When I change it to browser_ID (ID in capital letters), then it works. But I had a extra question about this. I wanted to have my screen turn on when my front camera of the Lenovo P12 sees motion and installed Fully Single App Kiosk for that purpose. After a set time in the Lenovo's own settings, the screen turns off. (Time-out for screen) But how do I get it done when the camera in front of my house detects motion that it first turns back on my screen and only then shows the popup of the camera at the house? Fantastic tutorial! Easy to follow and zero issues with getting this set up using my Google Nest Doorbell. Now my doorbell camera live view pops up on all of my wall-mounted HA tablets. I have been wanting to do this for two years and you made it so simple. As a bonus, I successfully created a flow in Node-RED that accomplished the same thing. Thank you for this very easy to follow tutorial. I used this to make popups for my nest cameras which I was scared I couldn't do since you didn't mention them. I have to defiantly check to see if you made the web rtc tutorial as I can go around my house before the popup appears lol.

I'm also thinking to use the WebRTC card and I see that you already have published a tutorial about this subject, so that is nice. Later, I also want to add a push-notification feature which comes when someone rings on the door. Then hopefully I can see who's on the door by tapping the notification. Finally it should be awseome if I also can answer the visitor, because then I can remove the original Reolink app from my phone.

Awesome tutorial, thank you! I managed to integrate the Ring camera using the mqtt integration. However, there is no audio from the camera. When using the camera as picture entity and seeing live stream audio works. Any idea how I can add audio? Thanks!

Another one nice and helpful video. I have a question though if u have the time. I did it and it works but if my screen on my tablet or if i am not even on HA app the camera feed doesn't pop up. Is there anything that i can do to fix that? I want even if my screen is off to show me feed. Right now i have an IP cam outside of my door and i use a motion sensor to activate the pop up screen. I think this would need to be added to the actual Browser Mod integration if I am understanding you correctly. Might be a good feature request to suggest to the developer? If it is on the setup with the Glance card that you mean, I think you can add the switch entity instead of leaving it blank, but I haven't actually tried that. I usually do feeds as a notification then, when confirmed, just open the main HA app to open the door for the 2 I have that are remote controllable.
Hi Ed, Great video again. Now for the advanced automation question. Lets say we only wanted the pop up to be on one device? For example, the door bell video goes onto the tablet, and a back gate camera with a motion trigger only on my PC. The pop-up service call will publish to all browsers.
Great video. I have this setup on my tablet running WallPanel. Only issue is I have a clock screensaver in WallPanel but when someone rings the door, it doesn't wake up. Any way around this?

Another great video and really helpful to me as a newby. The problem I am having is that the automation keeps triggering when it detects motion, instead of waiting for the automation to finish . It just keeps redoing the popup if there continues to be motion. I have the mode set to single as well. Any help is appreciated.
This is pretty nifty. I have other devices around the house and kids with locked down kiosk like setups and they cant see the browsermod dashboard. Is there a way to get their devices connected to browsermod without having to go login to each of their devices with my account to enable it? I'm thinking of maybe a hidden on their dashboard that loads up that tab but maybe there is a cleaner way?

I got my Arlo cameras working again by going to the GitHub repository for aarlo and reading the “issues” feed. There is a few lines of code that will need to be tweaked but the information is all there.

Eufy doorbell, only doorbell, has't rtsp protocol. I integrate doorbell, have have many fuction and status, i Can start p2p video, thene state generate rtsp adress but try open on VLC and generic camera but nothing happen.

Do you think it"s possible to make a button and when I press it, I would talkback with person at the door (Same function as on the native Reolink app - two way communication) Second, when someon rings, the ringing sound is too loud outside. Do you know how to make the sound ountside more quiet? I didn't find any solution (I could only change the volume of the inside speaker).
Two way audio is not possible yet unfortunately. I think the volume cannot be adjusted yet. You can only turn it on our off using the app. Maybe in some future firmware...
Would it be possible to add entities or services to the popup view, like "auto response quick reply -> open door" or smth like that? Or in other words, could I add some button to trigger another automation directly from the popup? As you can have left and right buttons and actions, maybe this should work, but combined with the camera view it is not for me -.-.

