HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- A narrated walking tour of Los Angeles' most iconic attractions: The Griffith Observatory. It opened to the public on May 14, 1935, as the country's third planetarium and according to US News and World Report this is the #1 best thing to in Los Angeles. Admission continues to be free -- but parking is going to cost you... $10 per hour! We'll tour the outside of the Observatory to see the amazing view of the Hollywood Sign and Downtown Los Angeles, then head inside to checkout the museum itself.

This is where i betrayed my friend on gta online LOL
Lol! 😂
Thank you, Chris, for including Pluto in the list of planets. I ran into Pluto at Disneyland a while back and told him I was rootin’ for his planet, but he didn’t seem to understand me. I felt good about it, though.
Hah! Thanks Tarquin!
One of my favorite places ever. Last time I was there it was closed for a private event but the view was still awesome.
The nighttime view of the city from up there is truly spectacular.
So Chris, you finely did it... You travel until the "end of the universe" and just to show it for us. Thank you !!
Yes.. I'll go anywhere for you! :)
I don’t think that’s it’s the #1 attraction. Universal Studios Hollywood, Disney Land, Six Flags are usually attracting more people.
Been there exactly two years ago. The views are amazing, especially at sunset! I really need another vacation trip to the US...
Awesome Ricardo!

Can't wait to get back there now that the observatory is open inside!! Your tours are my favorite!
“DAVEY!”
Thanks for this - really enjoying your videos - I am coming to LA next month from the UK and its priceless information. Thanks!
Thanks auwz!
Davey! How you doing?
As good as to be expected
You can park at the bottom at the Greek Theater lot and take the free shuttle bus to the top. No need to hike up. The shuttle bus starts at the Red Line Sunset Vermont Metro Station so the subway is also an option. They run every 1/2 hour.
Thanks for the tip!
Is the Greek theater lot parking free?
Loved I. La for 40 years and never have I ever visited this spot
Time to go!
Wow, I had no idea it was so large inside!
How did I miss this all the times I was in Los Angeles?? Thank you so much for the excellent tour! Bucket list next time.
I was there in 2018 brought back some good memories
Awesome, so I'll be there tomorrow
Enjoy it! 😀
Thanks for this great video! I was there a few weeks ago and this video helped me prepare for my trip :) Griffith Observatory is such an amazing location - I cannot believe I had never been there before.
Awesome Jacly!
Man just be carefull of tryhards with opressers mk2 and jets
I forget about this place. Thanks for sharing this
Loved this one a lot !!!! I bet I haven't been here for over fifty years give or take. Thank you so much.
Time to go back J!
awesome, thanks Chris. I was there 40-45 years ago, and what I remember most clearly was they were displaying actual moon rocks brought back from one of the Apollo missions.. really made an impression on me !!!!!
Neat Joe!
Blimp strat!!!
The Griffith Observatory looks cool! I have heard a lot of great things about it. For one sight which gets a lot of tourists, this definitely looks like a must-visit destination! I really like that you can get some iconic views of the city from there and also check out the observatory too.
And the Hollywood sign!
Love to see all the young people (kids and adults under 25 or so) walking around.
Glad you showcased this. One of the best gems of Los Angeles in my opinion. Everything in California is so crowded now to visit. Glad that I did live there back in the 80's when it was not nearly as crowded as it is now.
For sure Ken. And this place is definitely an example of the crowding
WOW LOS SANTOS
I absolutely agree: The Griffith Observatory (the gateway to the cosmos) and I might add the Getty Museum (the gateway to the culture) are among the very best (free) attractions in LA. As for paid attractions,/Theme Parks: I really like the Universal Studios, too; albeit, it offers a completely different experience.
The Getty is really cool!
@@YellowProductions: I really love the Getty Museum. :)
Nice tour, but you missed the James Dean bust because they filmed part of Rebel Without A Cause right at the Griffith Observatory.
Some friends came over from Chicago took them here they loved it
Great video, great audio quality! Looking forward to visiting The Griffith Observatory.
Thanks HelloYou!
I like the way you explained.. thanks 🙏
My pleasure 😊
Thanks for the excellent tour! ❤
Thanks Emmie!
Hi Bass Excellent video Chris
Thanks Barry!
Great views & great video ! Thanks Chris
Thanks Colleen!
I can see what you mean about the entrance..just a small innocuous door and then WOW !!
This is an amazing and informative video, thank you so much for making this. Can’t wait to take my younger cousins and teach them all of this!
Thanks Brooke!
Like the great museums of NYC. LA has some great spots considering free admission
Rebel without a cause filmed a scene here. It was the knife fight scene. Jimmy (James Dean) fights Buzz
Thanks for all the info, I´m planning a short visit to LA from Costa Rica and this place is in my top List to visit
Great video, thanks!
Your description is so awesome , easy to understand and really really interesting. Probably you can explain a grey stone and it will be a Highlight. Thank you
Wonderful . . .
THANK YOU!! Great video
Thanks Noah!
One of the exhibits is the cloud changer which shows clouds every time a cosmic ray hits it. I particularly like this because it was one of the experiments we tried in school and of course no one got it to work .
The monument outside consists of : Hipparchus ( don't know much about him), Copernicus ( put the sun in the center of the solar system, not earth), Galileo ( everyone knows him). Kepler ( three laws of planetary motion), Newton ( gravity) and Herschel ( discoveror of ...Uranus haha).
We parked at the bottom! Was a bit of a climb but a nice walk and you can stop and take pics of Hollywood sign
BEEN HERE MANY TIMES THANKS
Right on Linda!
