    Does your clutch feel like it's slipping, chattering, or just not operating correctly? It's most likely time to replace it, or at the very least, inspect the clutch components for wear. So, in this video we show you the proper procedures to replace the clutch on a Yamaha Blaster 200. The steps shown will be similar for Yamaha Blasters from model year 1988 to 2006, but check your OEM service manual if you are unsure of procedures or specifications.

      Soak the clutch plates in your choice of transmission fluid. We show 3 different options you can use at 1:00 in this video.

    You should have pointed out that they are two bolts longer than the rest. Than showed with hole they belong in.
    Edit........ I didn't see in the beginning where you said it. But still have pointed them out tho. Should have showed them when taking them out and pointed out where they belonged.

    You mention in the beginning to refer to the service manual. Later when the push rods are installed you say coat with oil, where the service manual specifies lithium soap based grease..... Kind of contradictory and divergent wouldn't you say? Otherwise good informative video

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 года назад +3

      We mention the manual so you can make an informed decision on weather or not to use lithium soap base grease or oil. I don't think it will make much of a difference to be honest. Other than that, I hope it helped out. -Charles

    I have a question, I replaced all the clutch plates on my blaster but I missed the part of the video of the part where I was supposed to offset all my metal clutch plates. I honestly stacked em all with the tan facing up…. Havent fired up the bike. What’s the outcome… ? I would have to purchase another gasket again I’m guessing..?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  11 месяцев назад +1

      The reason you space out the tab on the steel clutch discs is to cut down on vibration. You may notice some vibrations with them all facing the same way. There is a chance your gasket won't come off in one piece (and it is safer to use a new one every time) but since the gasket hasn't been on there long, it may be fine to reuse in this situation.
