Wish I seen your video sooner. Watched three others and none of them shared torque spec. I found some online but don’t think it was right. It stated 29lbs lol.
Anyways thanks for measuring the depth of gasket! I noticed mines was higher than old one too. I had to just close it as it’s getting dark but now I might re-open everything to retorque it lol
Or wait til I see a leak :)

That engine bay is clean compared to mine. It’s covered in oil everywhere so this will be my next job.

Oh yeah oem is best for Honda civics and I even used Barr’s engine o ring restorer to soften up my 50,000 mile valve cover gasket. Silicone sucks folks unless it’s wipers. Use HondaBond on the corners not the crappy parts store silicone. Or that Honda Civic will leak on the transmission 😂

I didn't use adhesive on that 2 areas in this video and it leak. So I use high temperature RTV in that 2 spots and it fixed the leak.

@@NoHandleNameScrewTube I have not try Hondabond. I use high temperature RTV and it seem to work.

Yea I used the red rtv silicone base on another video. I want to double check if it’s compatible for oil now lol or use the Honda Bond this guy keep mentioning lol

This is happening to me! First mechanic fixed a leak but said there was other possible leaks. Took car to other mechanic and he said it's the valve gasket. So it's probably seal, or value gasket.

Use non silicone gaskets and always use only Hondabond on the corners of the cam area of the valve cover gasket. Or it will leak. Honda bond is formulated to resist oil for this.
