Hi Laura and Aaron it was such a pleasure to meet both of you at the aquasape event - I loved your channel before the event but after meeting the both of you I love it even more. I found my hobby in gardening a few years ago and it helped encourage me to retire - thanks again for your inspirations. You both are truly wonderful people
I hope it helps to know that I’m sure I’m not the only one who yes, loves to see the gardens in their prime and looking beautiful, but also likes to see the reality of things you deal with and how you overcome obstacles like mites and so on. The gardens don’t have to be perfect to maintain your content and viewership in my opinion. I like how you say you learn more from failing than from research and we get to learn along with you. 💕
Just had to mention that “Lyda Rose” is a song in the movie The Music Man. That’s gonna be stuck in my head all day!😂 Love the recaps and your funny interactions as a couple. Major props for keeping married life real!
Ordered my kneeling pad after last week’s recap video. The entire process was efficient & stress free. I got a text yesterday notifying me it had been delivered. I opened my front door & to my delight there sat a box sealed with tape stamped with your logo. As a retired nurse with decades of wear & tear on my joints I’m always looking to work smarter not harder. The width & thickness does not disappoint & will provide much needed cushioning. The quality is equal to the standard you’ve set with your videos. I look forward to using my ‘garden girl’ (as my husband has deemed you) pad for years to come. Good job!
We so enjoyed getting to meet you both at the Aquascape event!!! My daughter Aria (the one who gave you a pink polk a dotted gift bag with some art work) has been over the moon since! The first thing she said was "Laura hugged me!" Haha. You made a little girls YEAR ❤️ you two are just as pleasant and kind in person as you come across in your videos. Again, it was wonderful meeting you both and thank you for coming out and doing the meet and greet!
Regarding the tea… If you feel that a tea is too bitter and dry, it usually means that the water was too hot and you let the tea steep too long. Especially green tea can‘t take boling water. Try a good quality loose leaf green tea, water temperature between 70 to 80 degrees Celsius (don’t know the degrees Fahrenheit from the top of my mind) and only let it steep 1 minute. You can use the leaves for subsequent steeps but decrease the steeping time (30 seconds). If you use too hot water and/or too long steeping time you extract too much tannins. And instead of a lovely mild delicacy you receive nasty bitter and dry leaf juice.
Thankyou ! I don’t like tea either except peppermint for when I’m sick , but I never knew how to brew it . I’m going to try this since I can’t have more then two cups of coffee a day .
Good info. I've learned to like some teas mainly herbal teas. I still prefer coffee and wine. 😉 That said, I'm growing a few plants in pots--tea pots, get it? 😂 I started Chamomile, Anise Hyssop, and Agastache. They're looking pretty good, but I still need to read about how to utilize them. I think I saw that you can make them into tea from both fresh and dried. 🤔🍵
Speaking to the “comments”… there was a comment that someone posted that you responded to and I loved your reaction and comment…someone had wanted you to change your opening statement “Hi guys”…the look on your face was so perfect…it said volumes without the bait that it was. LOVE the channels and have learned so much. I love the interactions that you and Aaron have whether you are in agreement or not!
Hi Laura and Aaron! My sister and I had such a wonderful time meeting both of you. You both were so kind and gracious. It was my first meet and greet experience. A few years back, I found your channel as a new mom struggling with my new role, a global pandemic and postpartum depression. I started watching every day and it felt I was out in the garden with a dear friend. I took my son outside with me and started spending time in my own garden again. Over time, I started to feel like myself again. Thank you both so much for showing us your family life and sharing your passion for gardening with us.
I appreciate your honesty and I can relate to needing the mental health boost after the pandemic and teaching on-line I found myself depressed and found health and healing through Laura’s virtual garden!😊❤ I’ve become a member because I have found this channel is a life-saver!
I completely appreciate that you keep the posting close to the date. Other channels that have 3+ weeks or more, their gardening activites don't reflect whats happening as much. We learn so much from you all
I know it's hard to show the pest riddled areas, but finding out that you guys are also struggling with it too is so helpful. I've had so much pest pressure this season that I figured it was just me and wanted to give up. Hearing I'm not alone, even among the pros, is so encouraging.
