  • I want an independent candidate to take over the Democratic party and offer an even better choice than Trump that will push us further away from the corrupt establishment and get us away from the darker sides of Trump. But if you want to defeat Trump in 2020 you HAVE to stop saying he's just a dumb idiot - he is far, far from that, and I'm sure even HE was surprised by how profoundly he was underestimated by the comfortable elite. Fortunately intelligence is an ability to learn quickly so you can just learn things before the slow sets in and remember them. • @tmcleanful
      @tmcleanful  7 лет назад +71

      ExMachina70: No - definitely not. Peterson is a Canadian and is primarily concerned with the encroachment of authoritarian ideological systems into public life and especially the criminalization of open and free public discourse. This is becoming a major problem in Canada. We now have a Social Justice Tribunal. A motion was just passed specifically denouncing blasphemy against Islam. We have a Prime Minister who thinks Castro was a swell guy, and simply for refusing to submit to Marxist-nihilist neologisms Peterson was denied grant funding for his research for the first time (Canadians who are afraid of what's happening funded his research themselves). Jordan Peterson is all about speaking the truth a you see it regardless of the consequence or pressure to conform to a generic, ideology-based group-think. Like him, I detest the re-emergence of a way of thinking that, when brought to its ultimate conclusion, killed 95 million people last century. That's where he's coming from.

    This is why I have a HUGE amount of respect for Jordan Peterson. He not only says what he feels...but he gives a reason why. And it's not based on bias. It's analytical. It makes sense. It's not subjective. It carries true to everyone who exhibits those same traits, regardless of political affiliation. He didn't say a SINGLE thing that pertained solely to a democrat or a republican. Or a liberal or a conservative. His analysis is strictly based on critical thinking.

      His Attempts To 'Reverse-Engineer' His Biases Through 'Scientific'

    • @EMETRL
      @EMETRL 6 лет назад +20

      Capitalize every word and use fancy vocabulary to make yourself look smart, while actually not saying anything meaningful or coherent. Good job.
      He's not reverse-engineering anything, he's literally doing his job, which is psychoanalysis. He's developed a habit of maintaining calm, both mentally and physiologically... that's a skill that would benefit anyone. He makes sure he knows enough to talk about something, and when he is inquired about a topic he's not comfortable speaking about, he explains that he cannot give an answer he is confident or satisfied with... again, an introspective skill that would benefit anyone, including you and me.
      It's not anyone's job to be "cool". That's a buzzword used to describe something people agree with in order to avoid actually addressing why they agree with the thing. Speaking of buzzwords, you seem to think the word "failure" carries any actual meaning. Well, you're right, it does, but not when you literally use it as the last word and don't provide any argumentation behind it whatsoever.

      "he's literally doing his job, which is psychoanalysis" is laughable-he's actually just being a talking head/"pundit" aka "opinion giver; "doing psychoanalysis" doesn't require you to go on TV/radio or online shows and give your opinions in exchange for notoriety and/or money.
      You've misused the term "physiologically" horribly and that along with the term "when he is inquired about" belie your attempt to discredit the other commenter for trying to "look smart while actually not sayng anything".
      The "cool" is an obvious indictment on the sycophantic fanbois like yourself without much depth of reasoning ability or want for individual nuanced thought and just seek out someone to confirm their bias, nod along to, regurgitate the thoughts of and vehemently defend in fervently impassioned failed attempts.
      You should try Googling statements you make occasionally: failure is a noun.
      failure
      ˈfeɪljə/Submit
      noun
      1.
      lack of success.
      The sentence at the end you take such umbrage with may have been slapdash but the sentiment is both logical and grammatically correct.

I won't even mention his historical illiteracy ...

      Look who Trump was looking to relate to, and be relatable to. From the way he talked, to the red baseball cap; it was a skillful act. And he continues it, while people like you write him off as unintelligent.
      A top notch genius? No. But by no means unintelligent.
      That's what these people know how to do; appeal to their base and give the ability to others to foolishly stroke their own egos and feel superior. Oh, and provide fodder for the left appealing late night comics. Keep America polarized; very important.

