Hoi Lucy, I have the H&M strawberry nursing dress in a size S. Since I didn't like the skirt of the dress, I wore a different skirt over it. I've only worn it twice, because the scalloped edge is itchy. I feel guilty about not wearing it more, so if you want I could send it to you from Rotterdam. That way it might get some more love than I have given it. Otherwise it will end up in a Leger des Heils box :(. Let me know!
Yeah, I definitely agree with you on slowly wanting to get rid of the mostly synthetic pieces in my wardrobe, for me they make my sweat smellier. I was happy to say goodbye to summer, this year it was just too hot in Hungary. I'm also really excited to wear my autumn clothes, last year was the year that I started sewing on a sewing machine (I made a quilt-like pillow when I was a teenager but then lost interest in it, and mended my clothes with hand sewing) and I wasn't good or confident enough to tailor a blazer that was a little too big and long for me. But since then I had a lot of practice and a couple of weeks ago I actually did it, and did a pretty good job too, so now I can wear my pumpkin coloured blazer, just in time for pumpkin season.
Can I just say, your body positivity is absolutely beautiful. I know how hard it is to watch your body change shape, and you were never once negative or hard on yourself in this video. I felt incredibly uplifted after watching and have left with some new and more positive ways to talk to/about myself. Proud of you Mama! You are doing amazing! ❤
As a knitter, I love the idea of replacing favorite synthetic sweaters with natural fiber hand knits. I have a couple of mine in mind now that I’d like to do that with!
Well done! Polyester makes me sweat buckets too. A great project for all those Tees you want to keep, but no longer wear; make a quilt, and pull it out on movie night!
It's so funny that the big hairy hoodie keeps showing up and staying in your wardrobe when you don't seem to wear anything else like that. It must be a comfort thing. I love that you keep hanging on to it!
@@Loepsie Love it. I think most of us have something that's not fit to wear in public but that we cling to for comfort. I have a few items like that - like a pair of super soft, super stretchy leggings - that happen to be covered in skulls.
Enjoy this season of life! You might find separates more useful than dresses at this stage. When I was finally done nursing my last child, I was really excited start wearing dresses again 😊 But it's just hard to find nice maternity/nursing dresses. Perhaps consider taking some of the dresses you decluttered and turn them into skirts?
I've just finished breastfeeding after 22 months! Thankfully we were down to once a day from about 16 months so I was able to get all my non-breasfeeding clothes out back then. It was like getting a whole new wardrobe because I hadn't been able to wear most of them since about month 5 of my pregnancy 😂
You can be so proud of yourself being able to part with so many things you don't wear anymore. I know this can be so hard - especially when you made some of them yourself.
I've been dragging my feet about switching over my closet to my fall wardrobe -- but you are giving me inspiration to do it today! with a big cup of tea in hand, of course I got rid of most synthetic fabric items a few years ago -- I've had an issue with specifically polyester making me itchy since I was a little kid, so a lot of times I end up having to declutter clothes that are gifted to me by family because one touch gives me eczema
It's such a pitty for the handmade clothes, but i salute getting rid of synthetics. I did that when I realized that my sweating problem solely comes from synthetics at around 25 and i mercilessly got rid of all of them - except some winter jackets (wind and water protection) and a handfull of sports bras (my ladies are too big and bouncy to work out without hardcore suport and i have yet to find a natural fibre high impact sports bra - or a pattern for one). I only started to sew/knit/crochet my clothes after that, cause my closet was empty AF. Now it's bi-annual decluttering solely because of size and wear&tear.
Those pink shorts you don't know how to style look like perfect summer loungewear! As well as the printed t-shirts, I also have a few sentimental shirts like that that don't fit my style anymore. I just wear them as pyjamas because they're pretty comfy!
I love this! It is so realistic. When I was in the era of my life of pregnancy/ nursing... repeat, I had several sets of wardrobe all the time. Nursing friendly tops and dresses are gold! mostly I wore separates when nursing and dresses when pregnant . (Maternity pants were pretty bad at fitting my body; have they gotten any better?) Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Getting rid of things I have made myself feels so wrong in a way. I just had a big clear out of my clothes after putting it off for way too many years. I decided to get rid of a few handmade items and it felt like I was doing something illegal, but the fact is that I made some items in the beginning that didn’t work for me. It also felt oddly freeing and I dearly hope someone will get a lot of wear out of them ❤
If you like the fabric & style of something, but no the colours- try dying it in a colour you like 🤗 The pattern still shows! This has made me use a lot of my clothes loads more🫶🏻
I *believe* you can (at least more) safely hang knitwear by folding it in half, laying the hanger with the hook at the armpit of the sweater, and then folding the body/hem and sleeves over the arms of the hanger so they cross over right beneath the hook. I’ve always had more drawer/shelf space than hanging space, and it sounds like you’ve got space to fold yours too, but in case you need to hang some in the future!
I think for the red velvet dress, if you're making adjustments and don't want to make it more formal, you could add a cute embroidered peter pan collar and reduce the length? Not ideal for nursing but it would be so cute for autumn! Maybe even with an embroidered trim to the bottom as well? 🍂🍁
Don't get rid of your nursing dress! You can get color bleed out with hydrogen peroxide. I've done the same thing several times and have been able to save clothes by soaking then in 6% hydrogen peroxide for like 10 minutes.
If the dye had been even I might've still worn it, but unfortunately it's quite blotchy :( I could try to save it by actually dyeing it another colour but I'm not sure that's worth it 😅
@@Loepsie maybe worth it for the experiment but I can imagine it might be more work than you would want for something you might not wear anymore after nursing
Acrylic makes me sweat but keeps me warm. But I can feel my hands sweat thinking about touching wool. It feels prickly and itchy to me and feels awful.
Nooo I would never order off Temu! 😂 There's a bunch of websites that look like a cute little retro/vintage style store but when you dig a bit deeper it's all polyester dresses and stolen designs and there's no return address 😬 I worked with one a few years back without realizing and then there was a little scandal surrounding them a few months later 🥲
you can dye your nursing washed with red dress into more pink color - test it, you've got nothing to loose there
I think that is such a good idea as well! It would be lovely in a pink that evens it out I believe.
Yes, try it! I overdye stained clothing all the time. Sometimes it doesn’t work, but hey, worth a shot.

