We were in Griffith Park yesterday, too! The last time we visited Bronson Caves the fencing has just been put up - looks like it's seen better days, haha. Always love seeing these places through your eyes! Cheers to you, Good Sir. ☕☕☕
Adam, you are correct sir! The road you hiked with the picket fence railing indeed was a regular road! You can see it in "Magnificent Obsession" a Universal film released in 1935 starring Irene Dunne and Robert Taylor who are seen driving down that same road
where are the houses on poles hanging off cliffs. I was there in the mid seventy's. We drove most the way back then. I did not jump fence, could not afford to have troubles. but had to do it while i was in Calif- loved my trip. Great memories.
I was curious about the Hefner Overlook, so I looked it up. Apparently Howard Hughes owned a bunch of that land above the Hollywood Sign and was going to build a home for him and Ginger Rogers on it. Their relationship ended and the land ended up in the hands of some real estate developers in the early 2000's. There was public outcry to save it from being turned into whatever they had planned, and a bunch of people raised 12.5 mil to get the land and turn it over to the Hollywood Sign Trust. Hefner donated the final 1 mil to get it done (Aileen Getty also donated a lot).
I’m setting in the middle of the old Getty oilfield in Honolulu hills California as I type this. It’s located just east of ford city ca in the buena vista oilfield. It’s about 30 minutes south west of Bakersfield ca. small world.
I love that hike. Nice to get conditioned to run up. That black bug was a stink beetle. And yes they put their butt up and it will smell. Wisdom Tree is a great hike. Early morning or at sunset, just have a headlamp. Thanks for sharing.
I visited the cave some years back when it was open, and you could walk through to the other side. Thanks for sharing. This was a fun, nostalgic visit.
Thanks Adam. I used to hike out to all of the places you went to when I was a teen and young adult growing up in LA. I have not been to the Hollywood sign in over 35 years. Thanks for taking us along.

Thank you for this video! I lived at the bottom of the hills at Franklin and those locations were my regular places to visit. Every Saturday I would sit under the Hollywood sign and smoke a fatty under the end of the sign at the "O-D"
Another great and informative adventure with you, Adam. Thanks for taking me to some unique and very unique tours. I would have never hiked those heights being a might older. You did it for those of us with you buddy! Much appreciation always looking forward to your travels.
I think your vlog from yesterday on Warner Brothers Ranch where all the home facades from old 60s 70s 80s TV shows and films will be torn down is in the upper right of the screen at 24:47 time stamp - you can see the roofs of the two old sound stags. I think the buildings in front of this is the NY NY backlot at Warner. Fascinating!! thank you so much for doing the hard hike so we all could see!!
Man this brings back memories. I hiked to the wisdom tree and sign in 2021 and that trail across the top of Mt. Lee is no joke in certain spots but when you get to the sign it’s all worth it. I could see the Pacific Ocean it was so clear. And parking on Deronda and Rock Cliff is no joke either. I made the mistake of parking there on a Saturday and got a $70 ticket. So cool to see that trail again. Thanks Adam!
Hi Adam, There is still a dirt spot either on your lens or sensor. Left hand corner in the lower third of your image. Ive already noticed it when you visited the Devils Rejects house. Otherwise great job as always

