How to Fix Display Monitors Not Detected in Windows Dual, Triple, QuadrupleConnected to Video Card

  • In this How To Tutorial I will show you how to get Windows to find and detect multiple display monitors that can't be detected in Windows.
    When right clicking on the desktop and clicking on display properties, many times dual, triple or quadruple monitors connected to video cards won't be detected.
    To detect them you need to go to control panel, then click on Display. The video will show you how to find the correct location to enable additional monitors.
    Very simple and easy to follow.

    Sorry Andew, But the previous and the latest Build of Windows 10 (May Update 2018-Build 17134) the Display settings are limited to one monitor and the PC/Laptop screen without an option to detect another monitor. The configuration in the video was the same in Windows 7 where there so much more flexibility when configuring display settings. It seems that Microsoft is 'improving' Windows, by removing features that were benefits to those us who need more than a basic configuration. Otherwise an excellent video with great clarity and narration.

      I might be able to tell you once my other Lenovo G580 with Win 10 Vanilla version has finished trying to repair itself, it's been running for 5 days now! The one I am trying to set up with an additional monitor is the Pro version recently updated with the May 2018 update (Only took 14 hours)

      Wait, so are you saying with the latest Win 10 update, it won't detect a tertiary display? I'm having trouble getting my thunderbolt 3.0 connector to register dual monitors and I've seen a ton of fixes online, but none have worked. I can get both external monitors to show, but only if I use the HDMI port for the second one instead of using the Thunderbolt port for both.

      One of the solutions, is to Enable the ''Internal Graphics'' on 'BIOS' for multi-screen detection', worked for me. Then use the 'extended-screen' and that's it.

Just search Windows for "display" and click on "display settings". Then follow the video's instructions from there: click on the inactive monitor > under multiple displays, choose "Extend desktop to this display" > problem fixed.

The machine I'm having trouble with is using an AVI and HDMI display from a single laptop, and with Windows 7. Any other suggestions? It doesn't even detect the 3rd display (HDMI) when the 2nd (AVI) is plugged in and even when the correct settings are applied... It does however connect immediately to the 3rd display (HDMI) when the 2nd display (AVI) is unplugged.*

My third monitor was giving me more issues, and when I went to extend display, it gave me an error message a few times, but it finally did work. So, if you're on win7, give it more than 1 attempt.

    I have been using one monitor for as long as iv'e had my PC. I had a 24" tv laying around and decided to hook it up to get a dual monitor display. I have an nvidia gtx 970 so it should run just fine. My GPU only has one hdmi port so I purchased an hdmi 2x1 splitter. Now I have the two monitors plugged in with 3 total hdmi cords,1 from each monitor to the splitter, and 1 to the gpu port. Windows 10 says that it can't detect another display, I have searched everywhere on the internet to solve my problem and find a single damn thing that works for me. Help woulld be much appreciated.

    • @AwesomeAndrew
      @AwesomeAndrew  7 лет назад +1

      I don't know 100% for sure, but I would say the splitter is the issue. Your GTX should have a HDMI, DP and 2x DVI ports. What I have done in a similar case as yours it to buy DVI to HDMI adapters. Then you plug 1 monitor directly to the HDMI port, and the other 2 monitors have a HDMI cable that connects into the adapters that are inserted into the DVI ports. I'm sure that will work. You can buy them cheap off ebay...something like this www.ebay.com.au/itm/DVI-D-24-1-Dual-Link-Plug-Male-To-HDMI-Female-Gold-Converter-Adapter-SOCKET-/161109811122?hash=item2582e49fb2:g:qoYAAOxy~ilSOn6j

    I cannot find the screens on Windows 7. I have an inbuilt screen above my keyboard on my asus zenbook and it was turned off in an online exam by a proctur. Now I cannot turn it back on and am scouring the internet for help.

    Improper title for this video. If it's not detected, when you go to Change Display Settings, guess what won't show since it is...not detected.
