definitely on my list of places to visit, i do remember my dad driving up some winding road to look at LA at night, probably north of the downtown, on a different trip i remember driving up the winding road to Coit Tower in SF. The planetarium experience in Chicago is interesting for a kid too.

I loved being there at such a historic place. I didn't get to look through the Telescope, but I did see other areas of the Observatory. I even ran into one of the local yokels. (Can you say "Eccentric"?)
It was a great time.
I took a photo of the bust of James Dean on November 9, 2008.
