I’ve been stuck for 30 years with my PB largemouth ( I’ve tied it twice in the last 5 years ) and stuck for 4 years with my PB smallies ( tied it 4 times but not 1 Oz over lol )
Honestly it feels great out of the box man! I've been casting 1g with it with no issues. The lure got stuck in the vegetation that's why it backlashed badly I don't know if you noticed 😕 😅
@@zombiebitefishing yea I did, just a common mod people do to that reel. Wouldn't have saved you there though! I hit a bridge last week and had the same problem 😭
@yep.fishing yeah I understand why, definitely a but under braked. Nothing would've saved me there 😭😭🤣🤣🤣 yeah especially with thin lines makes it nearly impossible to sort these backlashes out.
You fish the same pegs as me on that river dane..My pb recently was a 4lb chub on one of those pegs. I live very local to the dane, some great fun days fishing on there 👍
Ah that's cool! Good fish that, I wasn't really expecting any decent fish when I went there because some people told me the fish stock wasn't great but guess it's still worth a go! Give me a shout if you see me around 😁
@@zombiebitefishing yeah will do buddy. 👍 I chatted to another youtuber a couple of years ago while I was fishing on the dane. Check out his video on river dane...MONSTER fish from a small river. Danny's angling blog 👍
Hi mate for that range of lures I would go with a "normal" 150 size baitcaster, or maybe a size 100. The Soloking is an amazing reel but definitely shines throwing 2g and such, you wouldn't have enough line on that reel and the drag is minimal to be honest. If you watch my previous video even a 70cm pike took me more than 5 minutes to land and my drag was tight to the maximum 😅😬
@@zombiebitefishing okay mate thanks a lot do you have any recomendations on what reel to put on my berkley urbn ii baitcast finesse rod its a 5-21g would appreciate any help
@jamiebeggs9194 no worries mate, happy to help! It really depends on how much you want to spend, I love shimano reels, but the SLX costs possibly around £80 or £90, but you'll throw all the way down from 5g up to whatever you need. The Abu Garcias like the Max X and stuff are work horses and possibly a little cheaper, and still throw small stuff, possibly a bit more over-braked than the shimano. If you want to go AliExpress way the KastKing are great reels for the price too.
@@zombiebitefishing thanks mate i all ready have the max x combo i have ordered 40lb braid for the reel but just want something a little lighter just for fun il probably just get the slx dc reel thanks for the help mate
@jamiebeggs9194 on my 5-18g I use my SLX DC with 70m of 10lb braid and I can cast 5g with it. I can go a bit lower but start to lose distance and a lot of accuracy. Just make sure you don't go a lot over 15 or 17lb braid and you should be good with the smaller stuff 👍
Have you guys had any PB's recently??🎣

Yeah, seabass, pike and Zander in a week time
30 years ago was probably the 1st time I went fishing 😅 that's really a long time, but it's unfortunate to tie it twice too!
That's impressive dude 👏
Caught a cold 😂
Lovely fish mate 👏 looking forward to the next one .
Thanks a lot mate! Saturday 2pm 💪😁
Congrats on the PB! Looked like a fun outing. 😊
Thanks a lot! Yeah short session with a PB really made my day 😁
Good 👍 video 📹 mate
@petercooper9694 thanks a lot mate 🙏
I enjoyed that well done on the PB Chub.
@davehugill8565 thanks a lot mate! Quite happy with it, especially after 2 years without catching a chub at all.
that was a nice big dog chub mate, conditions aint the easiest durin floods so top marks on gettin the pb in it 👍👍🎣
Thanks a lot mate! They're so tough to find in my area, and I knew they were there but was never expecting a PB 😅
@@zombiebitefishing was good huntin anyway mate nailin him 👍👍🎣
@whitetroutchannel thanks again mate! Definitely not a species I come across regularly 😁
Dude, you should try adding 4x .5mm N52 magnets to your Acura. It's the only reel I've used that felt under braked.

@@zombiebitefishing 2 rods or 2 reels always!
@yep.fishing always! No point in risking ending the session short because of that 😬 I neaely ended up in a situation like that on a future video 😅

@RoyPendlebury I'll definitely have a look! I need to give the dane a few more hours, the few times I went there was always rushing!
hi mate would the Soloking Acura HICC50 Pro work well on a 5-24 gram rod and would it work well with 24g lures

Is this the river weaver
Not far from it!
3lb perch in my local loch
That's a really good perch, well done!