I pray you had a safe trip home with all the hoopla in the airports. I love starting my day with garden answer. On Saturdays I’m so sad. I think, “ugh no Laura today!” But then I get excited because sometimes you post on Saturdays during the busy season, so I get up to check. lol 😂😂you make so many of us happy by just posting your videos. On Sundays it is a special treat because we get Aaron too. ❤❤❤
It was amazing to meet both of you, and the Aquascape event was unbelievable! My daughter and I attended and made some great memories. Thanks for inviting us along on this blessed life of yours. ❤
Morning to Laura and Aaron and the rest of my GA friends! I am so so so happy to report that my Maverick geraniums are finally budding up! (Zone 4 Alaska) Thank you for all your encouragement!
Hi laura. I've wanted to mention this before. The Lyda rose is pronounced lie-da. If you've ever seen The Music Man, they sing a song about Lyda Rose! It's fun! Love your videos. 💕
I wanted to say “ Laura you are so generous in giving your flowers away: your mom, your mother-in-law (Benjamin took over) t nursing home, your friends came and cut some, and others. You have a giving heart 💜
I super appreciate you keeping it real by disclosing your spider mite issues! That helps me more than you know, in dealing with all the shenanigans that pop up in my own garden. Currently discovered the horror of bagworms! Hearing about your issues helped me realize that it's normal and a part of the cost of creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
Laura and Aaron, You both are just as genuine and wonderful in real life. We spent 30 years in Chicago before we Moved south in 2020 - we are so happy to have met you and the whole aquascape team Yesterday ! Dream come true .. we gave you the root beer bottle and somehow landed first in line. We are all so fortunate to be the recipients of your talent, warmth and kindness ! Thank goodness for you tube ! Hope you had a stellar Chitown weekend ! We did ❤️
I’m sure that fighting the battle with spider mites, aphids and thrips is super frustrating for you and Aaron but I so appreciate you sharing the good, bad, ugly of what is happening in your garden this year. It helps your viewers see what can happen in certain climates and garden situations along with different ways that are available to us to handle garden issues. Thank you so much.
A big part of your charm on this channel is how real you guys are. (Besides for me the fact that I know your area so well having grown up there.) But it’s refreshing (and educational) when you have such success and beauty with your gardens despite the struggles with Ph, spider mites, malfunctioning irrigation, tears in shirts, heat waves - all the things. And you show those things and their solutions. It makes you feel like friends or even family. Thank you for all you do. 🙏💚💚💚
Hi Laura! My husband and I watch the recap video over coffee every week. I would love to see a tour of the things that you are struggling with in your garden. You mentioned the problems you are having with spider mites: I realize you want to focus on the positives but it would make those of us who struggle with the same things (and MAJOR deer pressure) feel a little better! Northern Virginia 7a
Bonjour, I had ordered a kneeling pad from you at the beginning of this year and I was well aware of the cost of customs and shipping . I am so happy I did so because it is so comfortable for my knees. It was worth the price, the taxes, the customs and shipping fees. It was my birthday gift. I am just sad that pink was not available at the moment, but I have the one with the logo. Thank you for everything! 🙌
Reflecting on how you would start your cut flower garden differently if you were beginning today shows a thoughtful and proactive approach. Your willingness to learn and adapt demonstrates a deep passion for gardening and a commitment to growing beautifully. The insights you share are not only valuable but also inspire others to refine their own gardening practices. Your dedication to improving and evolving in your craft is truly admirable. And I am Floating Village Life.
Hi Laura and Aaron - please don’t stop shipping to Canada! I live in Calgary Alberta and love my Laura addition 3” auger and want to get some larger ones. Once you get the product and start using it you forget about the extra shipping fees - totally worth it! Thank-you for what you do, I love your videos and have learned SO much.
