The long term, the 6 Pro will be a better investment. The 50mp camera will only improve with software. The other two phones are limited to effectively the same camera hardware as all prior pixel phones
What you said is true about 60 hertz display. Most of the people have negative feedbacks when they hear that the 6a has only 60 hertz display. But if you are used to having a phone with only 60 hertz display, it doesn't really matter. In my opinion, it will still be a smooth experience knowing that the 6a has a flagship chipset which is the Google Tensor.
The issue is, most mid-end phones such as Redmi Note Pro series have 120Hz and most users in this budget had already experienced it. No way they are going back to 60Hz.
I got the 6 Pro on a Prime Day sale. Super happy with it. No issues at all so far. I put a Whitestone Glass screen protector on it and an Otterbox Defender case which makes for bomber protection. Best phone I've ever had for sure.
Great comparison. Can't wait to see the 7/7 Pro reviews. I want a Pixel 8, named Pixelate, and I want it to have a sprite mode where everything has that retro look.
By far, the 6 Pro is the best phone I've ever owned. I took a night shot (just point and shoot) and the results were awesome. I don't like the price I paid, however I had a Pixel 2 XL that was dying and I needed a phone😭😭
@@d12play14 Well, it's funny because pixel 6 is not released in India so they are smuggling in the japanese version because of the demand, no taxes, 6a on the other hand is officially released in India but Google have priced it so high because of taxes and such.

One problem is mines Japanese model so it does not support mmWave 5g, in 5g auction everyone bought 26ghz freq which is high speed mmwave frequency. Screen on time about 6 hrs in wifi.. Charging time is bad, I have iPhone 13 pro it charges much faster even my fold3 charges faster.
Got my pixel 6 got 43k with card offers. Well i think obvious advantage 6a over 6 is that it is official warranty support where 6 doesn't since its imported
Smart man!! That deal was way too good in a few phones and got a few of those deals. Cousin, It was just way too good to pass everything I bought like six of them give them family members
One thing to add in about price is the pixel 6 is going for $360-400 used on ebay. I bought one a few days ago basically brand new the person got it free and didn't like it for $350. It was a deal too good to pass on. Great phone and I'm liking it so far. But I'd rather buy a used 6 for the same price or a little less than have the 6a.
Great comparison! I just bought the 6A for both my wife and I (just received). We're trading in two 3A XL which gave us a $300 credit per phone, plus we got the standard pixel earbuds ($99 free)... So in the end we paid basically $50 for each 6A! Hard to beat. But my wife likes the larger 3A XL phone because fonts are a tad larger. Your review is spot on and really points out the deal you're getting with a 6A unless you really need all the extra bells and whistles from the 6a and 6 pro. For most people the 6A is going to get the job done. And the fact that my 3A XL was always the go-to phone when taking pictures with friends, even when compared to friends that had the latest iPhone. With the Tensor chip improving on the old camera it's an improvement for us. And one of the main reasons for switching was because of the security updates for the next 5 years versus a 3XL which has been cut off. I'm sure the 6a's going to get better with Android 13, 14, and whatever comes next. Thanks again for a fantastic video! Very fair, well thought out and balanced which we don't see a lot of times.
I got my Pixel 6 Pro coming from a Pixel 3. It feels like a huge upgrade, especially since I got the Android 13 Beta. The Pixel 6a looks to me like the ultimate version of what the Pixel 3 put on the table. Same camera, similar screen and battery life but with the full power of the Tensor. On the other hand I have friends who own the iPhone 13 Max and Galaxy S22 Ultra and the 6 Pro feels just as premium as those (and for snaps my phone is the go to for us). The Pixel 6 should be somewhere in between. I'd say whichever budget you have, all of those phones seem to punch above their class. All of them well worth their price (maybe the regular 6 on discount much more than the rest).
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 what about the overheating, Connectivity issues, camera issues and battery fast draining? Because according to another youtuber’s comparison the 6A surpassed the 6 pro in battery life, portrait pictures and HDR and night mode. So it was weird to see knowing that the 6 pro has better hardware, and I don’t know if these issues will be adjusted by google with software updates.
I had a Pixel 6. Great potential but it was buggy and felt like an advanced prototype to showcase Tensor. I sold mine due to the bugs and also the size as I prefer a smaller phone. Just got a 6a and honestly prefer it to the 6. Far less buggy, smaller and does everything I want. Mine cist £399 with free Series A buds - so effectively £299 which is a crazy good bargain. Now about that refresh rate - 95% of the world is watching content on a 60Hz display be it a phone, TV or monitor - so a crisp and efficient 60Hz Oled is just fine + I'll pocket the better battery life. Great phone. Oh and connection with the Gen 2 pixel buds is solid, so thats a bonus!