I found riding a rental horse in Burbank with a guy on a 2.5 hour trail ride (round trip) was my way of seeing the Hollywood Sign fairly close and got a picture taken with it in the background.
That was a steep climb Adam! The view was worth it. wasn't familiar with the Bat cave. Nice meeting the UFO twins. Enjoyed meeting your friend. Have a nice week!
My best friend and myself on our first trip to Hollywood walked from the guitar center on sunset all the way to the sign. Up the terrain and under the sign. It’s amazing to be up nestled in the letters.
Amazing views! I wouldn't personally be happy about going up that rocky path to the top as I would be paranoid about falling off or finding snakes! So glad I can see it in your vlog! ;)
I'm used to snakes so that wouldn't bother me or the cliff thing. I think once you're use to it, you are still looking at your surroundings, you just freak out less.😊
Born and raised in LA and I didn't know about most of this. Great video, Adam. Now, I have something else to check out when I come back after visiting friends and family. ;)
Great one. I have in fact been up there where you went to the Sign as well. At the time we weren't aware of the path around the gate. We sort of snuck thru.... as the gate was open. Went up and stood right at those 'locks'. More there when I was there many years ago. Didn't go to the tree, as wasn't aware. Tho if you said it was 2001... I don't think it was there at the time. Never got to Bronson, but will one day. Hope they can improve the Caves for people visiting. Knight Rider was also filmed there a few times.
Planned on hiking to the Wisdom Tree over a month ago but something came up. Thank you for showing what it will be like! I did a couple of horseback tours around there - beautiful sights but looked like there were way better ones from this hike 🤩
Always surprises me how few people are there. I've been to LA a few times and there's so many people but when I went to the overlook spots and touristy areas, there's very few people there, sometimes there's no one. Seems so odd to me. Anyway, great video!
Was out there last summer, and I can assure you, those fences stopped no one from venturing into the cave if they wanted to go in. The fences were fully up, but easily bypassed.
Adam, thank you for taking me along with y'all! Really enjoyed your awesome video! I don't like heights! That's cool how close y'all were from the Hollywood sign. Love the batcave! Looking forward to your next vlog.
Hi from Maine. Eagle Rock is where I grew up at though. I often went to Bronson Caves way back in the 70's with friends. One time, We looked down from above the caves on a cliff we were on and saw a small crashed airplane with it's nose sticking into the ground and its tail sticking up in the air. It was at night, around 11 PM. When we went down to see, we discovered a tree nearby the plane with a white parachute hanging from it. It looked bloody. When we went to see if we could help anyone in the airplane we discovered it had no seats or control panels. It was a prop for some tv show that they had just left there overnight thinking nobody would be fools enough to visit the park after dark like we had. Thinking back, it might have been the Colombo episode with Johnnie Cash as a culprit setting up a murder in an airplane... maybe. The time seems right, and from what I recall of the show it had very similar props as the items we found. I'd have to search for the episode and see what I remember after comparing it to my memories. Another time, me and the same two friends went exploring the cliff trails above the caves and my friends dog got lost. We were calling his name out with out hands cupped to our mouths, heads pointed up in the air when I felt something odd 'spiritually' happening. Something just didn't feel the same. It made me think "UFO" even. We were on a very dark trail and it had suddenly grown even darker. I had a sense of foreboding and stopped walking. My friends were behind me about 6 feet away and stopped when I stopped, too. I looked ahead and couldn't see squat, not even the trail, not even my hand when I stuck it out in front of me. I looked around. Ahead was definitely a bit darker than the other directions, but it was the way the trail had led up until then. Trees were on either side. I don't know exactly why I did it, but I felt around for a rock and found one, then I threw it about 8 feet in front of me. I didn't hear a sound. I thought maybe it had landed in a bush or something. I was feeling around for another rock when I heard a very loud BANG that echoed very loudly. With the new rock in my hand, and back to standing facing forward, I carefully took a couple of steps forward. Then I tossed the rock carefully ahead of me and waited to hear it hit the ground in front of me. Nothing. I waited a few seconds. SOMETHING! BOOM and echo again! Turns out we had been heading right for the cliff face and there hadn't been a single warning. In the daylight it wouldn't have mattered, you could easily see where the trail ended and stopped to take in the view. The trail even led straight to the edge, we found out later. But in the dark I only had the warning of God's good guardian angels to save me from taking another ten steps to my death. Car keys were in my pocket too, so my friends would have had to search my dead pockets to get them. Those were two more 'memorable' visits to Bronson Caves, but there were about a dozen others were we just went and had lots of fun. Woo, that took so long to write that Maine said it missed you, asked how you're doing and said to say hello again!😊
i climbed the letter H on the Hollywood sign in 1978 when it was a ruined mess and took all the unbroken original light bulbs from the sign i could find when it was built in the 1920s.....3 months later unknown to me the sign was fully restored to how it looks today.
As someone who hasn’t been to Cali I really got a lay of the land from this video, you can really see it all up there, has no idea where the Disney studio was until now
i grew up in California in 1974 i was 6 years old . my dad drove me , my brother and mom up to the old Hollywood sign my mom and brother stayed in the car .back then there was no fence surrounding it, and no cameras like nowadays and no one cared if you were there. me and my dad walked down to the sign you could tell it was getting old and falling apart and rusting there was spray-paint graffiti on the backside of all the letters. there was trash and ,fire pits .people used to go to the old sign and have parties .i climbed up the old metal polls that held the letter H and pounded on it with my hand it was made out of metal siding that you put on roofs then my dad and me walked around the entire Hollywood sign pounding on all the letters .. that's something i will remember all my life visiting the old Hollywood sign. my dad used to tell us kids growing up he used to visit the old Hollywood sign allot when he was a teenager
I did that hike, from one peak to another to behind the sign, back to the Observatory, then down to the car park right at the bottom. This was August last year, and it was 110 degrees.
Hi from England. One day I'll walk up to the Hollywood sign but I'll need oxygen and an ambulance behind me if it's that steep hahah.😂 Good vid keep up the good work Adam.

i grew up in California in 1974 i was 6 years old . my dad drove me , my brother and mom up to the old Hollywood sign my mom and brother stayed in the car .back then there was no fence surrounding it, and no cameras like nowadays and no one cared if you were there. me and my dad walked down to the sign you could tell it was getting old and falling apart and rusting there was spray-paint graffiti on the backside of all the letters. there was trash and ,fire pits .people used to go to the old sign and have parties .i climbed up the old metal polls that held the letter H and pounded on it with my hand it was made out of metal siding that you put on roofs then my dad and me walked around the entire Hollywood sign pounding on all the letters .. that's something i will remember all my life visiting the old Hollywood sign. my dad used to tell us kids growing up he used to visit the old Hollywood sign allot when he was a teenager
Great hike. That was EPIC Adam, Thank You.
I did that hike, from one peak to another to behind the sign, back to the Observatory, then down to the car park right at the bottom. This was August last year, and it was 110 degrees.
Hi from England. One day I'll walk up to the Hollywood sign but I'll need oxygen and an ambulance behind me if it's that steep hahah.😂
Good vid keep up the good work Adam.
Ahhh no way, you met Third Phase of moon! I subscribe to those guys. I thought they lived in Hawaii??
