I can't even begin to thank you enough for the blaster info.
Just an FYI that retainer spring does not have to be in there, that is only there because it's a "beginner's" atv it gives you a smoother easier pull of the clutch and most experienced riders take it out when they replace the clutch as I did.
Well except if you leave it out your clutch will not work. I tried and I could not adjust the clutch properly, it was loose. I put a standard (good used) plate in place of the thinner friction plate and spring and gave it a shot. No luck. If you just leave the spring out, it will also cause issues as the 2nd friction plate is thinner inside diameter will make move. Either way, there is probably a way to make it work, but not simple as leaving it out.
Think I’m gonna save some money and do that myself. Thanks bruh
Tnx for the tip man
r u able to make a video of paintin the frame and plastic on the yamaha blaster
Great video guys! Thanks.
what is the best oil to use in a Yamaha blaster transmission i have a 2003 Yamaha blaster
I hope nobody does this in their house on their carpet LMAO
I put new clutch on my 2000yamaha blaster yfs200 and when I ride at of know where jump on neutral or if I put the gears down get on neutral what can be..thanks
So I have a blaster that worked and now my kick start has work like start it. It’s really tough but when I keep going it slowly goes down but then repeats. I took all that off to see if anything was jam but nothing. But I was looking and when I put that clutch basket and stuff on. I was spinning my back tires and only the middle of the basket was moving. Is that suppose to do that ?
Hi, do you know by any chance if the Yamaha blaster use a clutch ring? Because I have one but it doesn't come with it
Mi moto estaba jalando bien y al sigiente dia prendio y todo. Le meti el cambio y da para atras ..que sera
What is that ring called or a part number for it
notice your difference now that you have the ring in it
i found out the problem. the inner rod was welded to the ball. i took out the first inner rod but the one that is in deeper wont come out!!!! i took it to a shop and they couldn't take it out either!!! they said to just put the new ball and other rod back inside and hope it works.... if it doesn't then i will have to open up the whole engine to get that inner rod out... you have any ideas?
Chances are you had the same issue I did. The other end of the rod in there has been mushroomed due to heat. It will not come out unless you split the engine.
is this the same for a 2001 blaster
Same clutch basket as the dt125r/ re/ 125x/ gpr derbi sachs / & ktmlc2/ belgarda tzr/ tdr125r your better of HINSON billet basket much tougher
Watched till the end and you didn't show how to adjust anything. The sharp edge of the steels faces out. Assembling the clutch it goes regular friction, disk, wave washer, then the friction with the larger inner diameter, steel, regular friction and so on.
do you think you could put 400ex front shocks on a blaster? i know that you can on the rear. but if you can on the front can u please make a vid on how
i know banshee shocks fit. they are slightly shorter.
alright thanks
Hey man thanks for the video I was wondering if you could tell me what “crankcase” oil you run I just bought a blaster and need to replace the clutch but I’m having trouble figuring out what oil to run some people say that 10w-30 is what I should run but I’m not sure
SAW 10w-40 (3/4 quarts worth)
@@cammac1442 Incorrect the thinner the oil in a trans the better factory recommendation is to use type f atf it takes less than 1 quart of it
does the warrior rear brake mount right up to the blaster?
no, you need to weld a plate onto the frame to mount the master cylinder. it as wall done before i purchased the quad
Thanks for the reply
I just replaced a clutch cable on my Blaster and now when I put it 1st gear it acts like I don’t have the clutch squeezed, which I do.
Does anyone know what I could look at to fix that?
Probably just have to adjust the tension on it
@@Jrawify there should be a twist thing in the grip adjust there to start
yes I adjusted the clutch from the cable but that didn't work.
so your saying that I might need to buy the clutch basket also?
if the grooves are not super deep you can take a file and file the basket smooth. just remember to soak the clutch disks over night before installing
Oh okay then. Thank you for your advice! I hope I get everything right!
Soak in what ? Oil ? Friction modifier ? My clutch is starting to slip. I will try an adjust it, but I guess a few years of use, it might be time to get a new clutch pack. What should I use to soak the clutch ? Why is it needed ?
Me and my dad lost the ball barring so he said son go in the house and grab a bb and yall know the rest
hey what are the part numbers for the clutch rod that you got. and we're did you order it from?
We ordered them from partzilla.com they have all oem parts. If you go to the clutch breakdown you can see what you need
Do you have any more videos on how replacing a clutch on a yamaha blaster? I ordered those same parts that you got because my clutch lunges forward when shift to first gear while holding the clutch handle. So I'm just going to replace the whole inner clutch. Or what would you suggest?
Did you adjust the clutch? Also you could possibly have a damaged or notched clutch basket. whats happening is there are grooves worn and its preventing the plates from seperating.
I just split my cases on my blaster and there was a hole in between the cases that I thought the counter balancer did and I patched it with steal stick and it seems strong any suggestions?
keeton holloway send it. As long as it passes a leak down test
Im putting the cases back to gather now but it’s like the main sprocket gear is stuck and the cases won’t go no farther and it’s lined up
It’s like the cig gear won’t go thru the bearing with out force
Well the primary drive is being hard to slip thru the bearing
Nobody says a single word about the massive pain in the neck. Kick start mechanism. Normally it comes off with the clutch housing and disengages. To reinstall you need to align the springs and the tab on the bendix. Major pita unless you know what to do. Again no mention in any of the clutch video's. Also the clutch alignment is not easy, there is no marking on the block, you need to do it by feel. At least there was none on my 97 Blaster.
I've learned its best to make a mark yourself dragging a ink marker over the basket
Thicker one goes first
I still have it fuel injected and i csnt pull the clutch cover off becuase of the lines connected to it
That makes no sense. These are carbureted
I know now i was retarded😂 i was trying to take off the stator side cover but blasters are indeed fuel injected two strokes
@@danklinb1321 Haha its okay homie. BUT they are however, oil-injected which can be blocked off or deleted so you can use your own pre-mix ratio
Ryan Hammar true i ended up doing that but before hand ended up changing the carn and never hooked the oil line back up so i fried my engine and it was too late ended up trading it for a 400ex
Just to let you know man that tusk clutch when you install it. You replace the whole clutch stack, so you remove the washer spring that only for inexperienced atv riders.

can you make a video of were the crank sits please.our crank is leaking oli so we need to fix it but we don't know where the crank seal sit
we have a video tearing down a full blaster engine and also a complete rebuild. please check our channel