I prefer that broader bezel to the narrower one on the Pro though I prefer the steel bump and bezel of the 7 series. The camera of the 6a seems as good. In fact, it maybe even processes better? Hard to tell... As for 6GB RAM, have you really found it slower with say, 5 apps open? I frankly don't that's an issue either. The iPhone 13 has 4GB RAM and the Pro and Pro Max have 6GB! So the 6a seems to be a very good phone but I really feel that if you can afford $150 more the Pixel 6 seems like the best, all considered...
I've got the 6 pro and I've gotta say I'm absolutely in love with this phone it's just so good! It's also nice to see the differences between all three versions of these phones
I just started watching your reviews today. You do a very good and thorough job on your reviews. I purchased the Pixel 6 Pro the end of last year and have not had any problems. It is a great phone.
I have a Pixel 6 and traded in my old Pixel 5 for a 6a for my wife. Both are great phones. Can't go wrong either way! One caveat: the Google case is bad. Mine is all bent out of shape.
I got the Caseology Athlex grey case for the 6a and it is great to hold and pocket, although I slightly regret not having the colorful phone it was or the colorful Parallax case I would have chosen if I didn't need it ASAP.
My wife has a 6a. I can unlock it with my UNREGISTERED thumb. I purchased via the preorder period and live in the US. I traded in her old Pixel 3a with cracked screen and got $290 credit for it. Any suggestions about the how to fix the fingerprint reader?
Thank you for this video, I hadn't realized that the 6a had no wireless charging, and I can actually get an amazon renewed pixel 6 pro for way cheaper than a 6a from google!
I really like the pixel, decent cameras and software for lower price then most flagships but I really reaaaally hate the google search bar at the bottom.

great video. I have had both the 6 and 6 Pro, and the 6 Pro is worth the higher price. Combining premium hardware and Google software is a win-win. The 6 Pro is on par with more expensive premium phones like the S22 Ultra in many ways. 👌
i have a Pixel 6 and yea it has its bugs but I love the battery life! Can get thru a full day of lots of pictures and still end day with a decent amount of battery left in that I don't need to worry.
How is it? What kind of bugs do you have? I heard that android 13 beta has fixed many bugs, is that true? I'd like to know yr opinion because I wanna buy the phone. Also are the videos good? I know photos are good but some people say videos are not excellent, especially in low light.

The only bad thing is no charger is included, but my tablet cord fits nicely. And no earphone slot so you have to use it like a regular phone. Mine's all black so it's really sleek looking, and much nicer than my Samsung was!
I think the 6a camera showed more vibrant colors than the 6 pro. I knew the minute you showed the pictures of the 6a and 6pro that the 6pro was on the left.
I'm beginning to have issues with my Z Flip 3 and need a cheaper alternative. I just use a phone for calls, text, emails and spotify with an occasional RUclips watching. Would one of these work?
I also had Samsung Z flip 3 with IPPro 13. I've had the pixel 6a and I haven't had any issues with thd software use and the hardware does feel great in the hand. It's hard to tell the back of the phone is plastic. I use the phone for more than your use case.
I am enjoying my experience with the pixel 6, after the exaggerated reviews from these tech influencers who claim to be reviewers, i was anxious, but the phone is just so good, could not ask for anything more. also, good job with the review, hope you dont become a black and red influencer too, as you grow.
Excellent run down on the features and differences , but, at this point why not wait for the Pixel 7..... reason;. the updates start from the time the phone is introduced..... not an issue for the 6a, but, if you want the telephoto lens.... the 6 Pro is the one to get...I imagine that the 7 series will offer that as well. .... Really depends on how much of a discount for the 6 Pro after the 7 is released....
Just discovered you, great honest review I feel. You really help people with choices. I have been wondering for some time, what can I afford what is the best deal. I will go for the 6a. Regards.
great video, thanks so much, question at the start of your video a see a phone in a frame. Did you did that or where can I do something like that? thanks
I bought the 6a, so glad to be back on a Pixel and I prefer smaller phones so the 6a was my choice. I've not taken many pictures yet but I'll after seeing lots of reviews there's not much difference, and the court 6a actually comes out better in some tests. The real test is if it will be better than my previous phone, the Huawei P30.
Watching this on November 27, 2022 and I am getting the pixel 7 Regular black Friday special with trade in for $188 dollars, I am feeling rewarded :) great videos as usual Mike.
