This is a great song from Dirty Dancing, and he has other hit songs like, “ Make Me Lose Control” and “All By Myself”. Also, Patrick Swayze sang, “She’s Like The Wind” from Dirty Dancing that you may also like 😎
@@chrislogan5228 Correct, neither of those songs were in Dirty Dancing. But that's not was he was saying. He was just pointing them toward some great songs for them to react on.
Eric Carmen is another songwriter who had so many great songs over the years. The blonde woman helping Baby learn to dance with Johnny is Cynthia Rhodes, who was the wife of Richard Marx.
Dirty dancing was definitely a romance. It was the story of Johnny the dance teacher at the resort and a person visiting the resort who became his dance partner. They ended up falling in love and it is definitely a romance. This particular song was played in the movie during one of the scenes or sets of scenes when they were practicing the dance. Which, is definitely dirty dancing.
Jay and Amber have already reviewed Dirty Dancing on their movie reaction channel, but this music reaction must have been recorded before they watched the movie.
I always loved Eric Carmens music. He's a great guy too. He's probably best know for "All by myself", which is another slow one but there's piano and it really is a great song. "Make me lose control" is another 80s song which is more upbeat.
“Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner!” Love Dirty Dancing! My wife and I saw it when it came out and we still watch it now, every time it’s shown on cable. Nice soundtrack.
"She is like the wind" is by Patrick Swazey . Love the beat to this song . You can see yourself dancing to this. You watched it . You can see the scene of the movie dance when you heat this song .
Eric has always been a Favorite. Highly underrated and unappreciated. A Hall of Famer in My eyes. Classically trained and highly influenced by the Beatles. Loved Him also with the Raspberries. Saw Them perform. He has been a prolific Writer and Performer.
I've been a fan of Eric Carmen since he sang lead for The Raspberries. You should definitely check out Go All The Way by the Raspberries with Eric on lead vocals.
Eric Carmen was the lead singer in the 70’s Group The Raspberries. They had a bunch of hits with Go All The Way, Tonight, I Wanna Be With You and Let’s Pretend.
Dirty Dancing had great music as well as great dancing. Loved this song & I loved the dancing. And yes, it's a romantic movie but I think you both might enjoy it.
Eric Carmen is a GREAT performer. He has a rocker background with an early group: The Raspberries! Their hit "Baby go all the way" is a BANGER for sure. In 1973 I went to a Three Dog Night concert, but the lead up group was not listed. As me & my date were waiting for things to start, we smelled all of this raspberry incense in the air. Then they announced The Raspberries! They were fantastic! Almost as good as Three Dog Night.
Before his solo career, Eric Carmen was the lead singer for The Raspberries, a rock band from the 70's. Check out two of their songs: "Go All The Way" and "I Wanna Be With You". Underrated band.
Great song from a great movie. Eric was around for quite a while before this song, though. "All By Myself" is probably his best known song, from 1975. You could also do "She Did It", "I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips", or "Make Me Lose Control."
Eric Carmen is from the same small town outside of Cleveland Ohio that i grew up in. I would love to hear you react to him in his old band called the Raspberries, their two biggest hits were Go All The Way and the more rocking Tonight.
I grew up in the 80s as a teenager and hearing the songs on the radio that are amazing from the movie! Once you watch the movie Dirty Dancing you will connect to the songs like Eric Carmen's Hungry Eyes. You understand even more of the meaning of the songs.
The year of release, the guitar staccatic 8th notes, the Synth and the Sax, the focus on Eyes. This song always reminded me of Icehouse's "Electric Blue"
Eric Carmen was a heart throb & obviously because of the movie, this song was heavily played & rightly so, but for a different Carmen , to hear his great voice in a rockin' way, you must go back to what some people have already mentioned and that is his great power - pop, early to mid 70's group, The Raspberries, very Beatlesque like, with some banging songs.. Go All The Way, I Wanna Be With You, Overnight Sensation , Tonight.. they had hits... wonderful reaction...
August 21 1987 Dirty Dancing was realeased. I finally rented a VH1 cassette and watched it constantly. I rented the movie 12 times then finally bought my own copy. It is a romantic movie with Patrick Swayze as Johnny a dance instructor giving Jennifer Grey Baby dance lessons. The movie was released August 21 1987. It based at a upscale resort Kellerman's in1963. Watch it I know you will like it and enjoy the soundtrack.
Jay and Amber, you definitely have to check out more Eric Carmen and check out the Raspberries. They definitely ramped up the music! They rocked., Go All the Way, Tonight, Ecstasy, I Wanna Be With You, and more.
Decade of the 80s produced the most varied and awesome music ever. So many genres yet they all added to the most wonderful decade of music ever.....glad I was in my 20s and 30s to listen, dance, party and chill with all of it. You guys are really now my favorite reaction couple...cheers !!!!
the only way i could explain it is you had a very good group of talent in terms of song writing in terms of the producers knowing what trends were good, the musicians, and don't get me started on the number of singers that started out around this time that eventually became household names.
Eric carmen is a singer composer .he was with the raspberries in 1972 and wrote" Go All The Way" and has written several hit songs! Thanks ya'll and Yes Amber, Dirty Dancing is a romantic film with other songs by Jennifer Warren and Bill Medley .Thanks Again
"Hungry Eyes" peaked @ #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in late 1987/ early 1988. It was Eric Carmen's 2nd Top 10 chart hit. The 1st was "All By Myself" (#2/1975) and in 1988 , the 3rd was "Make Me Lose Control" which peaked @ #3. Carmen charted 13 titles on the Hot 100 as a solo artist. Prior to the solo career, he was the lead singer & composer of The Raspberries, charting 7 Hot 100 titles including their biggest hit "Go All The Way" which peaked @ #5 in 1972.
I too, have songs that immediately take me back to another time in my life... Some bring smiles and very happy memories...and a few bring heartache because I associate them with loved ones who have passed...
I do like "All By Myself" but also "Sunrise", "Change Of Heart" , "I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips" and "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again". "Boats Against The Current" is a beautiful ballad by Eric and his most personal work.
Omg, I was about to explode! Thinking, Amber, come on you can get this! RIP to Patrick Swayze, he also sang a song for the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack! But, I was thinking the whole time, I was enjoying it but I've seen the movie 80 times, lol, and heard this beautiful song also 80 times and I kept wishing they'd show more clips of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, so you two would put it together! And bam, in comes my girl Amber! Ask almost any woman, young girl, or guy even, my goodness, what their favorite movie is of all time and they'll usually say, Dirty Dancing and J, it's NOT LIKE THAT, IT'S NOT WHAT YOU MAY THINK. Ahh, you two have got to watch Dirty Dancing! Give us what we want you u say🤣🤣 loved this!
Eric Carmen is somewhat underrated in my opinion. Please check out "Make Me Lose Control" and "All By Myself" for his other big hits. Keep smiling guys!! 🤩🎶🤩🎶🤩
Eric Carmen is a fantastic artist - Vocalist, songwriter, and musician. My favorites from him are "All By Myself" and "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" - both show off his skills as a vocalist, lyricist, and pianist. Jay - if you read this - know that they're slow songs too, but I'm sure you'll love them anyway. The lyrics are outstanding and his vocals do an excellent job conveying the feeling behind them. I would even go so far as to say that there are very few popular music stars who've ever rivaled Carmen's ability to communicate the feelings of his lyrics, from those two songs in particular. Also, he's one of those rare artists where a lot of his songs that weren't hits are still very good, so don't be afraid to peruse his catalog just to listen to music for pleasure (as opposed to reacting on video to it). Anyways, thank you for another reaction video. Now, on to check out the other two reactions today.
If it sounds familiar, you heard it in DIRTY DANCING. It was the scene when Penny was helping Johnny teach Baby how to do the dance for the exhibition at the Shelldrake.

