets Home Alone gloriously hard R

Vietnam vets were treated like shit when they came back from the war..
As far as I´m concerned, all the homeless veterans in the US nowadays aren´t Vietnam-veterans...
Like Rocky was not an action movie rather a love story Rambo is a criticism of soldiers being left in poverty, abandonment, lack of PTSD support. That last monologue broke my heart.
Sad how we still have homeless veterans suffering
"I cant get it out of my head!". Amazing how this entire movie turns around in the last 5 minutes?
As bloody as it was only one person died in the movie., and that was the sheriff deputy that fell out of the helicopter
He broke a few ribs at the end of the tree stunt. When he comes in after the stunt man he had to make it look like he was going through branches. You can see how much real pain he's in.
The most painful part of the entire monologue is when he screams "MY FRIEND IS ALL OVER ME" 😢😢
When I was a kid, this was an amazing action movie. Now I see this as a drama. The ending scene and song makes me cry every time.

Great and emocional vídeo, great edition ! Very emocional 😢...tanks , congrats from Brazil 🇧🇷👏.
Thank you for watching
when Will asked for Rambo's name...Rambo gripped Mich's hand and his hand became pale...😅
He ripped a man's throat apart with his bare hands in Rambo 4..so his grip strength is out of the world
9:57 he said "You name it. "
Yes..people were always confused about it
Some say he said "Enemies", other say "Anything" or 'Everything"
But it's "Name it" in the original script
That end scene always makes me tear up. Amazing moment there.