Google always does a good job making you feel like a clown for buying the "pro" version on release... they lowered the price $100, they should give us a credit or something towards the 7 pro
I have the 6a and the camera is pretty good and it can handle any task I throw at it. The video is not so good, but I own a GoPro Hero 10 Black, so it is not a worry for me. I am not concerned about the plastic back as I have a Caseology Nano Pop on it and I have an Otterbox Commuter case coming... if Amazon actually send me the right item this time. If I had the money for a 6 Pro, I probably wouldn't as 6.7 inches is too large for my liking, and I would save and get the 6a still.
I have always been an Android user although I haven't ever had a Google phone & I *hate* Samsung Galaxy & I have went with LG in the past which I liked, but LG is out of the phone business so I have been researching & I will moving over to a Google Pixel (although I am waiting for the Pixel 7) I don't upgrade my phone or tech for that matter all that often, I tend to research & find the best that I can afford & take care of it & use it for the long haul, hence why I am waiting for the Pixel 7.
As a standard 6 owner, I see no reason to even consider the 6A, the price difference in real life is so small. The Pro is nice and all, but it's too expensive for what it offers IMHO. If you're going that high, grab a Samsung/Apple phone and call it a day. The whole point of the new Pixel series is the value for dollar you get, and the standard 6 is the sweet spot all the way.
I just change from the 6 to the 6a for the size only. Damn, it's good! Better battery life and better speakers. But I see your point, the regular 6 is a great device.
@@ali_4164 got it for the original price, 450€ in France. It's good and heats up in the first couple of days then it's fine. It's very hot lately but I still can take some 4k videos.
I think, for the price, the Samsung Galaxy A53 is a better deal, it has 90 hertz screen, micro SD, bigger battery and it will have 4 year updates. The only thing superior in the 6A is the processor. The cameras is arguable.
A53 is absolutely not a good deal with a slow Exynos. A52s is a good deal if you want a A5x series smartphone. Or a Poco F4 which is around the same price Or a Nothing Phone 1
I don't have a Google Pixel phone and they all sound good but, you need to look at the money and the amount that you like the phone because you are the one that is using it.
im still using the pixel 5 decent phone and no problems but unsure whether to get for the 7 when it comes out or if there will be big changes on the 8 and wait a year for that?
No way I'd have paid 899 for the Pro but I got it for 622 open box in perfect condition, saving just 78 when it was listed at best buy (barf) for 700. Shrug. I'm happy with it.
If only Google talked about their lens choice for the Pixel as you did in 9:29 that would be more convincing than only showing off the super res zoom. loved your opinion.
Maybe it's the time of day for me, but comparing three phones with such similar names, instead of two phones is making my head spin. I'll give it another go tomorrow.
I accidentally won a pixel 6 pro during an eBay bid( I didn’t expect to win the bid ) was very cheap considering its original price -£150 and it’s as good as new and works flawlessly. I also own a 7a. Camera wise the 6pro is almost the same as my 7a when using the main camera . The pro has the advantage of x4 zoom, which is very good. I prefer ultra wide on my 7a. Display wise my 6pro seems no better than my 7a, no marked difference between the refresh rates ( that’s just me ) , although 6pro display appears more polished, 7a display better during bright outdoor lighting conditions . Must say I’m very happy with both devices ☺️
Google failed the 6 pro by putting a damn curved display, it made no sense to put a curved display… the 6 pro could of been a great phone loved by everyone if it had high quality flat display.. instead it looks like a bootleg Samsung. No wonder iPhone is the best selling
It matters not on the glass, be it 4,5,6 or w/ever else comes along that is "NEW & IMPROVED", for they *ALL* are subject to cracking/breaking/etc. It's all marketing. I do have a question though... Be it ANY new phone, are cases/skins readily available when phones get released?
6a is now 299 on Amazon. I have one (mine was free with a new line I needed anyway) it is an exceptional device for the value. I really prefer the size and the 2 12 MP cameras do a remarkable job.
watching this on a 6a and it's a gorgeous phone I prefer the smaller size and monthly mobile bill and I am completely happy with it , my mate has a pro and it's a lovely phone but too big and top expensive for me
Your phone plan costs more depending on the phone you use? (Does the bigger one use more data?) I have never noticed mine change, but I don't change phones often
@@rowanwild7104 in the UK the monthly phone bill amount usually includes the cost of buying the phone so a 6a and unlimited data is cheaper than a 6 pro with unlimited data and easier to get as you are not "borrowing" as much so therefore it requires a lower credit score
Got the 6pro recently for the same price as a 6 (it was on sale) and while it took a little getting used to with the commands, I actually love it! I like the size of the phone bc its the same size as my hand which feels sturdy to me, and the camera is actually no joke (I took a photo of my leg and could see the individual hairs in high definition) - also takes like an hour maybe less to charge my phone fully
Pixels are still quite poor when it comes to screen brightness, even the pro . I just wish they would up the brightness nits . That's one of my main niggles with these phones
so what are your thoughts? Which is the phone to buy??