I enjoy the recap so much as I love the conversation between you and Aaron. It's obvious that you have a very special relationship and respect for each other. The weeks videos are, again, awesome. 🤗
I struggled with mites every year and tried everything. I now have sprinklers set to spray everything once a day and haven’t seen a mite since. It’s the dry they love.
“Special people” 😂 I love it! I saw the rip in your shirt but I didn’t want you to feel bad nor did I want to be put on the “special people” list. So, kept my observation to myself. 😎 Love you guys and look forward to all your videos!!
😂 lol never noticed the rip in the shirt but had I, I would not have cared! Life is life and kuddos to you for not caring and being normal and thrifty like the rest of us.
@@peggy-ann1961😂 FYI my son is currently vacationing in Canada and going to send me some goodies. Hello to you from Texas from a fellow North American. ❤
@@peggy-ann1961It is indeed a beautiful nation! He is currently in Winnipeg. I am not sure where else as of now, he is 23 so he doesn't tell me as often as I would like 😂😅.

It was so awesome meeting you yesterday at Aquascape! I mean, the ponds were cool, but LAURA! That was the highlight of my summer! Now I am extra recharged to get working in my space again. One tip I recently discovered and wanted to share is that you can get spray isopropyl alcohol at Dollar General (I think those are national stores) and use it to spray pruners in between plants. I carry a bottle in my "garden cart" aka the Can-Am side by side and it has lasted quite a while. Thanks again for coming to Chicago, I know you hate leaving. 💚💚💚✂️
Laura I noticed your split in your shirt but it just added to the overall look of working in the garden. I love your videos here in Perth Western Australia and as a gardener myself it is a joy to watch. I am now of an age where I could not do a lot but I find I can provide ourselves with summer salad veg, flowers, cabbages, broccoli etc. Thank you also for sharing your family with us, they are beautiful, your kids, husband, your mom and dad (a character indeed), your sister. Keep well and happy. 🥰
I’ve already reviewed my small pink pad and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It’s so vibrant and pretty. I ordered the large as well even though I have your other ones. My husband can have the red one… the pink is mine. You should plan to have it as a stock color. A vibrant turquoise or aqua I think people would really like as well.
One thing you might want to consider is to have a Canadian distribution point for all your Canadian followers. Shipping from US is exorbitant as I'm sure you realize so to purchase anything from your website is financially undoable with the exchange, duty and shipping.
There are US Companies that ship to a US address at the border, substantial reduction in cost. You physically go to Customs and pay the duties yourself. It works awesome.
As an older person I have to express my GRATITUDE for access to the Mesto Sprayer!!! I can finally spray my plants with a handheld sprayer without my arthritic hands aching. It is a MARVELOUS. I have one question though. Is it necessary to empty the water out of the container between uses due to the metal attachment on the inner tube potentially degrading?
So interesting to hear your struggles with mites and how some areas don’t look good. Would you consider sharing some of those issues with us on camera? I know you want things to look great, but sometimes problems are reassuring.
Laura, I love clothes, handbags, shoes, jewelry...all the things! That with gardening makes for very expensive hobbies! 🙃 There is an ease in dressing for function. You could wear a paper bag and be beautiful with your hair, eyes and smile...not to mention your kind personality. 💚
Love my kneeling pads!! I bought two. I alternate one in front of the other and can crawl around instead of having to get up and down or push up and move one forward. Also, with them being longer if I sit on my knees it’s so nice they cover my whole leg.
Thank You for the extra work you did to keep us fed with your videos. When I saw you were away I thought oh no, what will I do without my Garden Answer videos. But you planned it so you didn't miss a beat. I bet you saw some things on your trip you now want to add to your property. I would want that waterfall grotto for your new stream. And I saw this interesting grass on a ponds edge I hadn't seen before.
I love my Sunday mornings with Laura and Aaron. Thanks. I'm in Canada too and wouldn't even consider looking at your store because of shipping but I sure would if I lived in the USA.
It is hilarious people ask how old you are all the time. When you were doing a tour at the garden center you said you were born in 1984. I think you have mentioned how old you were when you had Samantha (36) I would give anything to be young like you again. Enjoy your youth! I really enjoy watching your videos learning names of plants and how to care for them. You have a lovely family. Sounds like you have a balanced life. People that have negative comments are probably just jealous.
