@cheekyape Not all of ut has good scenery. In fact, I found cheaper houses with nice landscapes in dem states (lol). It depends where you look? But utah is expansive in general, which shouldn't be the case with them being reps.
A very simplistic way to look at it. If everybody just kept all the money they earned and spent none on taxes. We would still have nothing but dirt roads, poor healthcare, poor education, contaminated water, no public parks, no libraries, no police or fire departments, It would be like living in Somalia

@Enhanced Utility if you make smart and frugal life choices and avoid bad debt you'd be just fine with $100k, especially if you're investing a lot of that left over money rather than just saving it
@Enhanced Utility yea well that's their fault, make bad choices, get bad outcomes. Make good choices, get good outcomes. Im gonna be making around $108k/yr when I graduate college in 1.5 years and I'll be saving as much of my income as I can, hopefully around $3000/mo
Indiana is no doubt the better state. Houses are bigger and cheaper in Indiana, Incomes aren’t very different, Taxes are far lower, PROPERTY TAX is way lower. Your money stretches way further in Indiana, plus Indiana has Carmel and zionsville which is better to live in than ANY illinois settlement.

For a Rep state, Utah is very expensive! Reps tend to be cheaper states, but not the case for utah.
Something most Rep states don’t live is a good quality of life, good salaries and crime rates but Utah does, that’s why.

You need to break down state vs fed taxes
Do all states. Or specifically which is highest and lowest
For a conservative state, UT is very expensive.
Utah is much cheaper than its made out to be. We go to Utah to go shopping specifically because it's cheaper.
There are too close together for an accurate understanding. Try Oregon versus Colorado.
Oregon vs Montana
Just remember income tax was supposed to only last during a war period then stop ….remember that the next to you wanna trust the government