Neat review, but had read elsewhere that the fingerprint sensor was much better on the 6a. Is it really just as bad as on the 6 & 6pro?
The updates have improved it. Testers for Android 13 have also said it was better.
@@MrPontiac005 Ta for that. 👍
I am enjoying my experience with the pixel 6, after the exaggerated reviews from these tech influencers who claim to be reviewers, i was anxious, but the phone is just so good, could not ask for anything more. also, good job with the review, hope you dont become a black and red influencer too, as you grow.
How is the battery going with you? How many hours do you get out of it until you have to charge it again?
@@tasneemibrahim I get almost 2 days for my usage. screen on of about 5 hours.
The fact that all these photos look exactly the same to me lets me know im a pixel 6a guy lol which is the one i bought and havent regretted at all
Thank you for your great video, what abouts Pixel 6 / 6 Pro gate 6 months later ? Are the problem still ?
all the pixels have dropped greatly..$670 for the pro at best buy, 6A for $150 with a trade-in
Just discovered you, great honest review I feel. You really help people with choices. I have been wondering for some time, what can I afford what is the best deal. I will go for the 6a. Regards.
I really hope they make the pro screens flat going forward. Not a fan of the curved displays.
I just got a less than a month old Pixel 6 pro off swappa for 495. Can’t beat that
Just noticed the six pro is around $310 on Amazon renewed in Excellent Condition .. 👌
Hey! How's it going?
One question. Were you talking about yourself or the cam when you said "looks pretty good!" comparing front cameras?
Jking ;D
great video, thanks so much, question at the start of your video a see a phone in a frame.
The real test is if it will be better than my previous phone, the Huawei P30.
how did 6a hold up ?
9:29 "Telephoto instead of Ultra wide lense" (Google about Pixel 4)
Watching this on November 27, 2022 and I am getting the pixel 7 Regular black Friday special with trade in for $188 dollars, I am feeling rewarded :) great videos as usual Mike.
How is Gorillas glass more resistant to crack than the plastic of the 6a??
Disagree, Ultrawide-Angle lens is SO much more important than a telephoto lens. But great video 👍
Google always does a good job making you feel like a clown for buying the "pro" version on release... they lowered the price $100, they should give us a credit or something towards the 7 pro
Nice detailed video and to the point. I love your clean delivery 👍🏾
@MikeOBrienGiveAway On Telegram scam
Amazing video....love how you have the same wallpaper on all 3 phones...gives a good perspective...:)
Thanks!
In my country pixel 6 and 6a got no service so should i proceed with pixel 6 or 6a??
will pixel 7 launch makes pixel 6 pro price low? any decrease?
I am also betting winter sales will bring the price even lower.
Any major differences when using Graphene OS?
its 2023 and im looking to buy a broken 6a and a replacement screen from ifixit for £200 total
Are these phones plagued by overheating like the 5a?
As a standard 6 owner, I see no reason to even consider the 6A, the price difference in real life is so small. The Pro is nice and all, but it's too expensive for what it offers IMHO. If you're going that high, grab a Samsung/Apple phone and call it a day. The whole point of the new Pixel series is the value for dollar you get, and the standard 6 is the sweet spot all the way.
6a:
-Smaller size
-Better battery life (can confirm, used both the 6a and 6)
-Lowest price
Pixel 6 is better otherwise.
I just change from the 6 to the 6a for the size only. Damn, it's good! Better battery life and better speakers. But I see your point, the regular 6 is a great device.
I forgot, screen is brighter on the 6a, tho' the 6's is more than bright enough in my opinion.
@@JoVERICAIN Congratulations how much you got it and is it worth buying and does it get hot during use?!
Lol
Did you experience and bugs from any of the phones when you were using them?
Is the Google Pixel a 4K camera phone?
How do I get my Pixel 3a XL out of a boot loop?
I don't have a Google Pixel phone and they all sound good but, you need to look at the money and the amount that you like the phone because you are the one that is using it.
