Hey Chris. Solid video, I was researching it because, as I saw you say in the comments, Sony announced the OLED screen dual back button attachment that's coming out in January. $46 for a stock DualShock 4 and $30 for the paddle - a $76 total - will hopefully rival a SCUF controller. The only other major benefit I saw for SCUF was the tighter L2/R2 buttons, but since I'm primarily playing Apex Legends these days, they implemented trigger sensitivity settings in your options menu. Appreciate the honest review, amigo. I write reviews for a living (about a ton of gaming tech), and it's always good, and rare, to find someone with a fully honest review like this.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I’m looking forward to trying the Sony attachment as well. I’m a personal fan of the trigger system because I play cod competitively, but I have yet to decide if it’s 100% necessary. I’ll check out your channel
Scuf knows they can put out crap because they hold most of the market due to Sony not having an elite controller. It sickens me that I still want a scuf knowing how many people have had numerous problems
Ethan Scofield good news. Sony just announced a controller attachment that has back paddles. Look into it, it’s only $30-$40 I think, comes out early 2020. Also, Corsair recently acquired SCUF. Hopefully this means their quality will increase
Did you contact them and let them know you had problems? Also, if scuf was so horrible why would people buy the controllers. MrVideoscomingsoon paddles are preference. Scuf has always made then X on the left and O on the right. Or if you’re using Xbox, it’s A on the left and B on the right
Great video. I couldn’t justify the money for the scuff and having it potentially break, I opted for changing my analogue sticks for the magnetic Xbox elite type (£15 and 30mins of work) and personally I recon the rear paddles really wouldn’t make that much difference for 80% of players out there or at least someone of my ability. Changing my analogue sticks has took my game on a good bit, the feel of them is far better in weight and the height adjustment is fantastic, fortnite is mainly all I play.
That's pretty cool, I've never heard of that before but maybe I'll check it out. The paddles are definitely not necessary for everybody. I'm a call of duty player so jump-shotting is really important, but for most games the paddles may not be needed.
Chris Petrone rocks. And that’s crazy because I Ordered one of these controllers yesterday and I watched this video today and it’s crazy the red and black controller that you have is the same exact way I made mine

