Deburr it on some leather, Canvas or Denim. Often a few rubs on those materials can take care of burns on small stuff. Without ruining the finish.

If you has a laser marker, you could have etched the logo on the pen top and it would have looked pretty awesome. I think a laser marker would really save you a bunch of time, and with the right laser, the etching is actually pretty deep (you're cutting 5 thou now, the laser would probably do half that).

Oh man, I saw "Peter" in the comments, and I was hoping you were talking about Peter Stanton. Oh well. That's who you need to help you with the 5-axis.

With more bodies in the shop your laid back solo man approach has transitioned to the fast talking "I need another Red Bull" persona!😃

I'm curious if you had rubbed the original button on a strip of leather for a few passes if that would have cleaned it up those machining burs pretty nicely instead of having to create a brand new one.

Great video 👍 should be using lfv mode to mitigate burrs on bearing finish.

40,000rpms definitely comes in handy for tiny tooling.
When will that kern be loaded up and running parts all night?

    Hey john,
Did you concider doing a "warm-up program" on the swiss to get rid of the trashed parts when the mahine is cold? Or does it not work for this type of lathe.
And for the bearing cage you could drill it in the main spindle to make less work for the lolipop and equal out the cycle time.
Stay safe and keep up the great work

Hey John, I've seen some parts where a lollipop cutter was used to reach through the entire part and make a pocket like you are but also do a tiny edge break on both sides of the part. Have you tried anything like that?

those are some interesting cut marks.
    Almost pixelated. Hmmmm.
    EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm derp.
The paralell paths would of course cause that.
How about you do a contour finishing path?

I really like your videos but the high pitch noises in the background severely hurt my ears. Would you be able to reduce the high end of the audio? Most people don't even hear the higher octaves but for those of us who have dog level hearing it is not fun having to watch your videos muted with subtitles.