Watching video from Bangladesh ❤
Using pixel 6 😊❤ thank you so much!
During BBD sales in India pixel 6a is selling for 350$
im still using the pixel 5 decent phone and no problems but unsure whether to get for the 7 when it comes out or if there will be big changes on the 8 and wait a year for that?
Wait for the 8 your p5 is still good for at least another year
Mike, in my opinion first it depends on how much money people can spend and second it depends on how good the phone is.
No way I'd have paid 899 for the Pro but I got it for 622 open box in perfect condition, saving just 78 when it was listed at best buy (barf) for 700. Shrug. I'm happy with it.
I would jump on the 6A if it had a higher screen refresh rate atleast 75hz would be nice. 90hz would be fair
If only Google talked about their lens choice for the Pixel as you did in 9:29 that would be more convincing than only showing off the super res zoom. loved your opinion.
I myself own a 13pm I still grabbed the 6a for a secondary. I actually find myself on it More than my iPhone
Maybe it's the time of day for me, but comparing three phones with such similar names, instead of two phones is making my head spin. I'll give it another go tomorrow.
Great job man, as always! 3 phones thats gotta be difficult to manage haha!
Ive 6A the only thing im.missing is fast charging. The 60hz issue is bullshit. It feels smooth as silk. Its a neat phone.
Refresh rate is overrated. I use 60hrz even if the display supports 120. Also prefer the plastic back over glass.
The 6 is definitely best value, good comparison, still don't know which to get or to hold out for the 7 pro 😂
Google failed the 6 pro by putting a damn curved display, it made no sense to put a curved display… the 6 pro could of been a great phone loved by everyone if it had high quality flat display.. instead it looks like a bootleg Samsung. No wonder iPhone is the best selling
Just ordered a pixel 6 (buy used with a great deal) and yup, I didn't like the 7, sold the 7 2 months ago and now I'm buying a 6. Will I regret??? Lol
I've had my O.G seafoam green pixel 6 since launch i love it.
It's a scam
Mike, your the man bro. Always making awesome content.
Mic your bro, man.
Usually
@@MrPontiac005 They work off prototypes instead of getting exact measurements so to assure proper case or skin fitment?
These are great reviews. Thanks.
i do think a plastic back is better lol... wish the 6 and pro had it
why so many refurbished google pixel on sale ? enourmous amount on amazon and ebay . barely ever see xaiomi refurbished
Also, bring back face unlock on the Google Pixel phones...... it's a great feature on my Google Pixel 4 XL
Best review without posh attitude! I'll get the 6a then as it fits in one hand without too much of a problem.
I'm a little late, but don't worry. I always make time for these reviews. One of the best channels out there!
Thanks, Jerry! I really appreciate the support!
6a is now 299 on Amazon. I have one (mine was free with a new line I needed anyway) it is an exceptional device for the value. I really prefer the size and the 2 12 MP cameras do a remarkable job.
Is that new or used one?
6a is not a midrange phone by a mile in India, that is the problem...
watching this on a 6a and it's a gorgeous phone I prefer the smaller size and monthly mobile bill and I am completely happy with it , my mate has a pro and it's a lovely phone but too big and top expensive for me
Your phone plan costs more depending on the phone you use? (Does the bigger one use more data?) I have never noticed mine change, but I don't change phones often
@@rowanwild7104 in the UK the monthly phone bill amount usually includes the cost of buying the phone so a 6a and unlimited data is cheaper than a 6 pro with unlimited data and easier to get as you are not "borrowing" as much so therefore it requires a lower credit score
Got a pixel 6a, hope it will be good
Got the 6pro recently for the same price as a 6 (it was on sale) and while it took a little getting used to with the commands, I actually love it! I like the size of the phone bc its the same size as my hand which feels sturdy to me, and the camera is actually no joke (I took a photo of my leg and could see the individual hairs in high definition) - also takes like an hour maybe less to charge my phone fully
where did you get it from? can I buy it from India?
@@RishabhKashyapofficial buy pixel 7!
Pixel 6a has Sony cameras, which are better than samsung, like on and pro.
Good review. It explains a lot. Thanks.
60hz wont over drive the processor
As a recent 6 Pro owner there's a noticeable difference in the screen quality in terms of brightness and obviously the 120hz.
Pixels are still quite poor when it comes to screen brightness, even the pro . I just wish they would up the brightness nits . That's one of my main niggles with these phones
Curved screen 🤢🤢🤢
@@DawnCrusader4213 the camera is outstanding. Better than any iPhone.