Just bought the scuf infinity a couple days ago.. this video was very helpful I’m just scared about it breaking on me like others have complained about 😬 but I’m overall excited to get it soon.
Lectrex hey Lectrex. They may have changed, but I had white sticks on one of my scufs and they worked just fine! White and black seem to be OK. Maybe it’s just the red ones that suck
Hey man. I bought the scuf controller without an EMR thingy. And than i realized that i need it to change the binds so i bought it without the controller. Will it still work?
Keyboard Trash it doesn’t work becuase you have to buy it with the controller to get the magnetic field in the controller. They should have informed us about that :(
when you pointed so specifically that the left paddle wasn’t being as responsive as it should, like tapping it for example, i flipped because that’s literally what’s happening to mine and i bought it last month i believe. I’m considering buying another set of paddles for the 4PS pro for 12$ and maybe it will work better. Thoughts?
Jawa Jake2002 sorry to hear that dude. Yea, I would try buying a new set of paddles. But also, you’re still within your warranty so I guess you could send it in for a repair. No promises they fix it though, I tried once and they sent it back the same
Chris Petrone you said it was a problem inside the controller. You think new paddles would even help? Just getting some details before i go ahead and spend 12$ on new paddles
Jawa Jake2002 had mine for about 3 years now, swapped the paddles out multiple times because it stopped being responsive. Found out the paddles werent the issue but the button they press itself was the issue. Clean the button with alcohol every now n then and it shud be fine. Done it multiple times on mine
the slippery feel on the colored grips goes away as you wear off the top layer and they eventually wear down completely to the plastic if you use them enough
Yes. The left paddle is X on the PS4, and the right paddle is O on the PS4 You can also buy a button remap key that lets you make them any button you want
But you can also adjust the bindings in PS Home Screen. To have X on my right paddle (in BO3) made a huge positive difference. And it will save you some money.
I already hate my scuff, just from one night playing call of duty and I am in love with my Astro controller having it for over a year, no issues whatsoever!!!
It really depends. If you order too close to Christmas, it might take a long ass time. I paid the extra money for rush shipping and I got it in just a few days. Normally though, it'll probably take like 10 business days.
I’ve heard good thinks about the Cinch controllers. Alternatively, you could try the attachment that goes on a regular PS4 controller. I believe it’s called the FPS Dominator or something. I have a video on it
Hi, good video thank you for the overview you explained it very understandable and clear! My 1st Scuf controller (Infinity Pro) arrived yesterday but it will take a while until I can use the full potential of this controller. The pedals are sooo useful but it is a process to learn how to benefit from the new movement abilities. I have a question is it normal that pressing L3 and R3 when Sticks are moved full forward is really difficult? I have lots of problems start running by pressing L3 when already moving forward. I have to press the stick really hard until L3 is recognized. The right sick behaves exactly the same so I think it is not a malfunction...
That doesn't sound normal to me. When my sticks are pressed forward, I can still click them down to press L3 or R3. And the PS4 recognizes it. Maybe you can try taking the stick out and putting it back in. Use the little black plastic piece that came with the controller to unscrew it and remove a stick. Also, Scuf has good customer support. Call them and talk to a representative~ .... .... I'm glad you enjoyed the video! If you ever have questions for me and want to talk directly... here's my Discord ---> discord.gg/fRHCJYV
With the scuf paddles starting to not respond well enough that means it is just dirty and you need a q tip to clean it, all you need to do is get a q tip and remove the paddles and clean the button thing under the paddle
The paddles on the back, do they function as entirely new buttons? So like for example, can you remap them to do stuff like all the other buttons on the controller? Or do they only function as the jump and whatever the other paddle does? If you’d reply to this that would be very helpful, I’m considering getting one
MistyMajik I believe that if you remap them, you press the button you want them to function as, so i guess they have to function as a button that already exists on the controller.
@@ChrisPetrone I was thinking about buying a scuf so I came to youtube for insists I'm hesitant hardly anyone saying anything good. Drift / cheap materials / buttons sticking Scuf only good quality is the customization of seems The rest is overpriced cheaply manufactured controllers?!?
I know this video is 5 years old but why not send in your controller to Scuf and have them fix the paddles? It’s probably a tier 3 repair so around 80-90$ to fix instead of buying another 200+$ controller?
ItzTweety I just ordered myself a new scuf infinity 4PS. I really like them. They do tend to break over time. I’ve personally been good with buying a new one each October. Seem to last a year before the left paddle becomes unresponsive. A friend of mine ordered the impact and has been using it for a week with no complaints. He likes the larger size of the Impact. I prefer the slimmer size of the infinity.
I bought a 4PS Pro a year ago, can confirm about the left paddle. If you can get passed the increase in size of the impact it will in my opinion last longer than the 4PS (PADDLE SPEAKING) but if you don't mind using only the right paddle or short term paddle usage than the 4PS is worth it. Cuz I mean alot of other benefits other then paddles. Digital tap bumpers and triggers, lighter controller, cool colors etc
Ok so i have been trying to get a scuf infinity for my Xbox but they have been out of stock for so fucking long. Can anyone tell me why? Only PS4 is in stock.

