Thank you for this, this video should have so much many views… I am in argentina making around 3500 usd/month thinking of moving to Netherlands but here my mortage is only 500 usd, all other expeses are pretty much the same, only meat is much more cheaper here. Beef eye is 10usd/kg… Not sure what the right move is
This video is really important. Recently my family (family of 3. parent and one child) was planning a relocation to Netherlands due to a job offer, but the gross salary was 2900, after looking this video and the house market our conclusion was "that's a hilarious salary to think of a family relocation"
When you calculate required income in order to make 3500 net per month you should point that there is a big difference whether you're making money alone or as a couple because of taxes. If you earn minimum wage (13,27 euros per hour) and work 36 hour a week you'll earn ~2100 euros per month gross and pay almost no taxes for that which gives you ~1950 net. So working couple can't earn less than 3900 euros per month.
taxes don't depend on whether you're alone or together, all taxes are calculated for individuals. indeed, for low salaries, there is close to 0% tax here. I explained it in detail in my separate video about taxes: ruclips.net/video/fBeC6C_3mzY/видео.html
@@dpashutskii I think he meant that those two cases: a) 2 people making 25k euro each b) 1 person making 50k euro, the other unemployed vary significantly when it comes to net money after taxes. I know this renting pain 😮 now 1 person room in Waalwijk cost about 700 , when I came to NL 9 years ago it was 300-400e and basic salary not double. For mortgage we pay 1370€ which way better then renting😊 good movie btw
Great video once again! I'm also interested in a Tesla, but insurance prices were insane, like 180 euros or more. Which insurance company do you have? I was using Independer up to now, and I even have 2 year driving experience in NL Thanks mate!
I use ABN AMRO. As I understand main Dutch banks have cheaper insurance but they are as good as any dedicated insurance company (if not better). PS Independer for some reason doesn't suggest them.
NYE and major holidays like Koningsdag can be noisy in the city centers. But in general no, if your neighbors are noisy after 10pm or before 8am, you can just call the police and they will figure this out.
That's a good question. In short: travel. More detailed: I have a whole separate video about why I decided to buy a car ruclips.net/video/P6vbLuMiJIs/видео.html
We shop at Albert Heijn. €800 seems insanely high check for groceries. I think for €800 / month you can just order ready-to-eat meals (like Factor) instead of cooking. A few remarks - We are vegetarians, so no meat, but we still buy Beyond and others from time to time (which are similar to meat prices). - We always cook, so no pre-made stuff. - We use AH promos occasionally (bbox or regular yellow price tags), but nothing hardcore.
Rating out in the Netherlands is extensive? 100€? I paid 2021: 85,69€ / 2022: 101,91€ / 2023: 133,25€ / 2024: 141,65€ ... so 100€ is normal. Und jetzt kotzt Scintology schon wieder, weil die sagen: Der, der neue Chef? Der rechnet ja Centgenau ab.
to live in The Netherlands you need permanent employment, so this problem is kinda solved already when you arrived as expat. not sure what cases you referring to but everyone gets the same rights in terms of amount of mortgage.

The prices are very realistic , nice video . The cost of living in Netherlands if someone want to stay in big cities , it’s so expensive…
Such a helpful guide, so useful for students, expats, and travelers alike! 😊 Thanks for sharing the insight!♥
Nice info. Keep up the good work...
Thanks, will do!

Getting mortage is not so simple. You need permanent employment, and in some categories you get much less than others for the same salary.