Oh no! Don’t stop shipping overseas, please! I love that I was able to purchase a kneeling pad and a couple of mesto sprayers from you all the was from New Zealand. Budget’s a bit tight right now, but there are a few other things I’m eyeing up for when I am able to. Thanks for all your wonderful videos. I’ve learned so much even if we’re zones apart.
Thank you for the meet and greet this weekend. It was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive down there.. I'm watching the recap video now and my husband is falling to sleep listening to your voice. Lol. Hope you enjoyed your stay and had a safe trip home. You and Aaron we're both great to meet.
After seeing the El Niño chitalpa I got excited. No one in my area was carrying them so ordered one online from Garden Crossing in Zeeland Mi. Arrives looking great and planted it. So excited to see how it grows
Good morning! I'm having my coffee and enjoying my friends at Garden Answer! I to Laura do not enjoy dressing up, especially wearing dresses! I used to have to dress for a semi-formal dinner and would always look for pants suits!☺️ and hats really cause me aggravation, lol! I live your channel and have told many people about it. I love seeing all the different plants and now look for them when I'm out looking for plants for my garden space! I'm slowing down a bit as my age is keeping me from doing what I would have done when I was younger. But I am still getting it done!! Perennials are my go-to with a few annuals in pots! Thank you for all the info and the joy of sharing your garden and family!❤❤❤❤😊
It is so smart to get ahead a little bit with the videos because you can then take a break when you need to (for a few days off or to avoid the really hot weather). I hope you enjoyed Chicago.
Laura I really appreciate how you allow your garden to evolve; keep things and also give yourself the freedom to move areas on to the next phase like the cut flower garden. I’ve been rewatching old vlogs where you and Aaron first set up the first iteration of the cut flower garden four years ago. Amazing transformation! Question: would it be possible for you to do a deep dive into the trees you have planted on the property over the years? Which ones worked well, what you would do differently (if anything) and what advice you have once the trees are past that first five year mark. Thank you!
I also like to look at my flowers outside, not brought into my house. Although I’m going to plant a cut flower garden next year. I love the look of the abundance of beautiful flowers.
I am loving my El Niño Chitalpa that I planted in a large pot on my patio, north Texas zone 8. 🌸 It’s so great to find more PW plants in our nurseries these days. I attribute this to the popularity of your channel! 🧤 After learning more about the plant size, I can’t wait to transplant it into the ground this fall.
I SO agree Laura!! I despise getting dressed up. Give me my jeans any day! My mom always said when I pass, she was going to bury me in jeans...lol. I also am not fond of cut flowers in the house, but put them in my gardens to enjoy, oh yes!! It was a great week of videos, really enjoyed them. Hope you have a wonderful trip to Chicago, even if it is a short trip.
Have you ever tossed around the idea of offering an internship/apprenticeship type job for people to work with Paul/you/Aaron? As someone who grew up with parents doing gardening but never paid attention but now at 40 am really getting into, it’s a lot of info to learn from scratch.
Its really fun watching the evolution of your space. Its fun watching the seasons of your interest, meaning, okay, I did that, I love it, I want to do more, as well as, I did it, I'm done doing that, I want to try something different.
What kind of mulch is on top of the roses and in the pathways? It looks great and I would like to do that and would it work for a cut flower garden as well?

That song popped into my head as well. I wondered if that song inspired the grower to choose that name.
I thought to make the same comment. Clearly, it's an old barbershop quartet song. I love "The Music Man." 💗
I was going to comment about this too. So pronunciation is Lyda rhyming with the first part of Idaho.
Loved music man, but didn't put that name together with the song until you said that.... and yes. Now it will be stuck in my head, too!
Im so glad I wasnt the only one! My son was in the musical! Lyda Rose Im home again rose! LOL

I think this is spot on. I rarely drink hot tea anywhere but home, where I can keep my kettle set to a lower temp, steep less and enjoy more.
