    I purchased from Amazon bubble wrap pouches that I slide my ornaments in, then just stack them in my plastic tubs. They don't take up a lot of room and then they are protected much better. Happy holidays!

    I like your reminder of "It's a good experiment and you'll learn something". I appreciate that because sometimes we so want something to work and are afraid to fail that a reminder of "It's okay" is much appreciated and takes the pressure off. You're right, Laura, sometimes that's the best way to learn! 🙏

    The answer for the question 'Why so Many Christmas Trees Is' BECAUSE SHE CAN-----lololol I understand the question but I also understand and LOVE what Laura does. I would expect nothing less. Laura has the trees inside and Aaron well he gets to see if he can have his yard show up in the space station. lol Like that movie with Danny Davito.

    Neglected amaryllis success story: Many years ago (20+?) two of my beloved guy cousins gave my mom a amaryllis bulb for Christmas. They were young adults, so I’m sure it wasn’t from some fancy expensive bulb. Most every year, that crazy thing blooms at least once! No dormancy period, nothing. She has it against a western window under grow lights with other houseplants such as orchids (yes, she gets most of those to survive and re-bloom also.) Our guess is that the window gets cool enough during our zone 5-6 winters to trick the bulb into blooming. My cousins, who live far away, can’t believe it is still going strong, every time we text them a photo of it in bloom again. It’s so old, there wasn’t even texting when it was just a thoughtful Christmas gift!

    • @TheYoghurt42
      @TheYoghurt42 3 года назад +3

      I don't think amaryllis need a cold period in order to bloom, or at least not very cold. I live in subtropical Australia, about a zone 10 i think. We get no freezing temps all year and amaryllis are a very popular garden bulb that bloom in the spring every year with no trouble.

In this video, hearing you talk about Benjamin’s tree and his love and excitement of the decorations and lights. Watching your feelings bubble up while talking about it, really touched me. I wonder how Aaron reacts/feels while filming you and seeing your love coming through in these special moments. Just something I was wondering as I was watching this video. Hi Laura and Aaron! First of all, thank you for answering my question about the heater, I was so confused, but it makes perfect sense. I'm sometimes amazed at the questions you chose to answer. Especially the ones that seem pretty personal and the ones you've already answered in other videos. You two are so gracious in what you do for all of us, and it is really appreciated. I have a fairly small house and only room for one tree, but it would be fun to have the extra room for more. I got , a new piece of furniture, a console table, last year just before Christmas and put it where I always put up a tree and didn't want to move it, so I didn't put up a tree last year, and I must say that I really missed it and seeing the pretty lights. I put Poinsettias on the stand with a Christmas garland, which was really pretty, but it wasn't the same, especially without the lights. Lesson learned. I'll just have to find a place for my table this year. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Has anyone else noticed those over the door wreath holders damage the door?? I’ve had a few and all have done damage. Maybe the wind making it move around too much? I’ve started using an upside down command hook on the inside of the door, and then use ribbon or twine to hang the wreath on the other side. No damage and no air gaps.

    • @eileenchang2173
      @eileenchang2173 3 года назад

      Great idea. I just bought a new fibreglass door I did not even want to put anything on the door. I think your suggestion about putting the command hook upside down on the inside part is much better than putting one on the outside because I truly believe that with time the sunshine would bake the adhesive onto the door. I’ve had a couple of command hooks in my sunroom, where upon removal it still peeled off the paint. These little command hooks were only up there for one year and there was no strong direct sunlight onto the wall.Nothing is full proof. So I decided to go with creating an extra large holiday urn on the outside of my door to match the colour of my door and it’s beautiful.

    • @Stephanie-cq8mf
      @Stephanie-cq8mf 3 года назад

      @@eileenchang2173 I have also had good luck with command hooks on glass outdoors. But agree about it being risky to use on a painted surface outside in the elements. Inside I only had it pull off the paint when I was removing it too hastily. I’ve found I hold the plastic firmly with one hand and pull down very slowly on the adhesive until it lifts off gently. When I’ve rushed it, off came the paint 😬.

