I'm glad I tried KG, but it wasn't exceptional. I had the brisket, lamb, kofta, ribs, and sausage. They were ok, but there are a lot of truly good places in Austin and with brisket at $34/lb you have better options. The best thing on the menu was the rice bowl.

I was in Austin recently (actually waited in line with Andy and his crew at Franklin!) and KG BBQ was the best bite of food I had there, period. Was talking to Andy and his crew and asking them other places they hit up and they all recommended KG BBQ. I had been wanting to try but forgot to include it in my itinerary, so I have Andy and the crew to thank!

Aussie bbq is just so basic - sausages, rissoles or lamb chops in bread and tomato sauce (maybe with coleslaw and onion). Nothing too wrong with it especially because the meat is really high grade in Aus compared to some countries, but yes it's nothing compared to Texas BBQ in terms of flavour.

0:30 i'm sorry, WHAT?? No wait time at Terry Blacks?! I live quite close to there and there's consistently a line down the block and an hour+ wait to be served

Really appreciate this. Had brisket at my local tavern a few weeks ago, and it was DRY AS A BONE! like a crime against brisket. It's supposed to be at least a little fatty, a little greasy and if it's good moist and tender. The crap I had could do a stand in for cardboard with a side of wood shavings. I wish there was meat like this available where I live.

They all look great but the one from Karim is the standout tray for me. So many flavours and looks epic. I guess it is his personality that makes the tray look great.

Welcome to Texas! Glad you got a little taste of Central Texas BBQ. As others have said there is a lot of good BBQ all over and a lot of fusion. Burnt Bean Co. in Seguin, TX and 2M Smokehouse in San Antonio do a nice Mexican flair to BBQ.

All of these places looked incredible. I've had Terry Blacks in Dallas many times and it's my fav bbq place. I gotta say tho, that egyptian texas bqq fusion place looks SO GOOD, my mouth was watering. He just kept adding more and more amazing sounding sides and meats it was blowing my mind. Gotta make sure I hit that place up next time i'm down in austin. And the guy seems so passionate about his food