Most helpful @justgismo, now I know what I am doing incorrectly. Thanks of the info.
You are 100% correct. My friend owns a tea shop and this is exactly what she taught me too. Even coffee shouldn’t be brewed with boiling water.

Always start my morning watching you.
Yes, an aqua❤too!!!
Was wonderful meeting you and Aaron yesterday. I hope you have a safe flight home! ❤
Thanks for coming to Aqualand yesterday, it was fun meeting you and everyone else! You both are so sweet and humble❤️
Thanks for not skipping a whole week....I hate the one day a week. You are my morning coffee (I don't drink coffee or tea)
love the interaction between the two of you and they way you work well together
😊I felt so excited when you picked my question..thank you ..made my day..❤
It was so fun to meet you and Aaron yesterday, even if it was only for 30 seconds. Thanks for making the trip out to Chicago.
I love the recap videos so much! I can’t wait to see footage from the recent trip.
Love your videos and love the recaps. You are such a pleasure to watch and listen to. Thank you for doing these. Have a blessed day.
One thing you might want to consider is to have a Canadian distribution point for all your Canadian followers.
Shipping from US is exorbitant as I'm sure you realize so to purchase anything from your website is financially undoable with the exchange, duty and shipping.
Yes, would love to have a Canadian distribution centre.
Yesterday while weeding my side yard my kneeling pad arrived! I had the carrier bring it right to me and started using it right away. It is awesome!
Just received my small pink kneeling pad for my granddaughter. She really likes my large green so she was excited to get her own. Grateful service!
Love watching you guys, yous are so natural and honest, never a hint of fakeness in your channel, or persona.
Hi Laura and Aaron, I loved meeting you at the meet and greet! Thank you for inspiring my passion for gardening. It feeds my soul! 💚
I really appreciate the recap videos and I really like the q and a on the previous recap video. Thank you for all you do.
I love my kneeling pad... this sucker is so soft. Thank you!
It was such a pleasure meeting you both last night a wonderful evening and a great cause with a room full of great people.
Thank you for bringing the great weather to Chicago on your visit!!!
Thanks so much for all the great information. I love that you both have a great sense of humor! You both are fun to watch and I have learned so much!
Got mine! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get these to us. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Aloha, Yes, I missed that rip too. 🤣😂 I was so focus on the straight you had, pull out of the artichokes. You are so strong!! Wow!!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤
I SO agree Laura!!
Another informative and fun video 🤪🪴🌲🎉
Love the excitement of both you and Aaron at the end of this video about it’s such a beautiful day out … what are we going to do next😊🤣❤️
Good morning, Laura & Aaron☕️Another great recap as usual. Have a Blessed Day😊🐈🐈
So you need an Ontario Canada warehouse! Pick me!
Yay! Happy Sunday everyone! Can’t wait for this weeks videos! 😊♥️
Have you ever tossed around the idea of offering an internship/apprenticeship type job for people to work with Paul/you/Aaron? As someone who grew up with parents doing gardening but never paid attention but now at 40 am really getting into, it’s a lot of info to learn from scratch.
Got my pink kneeling pad! Well ordered, delivering in a day or two. Woo!
Its really fun watching the evolution of your space. Its fun watching the seasons of your interest, meaning, okay, I did that, I love it, I want to do more, as well as, I did it, I'm done doing that, I want to try something different.
Great video, love you both together, also love your hair. Best wishes from Australia.
What kind of mulch is on top of the roses and in the pathways? It looks great and I would like to do that and would it work for a cut flower garden as well?
Don't apologize if dresses are not for you. A pair of black dress slacks and a crisp white blouse is classic and always appropriate!
Dresses can make you crazy - too short, too long, too flowy, and then you need the "right shoes."
My pink kneeling pad is AWESOME! Great shopping/shipping experience. Thank you!
Your robot mower would be a good one for Monica in her backyard🙂
I got the message that my kneeling pad had arrived and couldn't wait to get home. Thank you so much.
Isn't it funny how how so many little things bring us joy !!