Amazing walkthroughs! I have a question, is it possible to have the browser open first? I use my tablet to view my work calendar as they won't let that go outside of Outlook, so the web mod doesn't work unless the browser is open. I am trying to get it to open home assistant app then do it or open a pip view for it over outlook if possible. Do you know if this is possible and if so how can I do that or any guide you have already address automation to open homeassistant on a device first?
i keep hearing opening apps is possible but i havent found a example yet....but i was able to open the browser using a tap action on a button and just giving it the url...i would think something like that could be done in automation and open the tablets browser directing it to your home assistant url and have it called right before the pop up logic.

Maybe this was asked already but where do I know the device-ID of my tablet? I think its 'Wall_tablet' but not matter what i change the YAML to, when I run the automation, it plays only on my desktop browser. I should add, my tablet is running the companion app if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the tutorial! The pop-up is working perfectly fine but it is not showing the live stream. It is showing the the pop-up with the camera picture and a "Play" button in the middlet of the pop-up. How can I change, that the live stream is shown without the need to press the "Play" button? I removed https and left only http settings in reolink settings in order to get advange to install reolink doorbell integration in Scrypted. Once I turned off https I cannot add a generic camera, as explained in video. Does any one have this issue?
I like these automations for the camera feeds, but I find mine are delayed by sometimes up to 15 seconds when streaming from Home Assistant. This makes it a little useless. How did you work around the delays in the feed streams?

Thanks Ed! This works great on my desktop, but I can't get it to work on Amazon Fire HD 8 12th gen Tablet (with or without Fully Kiosk) which is really the goal. Is it a browser issue? I registered a separate browser on the Fire with a unique name. But when I run the automation from the Fire, the window only opens on my Desktop browser. I created 2 separate automatons (one for each browser type) Please help me get over this hurdle.
Hy bud, Here is a challenge for me, probably piece of cake for you. my tennants have HA as users(not ADMIN) they open car gate for guests. I want the gate camera livestream on the dashboard and here is the bit how do i automate so every time a HA user opens the gate a 1min video clip from the security camera at the gate and user who opened the gate be sent via email to local email for backup

Hmmm. I once had an old tablet as well that could not run Home Assistant, but that one was really old! Maybe you can remove the tablet from the browser mod registration and add it again? It's a wild guess, but worth trying I guess.

You can wake up the screen in Fully Kiosk with a device action from the Fully Kiosk integration from HACS. The action is called Turn on screen.

I think you can do that by using a horizontal stack card and use two picture glance cards inside that.
Very curious if this is also possible with a Google Chromecast with Google TV. We watch TV with this and it would be ideal.
Another great video and really helpful to me as a newby. The problem I am having is that the automation keeps triggering when it detects motion, instead of waiting for the automation to finish . It just keeps redoing the popup if there continues to be motion. I have the mode set to single as well. Any help is appreciated.
This is pretty nifty. I have other devices around the house and kids with locked down kiosk like setups and they cant see the browsermod dashboard. Is there a way to get their devices connected to browsermod without having to go login to each of their devices with my account to enable it? I'm thinking of maybe a hidden on their dashboard that loads up that tab but maybe there is a cleaner way?
There is an option in browser mod to automatically register new browsers. Maybe that one will help you?

I do not own an Arlo camera.
I got my Arlo cameras working again by going to the GitHub repository for aarlo and reading the “issues” feed. There is a few lines of code that will need to be tweaked but the information is all there.

Not yet, but I believe two way audio is implemented in the new version of HA for Reolink cameras. I do have to test this though.
i am struggling with browsermod i have the camera working just fine, however i would love to show an image for example a wifi QR code. but i couldn't figure out what i need to set in the YAML to open the image.

Eufy doorbell, only doorbell, has't rtsp protocol. I integrate doorbell, have have many fuction and status, i Can start p2p video, thene state generate rtsp adress but try open on VLC and generic camera but nothing happen.

I don't think so. I use a dedicated Android tablet on my wall running Fully Kiosk.