It's a nice scenic hike if you park down low
And good exercise 😀
@@YellowProductions I've seen rattlesnakes up there a few times 😲
Thank you for the tour
Thanks Geetoro!
Thanks
When we went to Kennedy Space Centre in Florida in 2014 we bought an astronaut costume for our youngest son Ben. It was orange though. They are so cute.
Awesome Cathy!
Nice! Bob Moses did a live RUclips concert from Griffith Observatory during the pandemic on the Cercle RUclips channel.
Griffith Observatory, um sonho conhecer um dia, descobri esse lugar atrás do filme Juventude Transviada com o ator James Dean e depois no especial da Adele, parabéns pelo vídeo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Excellent video didn't get to do this when was is LA closed for public holiday 😟 always next time lol .
Hi Chris! What can I say? Another awesome video - thanks a million!
Thanks Michael!
Love the Art Deco design of the thirties.
Definitely Nichole!
Art Deco genius!
Thankyou awesome !
Thanks J J!
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Terminator Opening ascene was Shot here
For those wanting to do the hike there's an Easy route or a Harder scenic route. The only difference is the amount of time it'll take (:
Both are just as hard? :)
SHEEP WEARING MUZZLES 🤣🤣🤣
Chris- I love your videos and your Las Vegas videos have really helped me. I was wondering if you have any videos on Washington DC?
Thanks! Yes.. here's my tips video on Washington DC: ruclips.net/video/8Jd_4voa4y0/видео.html
@@YellowProductions Thanks so much!
Hi, really nice video. It will be my first time in Los Angeles (or say USA). How do I come to Griffith Observatory from Union Station using public transport? I am a budget traveller.
Take the metro B line from Union Station to Vermont/Sunset. From there, transfer to a bus that goes to the Observatory
Hello! you forgot something doe's Rebel Without A Cause ring a bell James Dean!
Didn't realise there was so much their! And did I notice you had non yellow trainers on?!?!?
Hah! I do wear shoes that aren't yellow occasionally :)
My husband was part of the team that designed the toilets there and some tourists wanted to take our children's picture infront of the building with them, LOL
That's cool :)
One of our favorite places to visit every time we’ve visited Los Angeles. Sunsets from the observatory are just beautiful. If there is a con it’s the traffic when leaving the observatory in the evening. It can take an hour or more just to leave the area.
Both good points about the great Sunset. And the awful traffic!
the lower / subfloors were added in 2000's. I would hate to be in the third subfloor - theater area when an earthquake occurred. Yes, griffith park has a seismograph on duty.
Now I´m thinking of that scene from Terminator where the punks get killed. "Your clothes. Give the to me now!" I know being a Terminator fan is a pretty shallow reason to want to visit there. There was also a Star Trek episode where they were in 1990s era LA with Sarah Silverman.
Nice night for a walk eh? Wash day tomorrow , nothing clean right?
@@ianbamford1857 This guy is one short of a sixpack
@Hispandinavian probably my favourite movie of all time 👍
❤️❤️❤️
I'll be in Venice and Santa Monica sometime next week visiting friends. Definitely will take note of the Griffith Observatory. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Chris, could you make a video tour of Palos Verdes' Ocean Trails Reserve?
I'll consider it Fred!
What days are they open?
The Griffith Observatory is L.A.'s version of the acropolis.
You Love Don't You?❤️💙
I was just up there but it was closed! Awesome view there.
Bummer
Well that was flash tour, you even missed the meteors and the earthquake measuring device. Must've been the parking fee!
Yes. My parking was running out ;)
Me best Shore leave, 1998.
Los Santos baby
Does anyone actually get to look through the telescope and see the planets?
Oh! We was there in 2019 september and we missed the roof... But the best wiues of LA...
Star trek voyager
❤️❤️❤️💖💖💖😘😘😘😍😍😍
Hahaha, free admission but $10 per hour parking. The American version of free.
More like the Los Angeles version of free...
do u have a video covering new york new years ball drop? planning to go this year
Sorry Minzy I've never been to NYC on NYE
United States 🇺🇲
the walk is .6 miles, not 1.6, definitely worth it.
Is it free park for handicapped?
Not to be rude but where do Handicapped ppl get free parking, if your asking if there's place to park yes buts it's all paid parking
@@tony6863 yes its free parking for handicapped
Can’t you see the Hollywood sign?
Yes.. I showed the spot where you can see the Hollywood sign near the beginning of the video.
hottie
Last I checked it was $15 an hour to park there.
I was there one week ago and it was $10 per hour
@@YellowProductions Cool they must have lowered it!
Look like you are about to grow a beard. You look a bit rugged.
Hmmm
You really need a new mic... wow
The good news is I have a new mic. You can watch my latest walking your and tell me if you like the sound better: ruclips.net/video/Jf5c4K4jZA4/видео.html
DAVEYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call rockstar to look GTA 5 observatory
When I was in LA for work, I had the chance to go, but skipped it. Wish I had gone. Thanks for the quick tour. 🤙
Cheer~~~a room or building housing an astronomical telescope or other scientific equipment for the study of natural phenomena.😊
Just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing this is amazing.i love in Ohio and being able to experience this is very cool peace ✌️ and love 💕 to all and God bless America
Great video 👍🏿. I’m new to your channel but I’m really enjoying your videos. Thanks for great content.
Awesome! Thanks and welcome to the Yellow Productions Crew!
im pretty sure the #1 attraction are the hobos and bums at Venice. That's what we're coming for!
Hah
Wow, Yellow Productions is the best. I didn't know posted this video
Thanks Tri!
$10 an hour for parking? FFUUUKKKKKK that!!!!
