First trip for 2021...
First video for 2021...
A quick impromptu camp in the west coast of Western Cape. Nothing beats spending time with family and friends. After all, it's the reason why we started documenting some of our trips, to share the value of limited time with people we care about.
We hope you find our content, raw in most cases, enjoyable. We are no professional production house and also don't plan on being one. We believe in "take is as they come" and share what we can, when we can.
To respect the locals, we did not mention the exact spot where we camped (wild camp) even though some of you will know where to find this gem. If you know, please don't comment the name to ensure limited exposure. If you really want to know where it is to put on your bucket list, send us a DM on our Instagram channel... @simplelifeoverland.
Nothing can beat a good Camp!
impromptu is best.. hahaha.. so cool.
WOW weskus awesome video thanks SLO
Wow what a lovely weekend!!!
Live life, what a pleasure! Really enjoying your videos, keep it up.
Thank you Dirk. Glad you like it. Next one tomorrow.
Lekker guys. Keep the vids coming
Thanks Jade. Next video tomorrow.
Juan and Hugh. Mooi gedaan manne. Ek het julle Namibia reeks gevolg en lekker om running commentary te kry op die video. Nice om die mense agter die kameras te "ontmoet". Well done, sien uit na die volgende adventure...
Hi Riaan. Baie dankie, lekker as jy dit geniet het. Geniet die dag.
Love the West Coast ! We have been up and down the area each December for the last few years, and there is always some thing or some place new to see and explore. Awesome scenery, and a lekker video !!
P.S. It's time for a new, sharp knife for the fish !! 😜
😂 Definitely time for a fish knife..
Beautiful camp site on the coast ! I think the consensus was that the water was cold !
😀 That's for sure! Very cold but worth doing it again...
Been there - a wonderful experience! Very good video, sadly spoilt by the ubiquitous BANG-SLAP-BANG-SLAP sound, probably named "music".
Subscribed. Keep shooting!
Thanks Walker. Appreciate the sub. Next video tomorrow.
Lyk baie lekker dankie.
How do you guys decide when to take vans/trailers and when not?
Thanks Peter.
The decision in most cases would be not to tow. With heavy vehicles and places we visit, towing requires more fuel reserves, more concentration, more navigation, etc. etc.
What is your preference?
@@SimpleLifeOverland i try to be as flexible as possible, but as a rule if I am going to stay in one place for more than one night, I will tow. However, both my vehicle and my trailer are a lot lighter than yours. I have worked very hard to keep the weight down without compromising comfort too much, and my trailer is specially designed and built to be able to ho where the Patrol can.
Awesome. Good to take weight into consideration.
I just discovered your channel, great video. Where exactly on the West coast was this? Anywhere Groenrivier mond?
Unfortunately the locals asked us not too say where it is so we have to honor that request of theirs. Not too long after we camped there, the police arrived and cleared out all the campers and I hear that there is a still a ban enforced with regular patrols by the police.
@@SimpleLifeOverland I guess you can always count on the police to ruin a good thing...
What tents are those please.
Hi. It's an Oztent RV-5 and RV-4
Shame you don’t better describe exactly where you are and how to get there.
Hey Alan. We did exactly that but then locals asked us to please not mention the name of the place. We had to cut out some content to respect their request. Send us a DM on instagram for more info of the place. @simplelifeoverland
@@SimpleLifeOverland No worries. Understandable 👍
@@SimpleLifeOverland 100% We don't want places to become more commercialized than it already is. Its nice having some spots close to home where their isn't masses of people or attracting dodgy characters.
