"They've reached the very limit of what you can achieve with this part of the human body!" I feel this way every few years with beatbox, and then someone comes in and surprises us yet again. It's incredible.
As a correction they are allowed to add some basic reverb, EQ, and compression to wildcards, but they have to keep the same settings throughout and not adjust for individual sounds (the same as it would be in a live stage performance).
Thanks for reacting to Jairo! Your example beats are the best part. Jairo = Yamori (main vocals) and John T. (bass and harmony) from Japan. 2023 was their first year together. GBB = Grand Beatbox Battle. Tag team = 2 members. (Crew = 4 or 5 members.) Wildcard = a video audition. This "Fuego" video is Jairo's wildcard for worldwide GBB23. It a remix of an old Eurovision song, and won the number 1 spot for tag teams. At the live competition, Jairo won 2nd place, which is incredible for a new team. The winning pair was 2 world champions from France. I hope you react to more of Jairo and other beatboxers. Do Berywam, an award-winning crew, next. Since you do production, react to beatbox-loopers like MB14. He sings, raps, beatboxes, and produces original songs all at the same time, live in front of an audience, without using fancy effects, just EQ and sometimes reverb. It's mind-boggling.
Thanks so much for checking out Jairo! And you’re correct wildcard submissions are to qualify for live competitions so they have to be live audio as well.
They came 2nd I believe, Rogue Wave came in 1st (unfortunately, as I love Jairo). They have a couple of videos on their channel, recently uploaded, which are studio quality performances of their rounds at the GBB. Well worth a watch too. Don't Care Crown and Begin by Letting Go. They are only about 1min 40 each so you could watch both in one vid 😂
You're right, the most impressive part is that they stay so in sync with each other. I've never seen a tag team do it at this level. Each sound has a name, like lip roll bass and throat bass. But I don't know how they write it down, that's a good question. How do a cappella groups annotate the beatbox parts?🤔 Great reaction! Thank you. please do more beatboxing.
I'm a beatboxer who does solo, tag team and in an a cappella group, and I write things down differently for each: For solo, I just remember everything, record it and play it back when I need to remember it. Jairo might do it differently, but for tag team when I have an idea, I'll record one part and play it back out loud and do the second part on top. Depending on what I have with me at the time I might record one part into the left ear and the other into the right of headphones to make it more clear who is meant to do what parts. For a cappella, we get given sheet music and typically my parts aren't as complicated as in solo and tag team so I can write my part on the sheet music. The drums have different letters that are closest to the sound of the drum (eg. b for a kick drum, t for a hi-hat, k or pf for a snare). I can write the drum pattern on the sheet music, and leave different sized gaps to represent the timing. Hope you find this interesting/useful
Their timing is insane! I have the same question: how do they weave together and apart without missing a beat? I don't know, but they did it live on stage, too, and they weren't even facing each other. Mindblowing. Wonderful reaction, love your knowledge and sense of humor.
I would like to add a suggestion to the beatbox list that will blow your mind: MB14 - La Cup worldwide showcase 2018. The most musical beatboxer on the planet at the moment, but I am happy to be proven wrong by someone in the comments. You have heard one of his songs already, but he's got many more eargasms in store for you
If you'd like an example / demonstration of how beatboxing can be notated, I highly recommend a video by the beatboxer Hiss called "Flip" that was his Quarterfinal round for the Beatbox United Online 2022 (aka BBU 2022). Since RUclips sometimes deletes links, the video is named "HISS VS HEARTZEL | Flip | #bbu22 1/4 Finals". HOWEVER, from my understanding, transcription is an exception rather than a rule in the community. Regardless, I believe the vast majority of routines are created and honed to perfection through obsessive practice.
Hey m8, if you like really cool vocals you might enjoy reacting to "Jinjer - Pisces (live session)". It's a Ukrainian band whose female lead singer has the most beautiful angelic voice you have ever heard 😍
Wait until he hears jairo - begin by letting go 🤣

We need more JAIRO !
The next covers are all studio version, but they did all these songs live
You are correct, to enter the competition, they cannot do much to alter the track. You cannot do lip synced videos, vannot add reverb, etc.

The craziest thing is these guys lost to another team this year to i guess there is even crazier beatbox tag teams 😂
should react to Jairo - Begin By Letting Go
Definately check out Den's BBU stuff if you want to be blown away with what a solo beatboxer can do.
Wait until you see berywam, from France. 4 world champion level beatboxers together in a group that sell out arenas using nothing but their mouths.
check out get threw these two are some thing eles