Some great Eric Carmen songs include "Make Me Lose Control", "I Wanna Hear it From Your Lips", and his original "All by Myself" (all other versions are covers). You should also check out the stuff he did with his group The Raspberries.
Eric is one of my HOMETOWN boys!! From CLEVELAND, Ohio, and he STILL LIVES here! Eric also did a version of "ALL BY MYSELF" in 1975 which went to #2 in the US
Yes this is from Dirty Dancing. My all time favorite movie, I've seen it over 100 times. Lots of really good music, dancing and yes, romance. Can't wait to see you r reactions to the movie. God bless and have a wonderful day!

RIP Eric Carmen 1949-2024
Surprised they haven't reviewed "All By Myself" yet ... at least according to my search here. Would be a fitting tribute. RIP Eric.
Que en paz descanse Mr Eric Carmen 😢
You have to listen to All By Myself. Rest in peace, Eric Carmen
The 80s were Eric Carmen's second decade of music. He was also a big star in the 70s.
You’ve got to watch Dirty Dancing!!!!
They did! Please watch it on their movie reaction channel "Rob Squad Movie Reactions! :)
This is a great song from Dirty Dancing, and he has other hit songs like, “ Make Me Lose Control” and “All By Myself”. Also, Patrick Swayze sang, “She’s Like The Wind” from Dirty Dancing that you may also like 😎
Yes it's on the soundtrack, but it didn't come out until much, MUCH later than the movie was set in
I don't think make me lose control was in the movie and I know that all by myself wasn't for sure !!
He was also in the band The Raspberries from the late 70's.

Swayze
Swayze, legend..
Youngblood, Red Dawn, Roadhouse, personal fav, Dalton! Thought you’d be bigger! Had such a crush on Kelly Lynch too, what a babe..
It's Patrick Swayze, not Patrick Swazey. You Americans always butcher the English language.
Love this song so much!
R.i.p Eric , thank u guys for being My every night music sessions ✌️❤️🌎

There is a long video version available - lose yourself in the music! Eric C will be primarily remembered for "All by myself".
She's Like The Wind.......Patrick had a lovely voice.
It's soft, because the movie "Dirty Dancing" was set in 1963/64 time frame. Great song, great movie, outstanding dancing!
