@Bryce Czirr who cares, just get some off eBay or whatever. I had some and they looked great, plus no need to upgrade the grille.
Or get the 7.5 lights, either way the car will look much better and more high end.
@Bryce Czirr oh yeah you’re right, I forgot that the ones I decided to get didn’t have the red stripe in the headlights so It didn’t matter, I totally missed that part 😂

Generally a rule of thumb I go for when dialing in preload on the springs, is about a half inch spring compression in the front. Different manufacturers may be different or even come with a preset preload and not recommended to change it. As far as the rear, put the wheel on with a couple bolts....adjust the collars on the spring perch, then jack up the suspension so it's sitting on the suspension and not on the lift as much as you safely can and see where it's at. Trial and error and adjustment....continue to adjust the rear spring perch until you get the height where you want, then roll in the shock in to match the height. The weight of the car is the preload.

You can use a 2x4 with a hole to put bolt through and use a jack to lift strut out of the slot and to place new strut in. . Pretty easy and quick

Love your videos man! I had a 2016 GTI Autobahn up until today when i rear ended another car at 45mph. Now im a former gri owner! I had a dp and tune ready but not anymore.
That's the worst I feel 4 u, hopefully u don't get discouraged and get another gti

Instead of taking out the axel, I removed the 3 bolts at the bottom of the control arm and pushed down on the control arm and lifted the ball joint bolts up off the control arm. That way I didn’t have to take out the axel.
So the camber adjustment on the top hat can’t be adjusted while installed in the car? 🙂

Hey I just wanted to ask about what you think of Ksport as a brand. I know you’ve put them on all of your cars and because of you I am looking at a set for my mk6 GTI. Just wanted to know how they have held up for you over time and if you have had any other issues with these coil overs.

Love your chilled videos! I have a question regarding the new R. If I install coil overs will that mess up the R’s Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) variable suspension settings?
Provides a choice of Normal, Comfort or Sport modes. Using the digital slider via the infotainments system. I’ve seen the DCC has 15 settings
You either have to get the coilovers that are made for dcc, or get the dcc cancellors

Just installed lower springs on my R. Went right into it without knowing u need a 12 point spline bit socket I just used 6 point torx, definitely not recommended but is possible with minor damage to bolts.
What size 12 point?

when it comes to the gti's with dynamic chassis control, do you have to get a dcc cancelation kit to run any aftermarket coilovers?
you dont have to, but it will remedy the fault, as its still looking for the OEM dcc suspension

No. Lot's of good Mk. 7 GTI content of RUclips elsewhere. but Cameron does have a nice vibe. This vid in particular. I like straight to business.
Why do those top bolts look like hardware store bolts? I hope it’s not low tensile hardware bolts haha you’d have a bolt sheer pretty quickly at the worst possible time.

12 point Allen head sockets or "triple squares" are a must have for most if not all euro cars. Especially the German ones, and ESPECIALLY anything from VW Group. Which at this point is basically everything. Cause VW owns it all almost.

Was gonna go with BC coilovers but you made me choose the Ksports, they’re like $300 cheaper and if you picked them they must be good quality

Brother u got a plastic oil pan get a street shield asap I destroyed mine on my gli w a turtle and it was a steel pan imagine what can happen to urs🥲 also get a street shield from ECS
Yes definitely, I got one after I ran over deer debri and f up my factory lip and under belly plastic. Was thinking about a metal pan from usp motor sport.
@@lewisberry8657 You can also use the Alltrack underbelly pan. Dont forget the brackets though as these bolt to the subframe of the car rather than just the bumper.

The core of your rear shock absorber is wrong,About 1 week after the new coilover is installed, the rear body will be lowered by about 0.5-1 inches

I agree, these are 4 applications that usually don't make coilovers for your car.
K sports aren’t too bad. They’re comparable to other coilovers for the price and they do the job.

Concur. Also the plastic swaybar end links can be replaced with Moog K750809 ( paint them first) which do the job great and are low dollar replacement

Pretty sure cause he’s more focused on the filming and getting the perfect angles. Randle does more of the “work” so he can focus on the filming 👍🏼