I’ve watched multiple vids on these controllers and I’m could’ve regretting my purchase it’s on its way to my house right now i ordered it about an hour ago
My main issue are the joysticks, nothing else. I want to know more about the quality of the Joysticks on a Scuf controller because I have 2 default ps4 controllers broken in less than a year.
The truth about scuf Bought my first scuf a few years back. I had to send it back 4 TIMES over a span of 8 months. Every repair was free. After 5 the 5th time it broke I told them I just want my money back and they allowed it, surprisingly. I bought a new scuf last year. I my broke after 3 months. I sent it back and they told me $80 to repair it. I told them no way just send back the broken controller. Why would I spend 80 after I spent like 150 on the controller. So I get the controller back with no screws in it and a main wire that should be in the controller (a gold strip. Look up the inside of a scuf you’ll see what I’m talking about) so I email them saying hey there’s no screws in the controller and it won’t turn on. They said no way that’s impossible we don’t open the controller unless you approve the repair. I battled with them for over 2 MONTHS!!! Finally after I sent them pictures they said ok send it back so we can further investigate. After they had my controller for 2 weeks I email them and I’m like hello can I get an update? They respond with a price amount of $90. The extra $10 was for the gold wire they took out. In conclusion they are a lying scheming company that doesn’t care about their customers at all... never again
And I’m not attention seeking or just making up stories like I literally swore on my mother to them. I just want people to know all they want is your money, they really seem to not care about their customers. But I honestly don’t know much about the battle beaver I’m about to look into it
Skimmed through like 3 videos and all of them said scuf is more comfortable and they like them better when they actually work and battle beaver is a lot more reliable with working for a long time
Chris Petrone I’ve had two battle beavers, got to say they are really good and staff are friendly they are cheaper and maybe even better only thing I would say isn’t great is delivery time it is a long long time but scuf has have had one infinity pro and one impact personally the best out of all of them is the infinity pro really good for me the impact was too big but that is just me
My friend told me he’d send me his impact to try out before I buy a scuf but watching this review you made me want to buy one I agree on the paddle I play competitive destiny and in certain game modes the paddles would come in super clutch but yeah because of you Chris I am going to buy one thanks for your review and opinion. I subscribed also 😉

if you pay an extra €13
@@ChrisPetrone SO if you buy the scuf without the magnet remapping key, the paddles are already binded to X and O?

Very nice quality video! Perfect video, perfect audio, perfect lightning, ect Goodjob bro. I subscribed.
So sad that the controller broke in a year. I still have the PS4 controller that came with the PlayStation since 2014
PajamaMan287 it’s literally the same controller with additions.
I think I know that
PajamaMan287 nvm I take back what I said, almost everybody got the infinity said it broke after a month
Just bought the scuf infinity a couple days ago.. this video was very helpful I’m just scared about it breaking on me like others have complained about 😬 but I’m overall excited to get it soon.
Mdash-5 really happy for you dude! Let me know how you like it. Post a pic and tag me on insta @TheChrisPetrone
Chris Petrone will do brotha
DASH_ how is it mine gets here in 3 days
Would love to know
Gastardo bro is the controller still working fine? Wanna buy one soon but i am not sure
So I ordered one on Christmas, and it came in today, and I got white analog sticks do you know of those are any good
Lectrex hey Lectrex. They may have changed, but I had white sticks on one of my scufs and they worked just fine! White and black seem to be OK. Maybe it’s just the red ones that suck
Lectrex is it still going strong?
ESG Lectrex did it break on you ?
Great review man! I appreciate the honest and unbiased review!
I'm glad you enjoyed! My pleasure to make the video ~

