Hi, for security cameras I would recommend using hard wire connections as Wi-Fi is so easy to jam their signals with an inexpensive Wi-Fi jammer. Just a thought.
I found Reolink to be the best for being cheap but cheap isn't the winner. The 16ch NVR kit was easy to install tho. Sadly they turned into expensive e-waste as they failed just after warranty period.
Im happy with my Ubiquiti G5 Pro :) does not have PTZ, but image is just awesome, and AI based events without any type of network need (like fosscam does) or any type of subscription is just awesome, 5 of this babies and my Unifi Dream Machine run still like no camera is present
@@SmartHomeJunkie thanks, you made awesome job with Ulanzi, waiting for mine so I can create app for Homey, can I contact you to get inspiration from your job?
They are my favorites right now. Over the years I’ve used cameras from Foscam, Ring, and recently Aqara. I’m now switching everything over to Reolink. Thank you for pointing out the Reolink integration. I’ve been using ONVIF up to this point.
I have the REOLINK 4MP Indoor Security Camera, E1 Pro and can not get Home Assistant to recognize it when I run the Reolink integration, but I tried the Reolink Discovery integration and it shows up. I set a static ip but keep getting Failed to connect, check the IP address of the camera even after the Discovery integration shows it at the proper ip address. What needs to be corrected to get it to show up in Home Assistant?
Picture quality of this particular camera (e1 outdoor pro) sucks compared to other Reolink cameras of even lesser cameras. Don't know if it's the optics or sensor.. but the picture quality lacks crispness and dynamic range compared to other reolink cameras. I returned mine.
9:23 familiar house and camera angle. there was this viral video on twitter/X of a guy with something exploded on the table and sent it up so high and back down again on the table. Reolink camera a bit sharper than a very cheap IP camera I got in 2018, this industry should match the image quality on cheapest camera smartphones.
Great Review Ed. Looks a decent camera. The lack of POE is a deal breaker for me. It could of been a straight swap for one of my cameras but I would have had to start drilling and wiring the power cable in. Thanks for the review.
@@jcm9698 Nope, not according to the specs of this Pro version. The older E1 Outdoor (without Pro) does have PEO, but the pro does not: reolink.com/product/e1-outdoor-pro/#specifications
Why Reolink sell two almost same cameras E1 Outdoor PoE 8MP, and this E1 Outdoor Pro 8MP. One miss PoE, second do not have WiFi, also both not in Black color available. They should make one model and combine this functions to one model, and make it also black color available.
Nice looking device, shame there is no PoE support though :( I'm also a little disappointed by the low frame rate and small field of view. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I have the impression that Reolink bullet-style cameras are better in these regards? Probably Reolink didn't think that the FoV was so important since the camera supports PTZ
Ed, another GREAT video! What is the voltage on the barrel power cord? 12VDC? If so, I will replace my RV's rear view camera with one of these. Projects never end....
Great review! Of all the videos I've seen on this camera you are the only one that has covered the web interface!! That is an important feature to me and I'm sure many others Thank you!!
Hey Ed, does it have some kind of privacy mode? I had e1 zoom for testing and it didn't have it. I would like to put my cameras to privacy when home (my nest ones do that). Now I am testing tapo c225 but it is dropping from wifi so not happy about it, otherwise it's pretty good camera.
The indoor pro uses non usb psu. And can't rotate 90° to be used hanging in the wall. Ah, there's no vertical wall suport, I had to use a custom 3D design. Quality and image is good though.
Have Reolink fixed the night vision issues on their cameras? They have always been great with daylight, but the Infra-red night vision on Reolinks use to be horrible. Also, have Reolink added options for H265 on all streams, or are the lowere quality streams still H264 with H265 on the high quality stream?
Het is jammer dat Reolink de kabels in zicht laat. Een tangetje en weg beeld. Is er een optie om de kabels op een ander manier te verbergen. zo een groot gat in de gevel lijk me niet zo handig om de kabels weg te werken.
Hello, just received my reolink outdoor camera. But there seems to be condensation on the inside before the lens. Makes the image blurry. Anyone with the same problem?
Can this camera actively monitor a 180 degree field of view? If so, how does that work? Does it constantly pan back and forth? Is there a motion sensor separate from the lens?
as I saw yes it have 3840x2160 for Clear mode, and 640x360 for Fluent mode, both modes are 16:9. But E1 Outdoor 5MP can also be 16:9 if you switch from 2560x1920 to 2560x1440, but Fluent mode will be still 4:3 640x480, which is weird, they should also add 640x360.
Hi, thanks for your vids. But whats the best way to get good perfomance on live stream acually? Have the 811 and E1 and Doorbell, all via LAN but they´re slowly in HA. In original app everything is fine

Yeah, I'm not sure who is not POE because it's predecessor does have POE.
Yeah, No PoE on a camera is a shame... especially on an outdoor model.
They do have a POE version of this camera.

The framerate can go up to 25 fps in the app. I’m not sure why Reolink sent me other specifications.

What exactly do you mean with privacy zone? You can add zones to the camera that will not be recorded.
@@SmartHomeJunkieprivacy mode. So the camera is not record or even live stream during that

What is the power consumption if running records 24/7?

It scans automatically when it detects movement. It will follow the person that it detected.
Its confusing reolink have 3 of these cameras with similar names. I think there is actually an 8mp poe of this
