I have this camera. It is not Power over Ethernet. If you elect to use an ethernet cord, you must use the 12V power supply or purchase an active PoE 48V to 12V splitter. Redo your video.
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ruclips.net/user/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
That is one of the biggest reasons why I would not be getting this camera is because when you needed the most is when you need the best quality video and that is at night so I have decided to go with the Tapo 520 WS looks to be very promising I have also seen a lot of jerkiness with that real link camera and the movements and also the motors are quite noisy when it’s following somebody or tracking.
WARNING: This camera DOES NOT support PoE. The reviewer is incorrect. Do not purchase this camera for use with an NVR unless you plan to pull a SEPARATE power wire to it. I purchased this after watching your review confirming based on your statement at 2:09 that it does support PoE. IT DOES NOT. If I'd known that I would not have purchased it. Guess I should have done more homework myself, but I felt I'd done enough homework by watching your complete review. Oh well, hopefully they'll let me return it. UPDATED: In my original comment I provided the incorrect time stamp, corrected. Added warning.
I wish I had read your warning, I watched the video and going by his specs I bought the camera without reading the comments. He should change the video to have a warning about the wrong information he gives out. Sending it back to Amazon I need it with POE.
You should warn the people who are going to watch your video that this camera is NOT POE, I bought it after I watched your video because you said it had POE.
My outdoor camera E1, doesn't detect anything and doesn't record anything only at night, I set the motion detection to 50. I have the motion icon that appears in blue but no notification and recording. During the day, I have no problem. Do you have the same problem in the comments? Thank you !
Hmmm that’s really strange behavior I did not encounter that before making this video nor have I had the issue since. Have you tried turning sensitivity up higher? Also do you have “reduce false alarms” on? Could be one of those as the problem
@@carsonmtech I think I found the problem. At night when I checked 'person' in notification and registration like I usually did, it didn't work. Putting on 'any movement', it works, that's also weird isn't it? On the other hand, if I check 'person', only during the day it works and at night it doesn't, even if I set the sensitivity to the maximum. Hmm, I don't know if I should return the camera or if I should wait for an update.
I can’t find anywhere in the manual or the reolink website that the camera can be powered via POE. Will it work via POE or was it an oversight on the video?
@@dalemckeown6433 it is not Power over Ethernet. You must provide it 12V 1 amp power to the female power connector separately. It can still be connected to an ethernet cord as opposed to wifi for data only, not for PoE.
I still dont understand the connection of the camera. Do I need to make holes in the house to go through to connect it? need something similar but wireless if you could provide anything please
I'm just curious do the members of your family take turns walking around outside holding me or do you mount it permanently someplace? If so you failed to so anything about how it mounts
Hey. Can you please tell me if the reo link software/app let you live vew all the time if I want or it has limited time for live stream. Thank you men you are the best.
It will overwrite the oldest data on the card. Alternatively, you can disable that so when the memory runs out, you have to manually format the card or delete files so that it can continue writing new ones!
Yes the time features which you don't know about cause you didn't get the good one and it's not $79 it's a $120 then you gotta improve the taxes and then the ship and so a $140 I don't know where you will ever buy a probably a state I'm assuming and I'm currently right
@@carsonmtech Thanks for you answer, but I am not sure if it true. Did you tried it? Today iam tried connect this camera with Poe adapter and camera doesnt work. I am not sure if I do something wrong. I'll be glad if you help me.
It could be that you’re using a passive PoE injector! The Reolink website says you can power their cameras with a PoE injector or PoE switch outside of their own NVR. The website also states as far as what standard that has to be, “For Reolink PoE camera models, please make sure that the PoE injector/switch is 802.3af compliant (48V) and supports active mode.”
@@carsonmtech Unfortunately I have bad news, I wrote a support question and this is the answer : "I am so sorry to tell that the E1 outdoor LAN port which is not the POE port, so if your camera connect the POE switch, it can only connect the network, but it cannot be powered on, so you might have DC 12v power supply provided in the box to turn on the camera, then the camera can work." Anyway, Thank you for your help!
Ummmm that’s very weird. Clearly Reolink internally does not even know whether or not this camera is PoE compatible. I was told by the person I was contacting that it is able to be powered by PoE power, however if that’s not the case then that’s very very unfortunate. I just had a look in the questions of their Amazon questions section and Reolink is even torn there! Their seller account says that it does accept PoE power as well as it doesn’t in multiple different questions. Pfft!
Unfortunately, even though many places online stated that this was PoE back when I originally made this video, I’ve come to find out it is NOT PoE, which I find to be pretty stupid because why would anyone ever want to run separate power and ethernet to a WiFi camera lmao - to make it crystal clear, the ethernet port is for data/LAN connection ONLY; no power goes through it.
Hi Carson if you put on a memory card say 256gb how many days and nights roughly is that? And does it have the option over write if memory is full...if both options are there than I think its worth it... Atleast if I get to back track 2 days and 2 nights than definitely it's a worthy investment

Yes.

Buy them on the main website? They’re cheaper there anyway.
How many days of full time recording can you get on the SD card?
Hi, can i use this camera with solar panel if i buy on from reolink?
What about the reolink cloud storage use option? I wish you'd have tried that out & reported on it.

How do you get the camera to move by itself

Absolutely! So if you have an ethernet run to an area already and you hook that up to a PoE Injector, you could absolutely power the camera that way.