Second, when someon rings, the ringing sound is too loud outside. Do you know how to make the sound ountside more quiet? I didn't find any solution (I could only change the volume of the inside speaker).
Two way audio is not possible yet unfortunately. I think the volume cannot be adjusted yet. You can only turn it on our off using the app. Maybe in some future firmware...
Would it be possible to add entities or services to the popup view, like "auto response quick reply -> open door" or smth like that? Or in other words, could I add some button to trigger another automation directly from the popup? As you can have left and right buttons and actions, maybe this should work, but combined with the camera view it is not for me -.-.
Question: How do I get the doorbell stream to come up when not in browser? It comes up when I am in Home Assistant, but not when I am in my dashboard.
I am not sure what I am missing, I do get the pop up with the white screen, but it does not load my camera (no error message).. I am using Unify G4 Doorbell

Amazing walkthroughs! I have a question, is it possible to have the browser open first? I use my tablet to view my work calendar as they won't let that go outside of Outlook, so the web mod doesn't work unless the browser is open. I am trying to get it to open home assistant app then do it or open a pip view for it over outlook if possible. Do you know if this is possible and if so how can I do that or any guide you have already address automation to open homeassistant on a device first?
i keep hearing opening apps is possible but i havent found a example yet....but i was able to open the browser using a tap action on a button and just giving it the url...i would think something like that could be done in automation and open the tablets browser directing it to your home assistant url and have it called right before the pop up logic.

I only use Reolink for this. I do not have experience with your brand.
this should work with any IP cameras added to HA

Maybe this was asked already but where do I know the device-ID of my tablet? I think its 'Wall_tablet' but not matter what i change the YAML to, when I run the automation, it plays only on my desktop browser. I should add, my tablet is running the companion app if that makes any difference.

Mooie video, werkt perfect op de pc, maar ik stoot op een probleem op de tablet. Bij "browser mod" om de tablet te registreren blijft de register knop niet aan staan. Je krijgt een melding om je browser te refreshen, maar hoe doe je dit op een android tablet. Telkens ik terugkeer naar de browser mod tab, dan staat de register knop uit. De browser ID blijft wel zijn naamsverandering behouden. Alvast bedankt

Thank you for the good tutorial. It worked after several failers but the biggest issue is I got 7-8 seconds delay. I used your tutorial for WebRTSP and there works much faster. Is there a way we can minimize the lag between the camera stream? thank you!

Thanks for the tutorial! The pop-up is working perfectly fine but it is not showing the live stream. It is showing the the pop-up with the camera picture and a "Play" button in the middlet of the pop-up. How can I change, that the live stream is shown without the need to press the "Play" button? I removed https and left only http settings in reolink settings in order to get advange to install reolink doorbell integration in Scrypted. Once I turned off https I cannot add a generic camera, as explained in video. Does any one have this issue?
I like these automations for the camera feeds, but I find mine are delayed by sometimes up to 15 seconds when streaming from Home Assistant. This makes it a little useless.
How did you work around the delays in the feed streams?
Try Webrtc.

I'd recommend a Pi 4 instead.

Great video thanks, I have gone through the setup several times but I just cant get the live stream to show, I have the reolink video doorbell and webrtc already set up and working, I have tried other cameras that I have in HA but they dont show either, I get the popup but no stream, cant see what I have done wrong ;-(

It wold be amazing to have option to answer to doorbell ring in home assistant. But I think that its not possible yet.
There is no two-way audio option at the moment as far as I know.
@@PersonXes I experimented with go2rtc and experienced lagging issues with my Home Assistant server. I didn't experience that with webrtc.

Thanks Ed! This works great on my desktop, but I can't get it to work on Amazon Fire HD 8 12th gen Tablet (with or without Fully Kiosk) which is really the goal. Is it a browser issue? I registered a separate browser on the Fire with a unique name. But when I run the automation from the Fire, the window only opens on my Desktop browser. I created 2 separate automatons (one for each browser type) Please help me get over this hurdle.

Thank you so much, it works perfectly on my PC,. I have a problem with my old Samsung SM-T560. I dont see popup, all entities are unavailable for this tablet, but both PC and Tablet see eachother in Browser Mod. Does anyone know what may cause this issue?
Hmmm. I once had an old tablet as well that could not run Home Assistant, but that one was really old! Maybe you can remove the tablet from the browser mod registration and add it again? It's a wild guess, but worth trying I guess.

Hi, I followed your tutorial ( I also bought your code) and successfully made my reolink doorbell to pop up when someone rings the bell but it only works on my laptop. Strangely, the pop up doesn't happen on my tablet which was the one I was interested in showing... Do you have any idea why? 😐 Keep up the good work!
Oh, that's strange. It works on my tablet using Fully Kiosk browser.