Hey man. I bought the scuf controller without an EMR thingy. And than i realized that i need it to change the binds so i bought it without the controller. Will it still work?
User 12341235 I think it will still work, but I don’t know for sure.
Chris Petrone alright, thanks
Chris Petrone it didn’t work :(
@@User-vd5vw you can order one off their website in the Accessories section, pretty sure it's like 10-15$ for one.
Keyboard Trash it doesn’t work becuase you have to buy it with the controller to get the magnetic field in the controller. They should have informed us about that :(
Youve spent money on 3 of these though, 90 days warranty is kind of awful. Especially with button failure.
when you pointed so specifically that the left paddle wasn’t being as responsive as it should, like tapping it for example, i flipped because that’s literally what’s happening to mine and i bought it last month i believe.
No promises they fix it though, I tried once and they sent it back the same
Chris Petrone does the warranty come with it, or did you have to select/buy it?
Jawa Jake2002 comes with it
Chris Petrone you said it was a problem inside the controller.
Philly iLLadelph267 yea you’re actually absolutely right. I noticed this months after I bought it. Maybe I’ll do a follow up video “one year later”
@@ChrisPetrone yea I've had two infinities now and both have had the sticks replaced once in the course of about 18 months
Philly iLLadelph267 that sounds pretty reasonable I guess. Especially if you use them a lot
So are the paddles just shortcuts to other buttons that are on the controller?
Yes. The left paddle is X on the PS4, and the right paddle is O on the PS4
You can also buy a button remap key that lets you make them any button you want
But you can also adjust the bindings in PS Home Screen. To have X on my right paddle (in BO3) made a huge positive difference. And it will save you some money.
@@calisteezy4028 I didn't know that! Pretty cool advice, thanks cali
Scuf sucks. Don't buy it. They brake really fast and when you want it to be fixed they will blame you and demand you pay for it.
What about digital trigers?
YAPO I haven’t tried those yet so I can’t speak to how well they work, but I’ll look into them for my next scuf
Am I the only one that uses the right paddle for jumping
Cosmic Cyborg definitely
I do
Speros does
nah i use left stick
I already hate my scuff, just from one night playing call of duty and I am in love with my Astro controller having it for over a year, no issues whatsoever!!!
How long does it usually take to get there is it true to shipping date or they be cappin
It really depends. If you order too close to Christmas, it might take a long ass time. I paid the extra money for rush shipping and I got it in just a few days. Normally though, it'll probably take like 10 business days.
Took me 2 and a half weeks
Curious if you can send it back and they’ll fix it right?
Can you just replace it all? Like the paddles and triggers
Cameron Cook the paddles I think so, but yea the triggers come with extensions that you can put on if you want too
@@ChrisPetrone ohh ok thank you so you think it's worth it?
So what’s an alternative to scuf that’s comparable?
I’ve heard good thinks about the Cinch controllers. Alternatively, you could try the attachment that goes on a regular PS4 controller. I believe it’s called the FPS Dominator or something. I have a video on it
What function do you use for the right paddle?
Call them and talk to a representative~
....
....
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! If you ever have questions for me and want to talk directly... here's my Discord ---> discord.gg/fRHCJYV
how can I customize one as wired only? I cannot see the option in customization?
I think I see it in PS4 options.
Amazing quality!
thanks
Chris Petrone. No need! One rly important question i need to know. Does the scuf infinity come with free extra thumbsticks?
- NotCrossedLikeSrslyNot - nope. It does not come with extra thumbsticks
Chris Petrone. Okay, thx. Guess Im gonna have to get extra thumbsticks lol
Good video. Intro was halarious. Got a sub keep up the good work

Can u use the scuf infinity pro on the first p2
Ps4
@@ungabungaman5599 Yea man of course
Thanks for the info
I know this video is 5 years old but why not send in your controller to Scuf and have them fix the paddles? It’s probably a tier 3 repair so around 80-90$ to fix instead of buying another 200+$ controller?
Surprised this RUclipsr still responds . But if you do , what’s the best controller need one for Christmas
Keep grinding dude, you will make it.
LIFE thank you!!! 😎
What website did you use buy to the controller because I'm thinking of buying the scuf Infinity 4ps pro
You just buy it right from Scuf's website

@Daniel Cannon I would recommend it is very accurate there is no delay is in any buttons however mine took about 2weeks to get
My main issue are the joysticks, nothing else. I want to know more about the quality of the Joysticks on a Scuf controller because I have 2 default ps4 controllers broken in less than a year.
How do you only have 3k subs?
so you can only map the paddles to circle and x
It seems to be, yes. Unless you get the EMR thing.

What if you take out paddles so you can play claw
That’s what the scuf is for if you can’t play claw
The truth about scuf
Bought my first scuf a few years back.
In conclusion they are a lying scheming company that doesn’t care about their customers at all... never again
Wow. Currently looking into alternatives to review. So far I've looked at Battle Beaver. Thoughts?
And I’m not attention seeking or just making up stories like I literally swore on my mother to them. I just want people to know all they want is your money, they really seem to not care about their customers. But I honestly don’t know much about the battle beaver I’m about to look into it
Skimmed through like 3 videos and all of them said scuf is more comfortable and they like them better when they actually work and battle beaver is a lot more reliable with working for a long time
Chris Petrone I’ve had two battle beavers, got to say they are really good and staff are friendly they are cheaper and maybe even better only thing I would say isn’t great is delivery time it is a long long time but scuf has have had one infinity pro and one impact personally the best out of all of them is the infinity pro really good for me the impact was too big but that is just me
@@tgods It works for me never got a problem I have the scuf vantage I dont like it that much but it works
