Iv been watching you for about a year now. I love the channel! I have a 2018 raptor. You have helped a ton with all my upgrades. I appreciate all your help! Iv noticed you live relatively nearby. Im in 29 palms. Maybe one of these weekends we can hit some trails. Thanx again. Semper Fi
Jeremy Wendel thanks for the support man. I organize runs all the time. Follow my personal account on Instagram to join a run and meet a few other Raptor guys out here. We try and go out regularly.
Installing the antenna next to the AM/FM broadcast radio antenna can cause higher SWR (worse case) and/or a dead spot in the receive and transmit pattern of the 2 way radio. Should have put it on the driver's side like you wanted to.
This is a great solution for an antenna mount, thank you! I have searched for the same one, and cannot find it. Can you tell us the brand or the vendor? Thanks again.
CB bar by way of life. I don’t recommend it. Constantly hitting our heads on it and puts the radio too far back to adjust conformably. If I had to do it again I would use the mount next to the shifter.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad you can watch Eddie from WAYALIFE install the SwitchPro coms line up the A pillar and through his CB Bar. Look between 16:00-20:00 minutes.
To use VHF on land your need a amateur radio license. I’m in the process of getting mine to stay legal. The enforcement of those rules though is a different story. FCC does not really enforce it and it’s handled by volunteers. Volunteers monitor and report as they see fit. I’m getting mine to stay legal because I plan on running groups offroad as a business some day. The test is not all the difficult and plenty of resources out there to help you pass. Future video topic for sure because I got a lot of bad info from rugged radios on the topic and need to correct it BTW, I’ve ran without a license for over 3 years and have not been reported. I tend to stay fairly remote and only stick to offroad frequencies and have been fine. Amateur radio guys don’t use or monitor those commonly used offroad frequencies. If your stickler for the rules, look into getting your license.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad that was exactly the response I was looking for. I feel being cited over coms especially non military/ police units is silly. I want to get one so I can communicate form my boat on the lake back to the family ashore. CBs work yet not waterproof or as clear transmissions
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad have you been around the VHF or UHF community to know if the Australian GME brand off-road antenna would work. I think they transmit at 477mhz

very much aware, but it's the wife's jeep and she wanted it on that side 🤷♂️
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I feel your pain. ;)

All the stuff we used is linked in the description or on our amazon page, also linked in the description
What mount are you using?

run the wires through the CB bar.
But how do you cleanly go from the CB bar to The a pillar?

Aren’t VHF radios illegal to use off the water? Thought they were coastguard protected for marine use.

Agre. CB aid also limited and only good for line of sight. VHF gives you so many more options and range

@@nate4036 I really don’t. My knowledge of VHF is limited to just offroad use and it’s limited.