    • @FakeMoonRocks
      @FakeMoonRocks 7 лет назад +33

      We're not living in the time of Roosevelt or Eisenhower.
      Go back to the founding fathers and their opinions on religion. They firmly believed in a separation of church and state. Yet, Trump just signed an executive order to promote religious liberty. It has public support amongst his base, and has "progressives" upset. Trump knows what he's doing.
      I stand by my comment regarding the late night comics. Manufactured controversy to create polarization. With no real political face to the left, the late night comics ARE that face until the next election cycle.
      The founding fathers wouldn't recognize present day America, and neither would Roosevelt and Eisenhower.
      Do I need to spell it out any clearer? Could it be any more obvious, the game being played? Tune into the late night comic shows. Tune into daytime TV (Ellen, The View). Watch the audience eat that shit up. That's what we're dealing with. That's what the political establishment is dealing with.

    most of Trump's opponents like to think he's stupid, and that's exactly what he wants them to think. he's totally beatable, but the Democrats are too distracted playing checkers while he's playing chess. so i can understand the frustration and confusion.

    • @spacemangalaxy9987
      @spacemangalaxy9987 5 лет назад +4

      I'd say that I more closely align with democratic values (although I agree with conservatives on many things too) and I completely agree with your assessment of what is going on. The democratic party is completely distracted by Trump. They are struggling to keep up because Trump has totally blindsided them with his simple and straightforward approach to complex problems. Like Trump, they should be focused on their own simple message rather than trying to take down their opponent. Trump's dissenting comments about Democrats is his dessert, not his main course. What is the Democrat's main message right now? Nothing. You can't win on that.
      Trump knows that most voters don't understand the nuance of government and policy (and he may not either), but that doesn't matter... he's learned (like many other populist candidates in other countries recently) that votes are all that matter and that approach is likely going to win him a second term unless the Democrats can give up on trying to catch him on something and just match his level of rhetoric. Like Trump, they need to talk about what they're going to do to make things better, not how bad they think things are.
      In the end, I think all of us (democrats, republicans and all of us in between) want the same basic things: health, safety, freedom, prosperity. We just disagree on how to get there, and that's ok. Shit would be boring if everyone was the same. But, as long as we can appreciate that then hopefully new and better ideas will come out of our disagreements.

      To be fair, everyone knows who Trump is, no one knows Yang. Yang has to make a sales pitch to people who have never heard of him and he can't really adlib too much in that regard. When I've heard him in less formal interviews he just speaks naturally and doesn't try to hit all his talking points like he would when he only has 5 minutes.

      Reality show is a Business and the success depending the opinions of multi million people is depending on multiple complex strategies. It is not as simple as the closed door business that closed the door and finishing all the prototypes and perfect them tests after tests before releasing the final product to the mass market. To understand those complex differences is led to one conclusion: reality show business has only one shot to the market to be successful. It is a very harsh and complex business required a comply planning to be successful.

Typical politician and business minded stuff, not amazing, but he def isn't the idiot people make him out to be.

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 5 лет назад +2

      @Car Crazy
      It happens on both sides of the aisle and in almost every facet of society. Practically every single social, political, or economic issue is carefully crafted and presented to people in a way to wich they can pull in gullible people who don't know better to support causes and arguments they don't understand fully.
      It just is what it is. You either fall for it or you don't. But I'm not gonna debate what's worse, Pepsi or Coke? They're both poison. Whether you like your poison sweet and smooth or with a little bite to it, it's still poison.

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 5 лет назад +1

      @Car Crazy
      My take is most of the people in the organization mean well, but the organization is misguided either unintentionally or intentionally.
      Most of the issues they're concerned about are legitimate, but most of them are symptoms of bigger issues plaguing people, primarily people of color in this society. But because they're aren't educated properly on the issues they tackle, they're not able to properly articulate what the root issues are properly, especially not against skilled debaters and worse the trained provocators and spin masters in the media and the gov't.

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 5 лет назад +2

      @Car Crazy
      I had a feeling that you asked me about BLM's as a way to segue into talking about your own issues. If that's what you wanted , you could've done that from the start.
      I don't really care much for people's opinions, especially debating politics of race and what not. Most issues aren't solvable through debate as there is a significant part of the problem, probably the core root of the problem, that has to do with the diametrically opposed nature of the situation and communities of people. I might respond in detail later when I have time. I might not.

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 5 лет назад +1

      @Car Crazy
      Black on black violence is not the main problem. It's a symptom of a bigger problem. That problem is that a conquered people never gains any semblance of true justice, freedom, and liberty until they liberate themselves from their conquerors. There is no middle ground and no democratic way to fix the problem. Only separation can do that. From there, everything we're witnessing is a symptom of what conquered people face. And the people of the society that conquered my people will never unanimously work in conjunction with us to undo the problems we face. Many are diametrically opposed to it because their society was built on our oppression and you can't chsnge the nature of something. It will continue to be the way it's always been.