    For the Arb in a pot you could tip it over and cut out the bottom like Bunny Guinniess does. For your root cellar, I recommend a hook lock on the outside high up so the children can't get access. My mom did that with a room that had a fridge and freezer in it so we couldn't get stuck in them as kids.

    Laura, I found your Channel early spring ( when I needed info on re-potting my new lemon tree) I have loved every video since, I’m Hooked on Garden Answer 👍 you have helped me to have a Wonderful Garden this year, thank You. My Question is... I need help , my Re-Potting went Good, I thought 💭, I acclimated it from my deck- under the covered part before coming inside. It had Beautiful new growth I have had Lemons on it since summer, After 2 weeks inside, the Leaves started dropping, 😭, to the point 60% gone. We went & bought yet another pot thinking maybe the other pot was too wide. It has stopped dropping leaves, ( I think I might have overwatered it?) I had a water gage thing it said wet, so that’s another reason I knew we had to get it out of the other pot, lemon trees don’t like wet feet. My ? Now is..... should I trim some of the bare branches off? I have BABIED it so much, it’s been about 2 1/2 weeks since repotting and a good watering, I still have not watered it. Sorry if this note seems all over the place, xoxo , Susan from Alabama zone 7B ❤️ hope y’all had a Beautiful Thanksgiving 🦃🍁🥰

      In the search bar here on youtube you can type in “Garden Answer” and whatever subject. For example, I recently brought a couple of African Violets, so I searched for “Garden Answer African Violets” and a bunch of videos popped up. Currently Aaron has made playlists of videos by year, in chronological order from newest to oldest in that year.

      Laura has answered this question before. I dont remember what recap video it was but she said he has lots of storage, I'm guessing external hard drives, and as she mentioned in this recap video...he is serious about everything being organized, so he has all previous videos named in a way that he can easily search and find it. I wish I could remember what video she talks about this in

    I forgot about my Amaryllis Bulbs too ! On Sunday I spent a snowy day inside our heated greenhouse/sunroom. I put them in a large group like you did! I enjoyed the day so much.
    My husband spent awhile creating a beautiful Planter Christmas arrangement. It looks so nice. It is nice to be able to gather green boughs from ourCedar, Pine, and Spruce trees. He also used red dog wood here and make some pretty containers.

    Just planted bulbs for my first time this year but then did some reading that for our zone 9b I maybe should have waiting till early spring, late winter to plant so it will be a learning experience to see how they do..

    I can’t imagine the rib pain. I suffered quite a bit with it, but not as badly as you have. Soon soon. Home stretch! 🤗

    Put your window boxes where Benjamin can have his own raised beds to plant in!

      @sharon gauss I have to say that is an awesome idea!!! Imagine Benjamin growing & harvesting his own strawberries! 🍓 I’ll bet he’d love planting alongside his mother.

    I've never cared for artificial trees but 2 years ago we got a micro dot tree like yours and we love it. I fell in love with it at the store and had to have it. The little lights are like stars, they're magical. I always set mine on white and do traditional Christmas colors.

    I had my first two kids 15 months apart. Those two never got into cupboards, or anything. I told them about the dangerous stuff, I just never had trouble from them. Till they got older than all hell broke loose but that was in the midst of some other family stuff. Then i had a baby 9 years later and help me Jesus she was like having a daycare full of kids in my home. She would get into one thing i would be dealing with that and she was already at something else. I used to put a note on my door threatening anyone who knocked or rang my doorbell while she was asleep. I would even take her on a hour and a half long sea-doo ride so she would nap when we were at the cottage. That was the only way she would sleep. Anywho...Benjamin is a sweet soul and i am sure baby girl is too. But girls can be DRAMATIC.

      Nancy Deis I totally understand, my first two were super chill and the third threw me up against the wall! The on,y thing is, they were ALL girls! Girls can be dramatic, but they aren’t always. Payback, though, because that particular daughter has a little one that’s even more “spirited”(as she calls her) than she was when she was little! Lol!

    Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Glad you’re enlisting some help with all of those bulbs. You have so many videos on planting bulbs already. People just need to use the search option to find them. The process is the same every time. It’s the spring display that will be the big surprise!
