    Nice video I like to fish in our little rivers and natural creeks here in LA too.

      @CarlosReelz Thank you! Yes, the smaller creeks don't always hold the largest fish, but they are extremely fun to fish, aren't they?

    Awesome video! Dude that algae is such a nightmare. I call it pond snot lol. Great catches!
    I'm curious about your gear. Line. Leader rod reel flies and all. Maybe you can give a run-down of your setup on a future video. Impressive casting in that jungle!

      @DrDitchpickle Thanks mate! Yeah, it's a total nightmare but they're all hiding right underneath it. Pond Snot is the perfect description!!! I can tell you got plenty experience battling that green nightmare!

      @DrDitchpickle And yeah, I'll be happy to go over my setup, which, btw., entirely depends on the location I'm fishing. It was great to see you take the ol' fly rod out for a spin! Please, for me, can you try to point the rod tip directly at your fly and strip set the hook when you get a bite instead of lifting the rod? I really hope that will get you more fish (I know you already catch plenty though); and if it works, I'm hoping you can make a cool video out of it.

      @@Astrofishicist right on! I'm totally not skilled at fly fishing but yeah I catch a few. I need to practice fly fishing more but it's really frustrating. I get snagged all the time and knots on my leader. I appreciate any advice! Thanks

      @Astrofishicist  6 дней назад +1

      @DrDitchpickle The knots may come from your loop being too tight. Yeah, it's all about practice and there's no substitute for it, other than putting in the hours. But the pay off can be rewarding, landing the perfect cast right underneath a bush/tree or ambush spot and connecting with one of those biggins!!

      @@Astrofishicist thanks man! That tip about stripping the line to set the hook sounds perfect. I'm so used to pulling the rod for hooksets from spinning gear and baitcasters. Definitely gonna try to keep that in mind for flyrod

    You should try Whittier Narrows area starts off of Rush St. in Rosemead. Love what your doing!!

      @UNCLELEMUR Thanks so much!! I quickly had a look via Google Maps. Hopefully it's enough water to hold fish year-round. The homeless there aren't hostile or anything, right? I spotted an encampment when I zoomed in on the satellite image.

      @@Astrofishicist Just keep a distance from them and respect them as times are hard. I know below where it starts off Rush St. down below there is a huge pool and a Water Treatment plant that has a discharge below the 60 FWY. Worth a look.

      @UNCLELEMUR Thank you, I greatly appreciate the follow up! I have some experience with the people who live at the LA River, so I'm too worried. Typically they're friendly and interested in what I'm doing.

    Thanks for the video. I just found your channel. Are you using a 3 or 4 weight?

    Are these all LA County creeks? Some good ones in Ventura County?

      @soccercoach9803 Hi, yes, these are all in Los Angeles. I wanted to explore all possible roadside ditches in LA first before venturing towards Ventura and other neighboring counties. Also, I noticed that some of the watersheds in Ventura Country are closed for fishing because of the pesticide runoffs from nearby farms. I hope not all creeks over there are badly polluted, since I would like to find some places to fish in that area as well. :)

      @@Astrofishicist They are not there are quite a few you are able to fish and they are full of fish...literally some pretty amazing spots for bass, catfish, sunfish, and carp. I have fished in LA at the creeks near balboa lake but outside of that I haven't explored many others in the area. seems like you do some bushwhacking to get to some...Ventura county more easy to access.

      @soccercoach9803 Thank you so much for the insight!! I will look into it again and hopefully I will find a few locations where fishing is allowed. And yes, I get a good workout in every time I have to crawl through the brush to get to the next pool or spot. Easy access would be nice but hopefully that means the waters there are not overrun with people.