7:58 I actually did think it was pink and I was like, what is wrong with it? Haha.
Yeah, it doesn't show up super well on camera - should be pretty easy to overdye the lighter parts to be a more uniform pink?

It is always warm and almost summery in Southern California, and I so love it. We have some cold rainy days in the winter, but much more sun.
NO NOT THE 30S DRESS
AND THE STRAWBERRY CHOCOLATE DRESS 😫😫
I would happily buy those from you if you’d be willing! I loved those dresses! ❤

Hahaha it's SO COMFY! It's what I pull out when I get caught in the rain or have a very painful period 😂

You could take all of your old tshirts that you want to keep and turn them into a tshirt quilt.

You're giving me motivation to clean out my closet!
The sweater? Blouse? you are wearing in this vid is super cute! Seems great for nursing too,I defo need one for myself
I love watching your videos on Sunday mornings when I need something calm but ASMR puts me to sleep
The pinafore is totally nursing friendly - lift up inside top and pull the pinafore panel to the side 😊
Yay! I love the spring and autumn closet turn-over and declutter videos!!! I have my fresh pot of tea and I'm ready 🙂

Hahaha congratulations! That must be a wonderful feeling 😊
I need to take out my fall clothes soon as well ❤ I'll play this again when I do it because I need to declutter some items as well!
I love your closet cleanout videos! They always inspire me to be intentional and organized with my wardrobe!
You can be so proud of yourself being able to part with so many things you don't wear anymore. I know this can be so hard - especially when you made some of them yourself.

Haha the thumbnail made me smile! It captures the feeling of decluttering so well 😁
Good job on letting go of so much!

Omg I never owned that amount of clothes 😮😂
I'm watching you, and when you get to, "vintage 80's" man, that hurt.😂
Really good declutter, good job (I think decluttering is hard).
Ik zou via Vinted echt kleding van jou overnemen 😳. Hele satisfying video!
I was heartbroken to see you get rid of the plaid capelet, it's so cuuuute, I think you should allow yourself to keep one 'useless' item 🤭
Especially if it's irreplaceable!
Oh trust me, there is more than one useless item still in my closet 🙈😂

NOT THE RED PANTS 😭😭 there so cute and I haven't find anything like those in my country 💔
I love blazers but I hate that I can't wash them in the washing machine! I have the burgundy one too ❤

20:14 I have the exact same sweater haha. I am donating it this year (only because I have another white one I prefer)
You could dismantle the blue/green plaid dress and use the pieces to make a pattern for a future dress.
I thought the same!

You should dye the dress and use some form of a plant to give it a natural bleed in with the uneven bleed now.
Couldn’t you overdye the cherrydress with some intentional soft pink?
It's still 90° all this week and next week here in Oklahoma, USA.
Go ahead and start to cable knit. It is easier than it looks. Maybe some leg warmers?
Did you use a pattern for your green and white dress at the end please? It's a beautiful design 😊
I'm fairly sure I draped that one on the mannequin... There's a video about it from a few years back :)
For the dress that was accidentally dyed, if it wasn’t put through a clothes dryer you might be able to get the color out with a color remover.
I know you said it’s hard to see with the baby, but you should do another mending video ❤

Honestly, at least on camera, the nursing dress with the red doesn’t look bad at all! It looks more coherent tbh, I’d say it’s very wearable still

Acrylic makes me sweat but keeps me warm. But I can feel my hands sweat thinking about touching wool. It feels prickly and itchy to me and feels awful.
Have you tried merino? I find it much more comfortable than regular wool!
What a shame about the dress you made recently! You did such a good job adding the red fabric too! Oh well - we live and learn, I suppose.
Please save the little capelet. It could be worn with pants!
Sadly, I have a deadly allergy to wool. Guess who wears cotton at wintertime and cries from the cold 😢
Have you tried silk? It is my go to fiber for warmth when wool won't work.
You could just dye the whole dress red or charcoal and let the red be an accent.
Dont donate that beautiful blouse sell it and make some money on it as it's very well made
Say Temu without saying Temu, lol.

Can't you just dye the "ruined" nursing dress? It can't get worse and maybe you can save it.
