    Thank you so much for working with Greg & everyone to spread awareness about our craft! We believe people need to slow down sometimes and a water feature coupled with a beautiful garden is the perfect way to relax & decompress. We had planned to be there but had a family emergency which wouldn't allow us to come but we were there in spirit and watching from the edge of our seat the whole time! Just so so glad you & Aquascape connected, we can do great things ❤❤❤

    Laura, many many years ago now I was always one of the first to do things for others or volunteer etc etc. But I personally felt awkward about accepting anything from others. However, a very wise elderly woman from my church had a gentle conversation with me. She pointed out that I needed to be a gracious receiver lol. She stated that if someone else is compelled to do something kind for myself or my children, I needed to not just allow it, but be a gracious receiver about it. Otherwise, I am keeping them from doing what the Lord put on their hearts to do. Thereby taking away their own Blessings from the Lord. As we Bless others with kindness, we receive Blessings in our hearts from the act of the kindness. And we shouldn't deprive others from said Blessings.
    She was a very wise woman lol. I had never viewed it that way before. But she was right. The reason I enjoyed doing for others is because it makes my heart ❤️ feel full. It was selfish to not allow someone else that same wonderful feelings.

      Think of all the monster cypress trees hidden in our rivers here in SC…….one of them was raised to fix the iconic bridge at Magnolia Gardens ruined by a recent hurricane………the log dated to approximately the same time period as the cypress used in the original build (200 years ago) so the repair was seamless. It was quite the engineering effort and the local news reported the process down to the last detail. Also, think of all the shipwrecks that have been raised and restored thru the years.

    This is kind of unrelated, but I just wanted to let you know you’ve inspired an interest in me for finding concrete pieces for my own fairly new garden, so my husband surprised me with an afternoon out yesterday for a date at our local concrete sculpture and container shop. We had so much fun! When I stood in their formal fountains area, surrounded by all the tinkling water sounds and the traffic noise went away, I really got it-why you love water features. We were looking for a few fun, whimsical pieces first-a pair of concrete bulldogs for some fun, winter interest when my giant Boston ferns die after the first good frost; the gargoyle garden guardian statue I’ve had my heart set on since we first started gardening; and some more formal urns, bird baths, and concrete pumpkins I’ve got my eye on now. We followed it up with a trip to the pumpkin farm stand we took our son to when he was little for hayrides and pumpkin picking to do a little produce, quiche, pie, and jam shopping afterward, then out for hoagies after, too. Felt kind of like one of your shopping-with-Mom vlogs. 😁 It was just a great date day for us and a really fun time. Thanks again for the inspiration. 🫶🏼

Only people in Florida can have pools? Come on! I live in Arizona (low desert) and everyone (except me 😢) has a pool around here. By the way… it STILL doesn’t rain here. So no matter how many pools / water features it doesn’t evaporate enough to cause a detriment on the environment.

    This was a wonderful experience to share with us. I tried to enjoy it everyday as we sat inside watching Hurricane Milton destroy all our trees..gardens and lani. I missed some when the wifi and electricity went out. So I watch them later...it was definitely my happy time❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 congratulations on your pond and dream stream 😊

      Hi Gail~Milton surely was a doozey! Sorry to hear of your damages, but encouraged to hear your power is back on. We still have trees ON powerlines & wires down crossing our street. Duke's hoping to get us back online by Tuesday midnight.
      I'm 🙏🏼 this will happen as gas is in high demand & in short supply.
      Good Luck with repairs.🤞Let's hope nothing else blows our way.🙄

    Thank you for sharing information about the process of the dream stream and the costs. Watching your videos, I try to guesstimate how much things might cost if I was to repeat it here in Williamsburg VA and this is one of those that I couldn’t quite get a handle on. I was guessing on your pond based on my stream costs but WOW that’s a lot of money…what a gift to get that from Greg etal. It’s absolutely fabulous!!!!

    I wanted to say this when you first started the dream stream reveal. The two diggers ( sorry I do not know the real name of them, keep wanting to say back how but I don't know) with them placed together as a heart. You did finally see and point it out. That was just one drop of precious shots I saw in this building. Love what you do and know exactly why these great group of people picked you to do it for. Thank you for all you do.❤

    Aaron is so down to Earth, yet there is the right amount of yeah i can be funny. The Gold, maybe we have found some already, smiling the whole time. So glad he's in videos more now. He's smart and such a delight. He knows Laura well also. On being a protective dad around heavy machinery, absolutely. Children just don't have the sense of danger around something they find so fascinating. Not only a rock coming loose, but the driver is concentrating on the job,an being able to see all around the machine itself is probably impossible. With just men working they know to stay clear, not so a little boy. Feel no quilt dad,Benjamin forgot about it as other things were happening and happening fast. Look from afar in a safe place. I just felt like Susan was there to help with her grandchildren and of course for the lemonade slushies. Then doing a bit of house cleaning and laundry, I'm not surprised, that's how this family rolls. Love you keeping it real when it came to the question on weeds. That you do have help with these jobs, Bethany keeping up on it an i see you weeding also.

  • @RachelTsTime
    @RachelTsTime Месяц назад +7

    The trick for weeds she mentioned about getting after it in the spring helped me SO much this year. I mulched right after and once you’ve got that the weeds are much easier to remove ❤❤❤ so there is of course the maintenance but they’re EASIER to get out so it’s not as bad as the first go around and then you’ve got your rhythm as you plant the new things ❤

      Works in a dry climate, but not in places where we get regular rain. It is a constant battle and every time you turn around there’s a new crop of weeds coming up-they just differ based on the seasons.

    You can try and make your own or use capillary mats like from Water Pulse (Walmart started using them in 2014). I worked in a greenhouse that used them on our plant benches and they work great. We just used a hose end timer hooked up to a water spigot and watered every other day, depending on weather (you can set the timer for your needs). It works best if the table is flat and if the plants are in similar size pots AND share similar water needs. The mats use the drip tape between black plastic on the bottom and capillary matting on top of the tape, then a layer of heavy duty landscape fabric. Water Pulse sews the sides and will custom size the mats for you. What a relief to not have to water by hand and the plants did great.

WE, the viewers, all have to remember this is inspirational, not necessarily achievable on the same scale. It takes staff, resources, free supplies/labour, to get the results that are shown on the videos. I am inspired and feel better connected with the open transparency re costs.

    I am so very fortunate to have inherited my Great-Grandpa's cactus, nor sure if it's a Christmas or Easter as it seems to bloom on its own schedule 😏 A good estimation is that it is at the very least 150 years old! He was in his 90s when he passed as was my Grandpa, and I'm now 73. My younger granddaughter loves plants and gardening, something she inherited from her Great-Grandpa, so she will inherit it as the 6th generation!❤️ My Dad had both his Great-granddaughters out in his gardens with him before they could walk💞💞💞 My younger granddaughter wants to homestead my parent's property, now mine, as she says, "when you no longer need it Grammy."🤗😅😅
