My kids are grown now. What I did when I was in that really busy parenting stage was to split my house into four equal zones (how you divide it will depend on your own home). I cleaned one zone a day Monday to Thursday. The fifth day was for catching up on occasional tasks (for example, the garage or deep cleaning the fridge or organizing a closet) and doing bills. One load of laundry and an evening tidy every day, plus the usual daily kitchen stuff like dishes. Weekends off for fun! I worked at home, too, so I balanced the cleaning with work and childcare stuff, but it was easy to know what to clean or tidy whenever I had 5 or 10 minutes free. It really does work because you never have to clean the whole house at once ever again.

You are always my companion to cleaning my kitchen on a Friday afternoon first thing after work, along with a beer! Very much enjoyed the dramatic soundtrack, so might adopt that for doing the rest of the house.

I keep a whiteboard with the days of the week on it (in my kitchen where I see it most, so I remember) everyday I have a task to do like Monday dusting and vacuum, Tuesday mopping, etc... that way everything gets done by the end of the week and NY weekends are much more relaxed. Every night I make sure I clean my kitchen, and when I walk into a room let's say the living room I tidy before going into another room. Also a little tip if your babu knows how to sit up on their own you should lower the mattress in the crib to prevent falling. Hope this helps! Mama of 3. ❤ liked this video 😊

    • @nica93
      @nica93 Месяц назад

@lilywojciechowski9906 my white board has everyday of the week. Mondays I clean my kitchen, dishes are daily but deep clean my kitchen Monday's like counters backsplash microwave, fridge, etc. Tuesday I switch the sheets and wash the old ones, Wednesdays I dust the whole house followed by vacuuming (humpfays are busy for me so I take it easy) Thursdays I deep clean bathrooms tiles, showers/tubs, sinks flooring, Fridays I do mopping and my kids homeschooling curffufle or arts and crafts room. Saturdays here for hydroelectricity it's cheaper on weekends to do our laundry. Sundays I tidy to make sure everything is good fir Monday. I also have a small section on my whiteboard with other tasks that are like once a month like windows, screens, doors, walls & filters to switch out. Those I mark it on my phone on an alarm. That way everything gets done without overwhelming you! 😅 Hope this helps!

I really like have daily routines that make it easier. I’m not good about everything at all, but two things that I have done now- laundry and dishes. I empty the dishwasher in the morning, run it in the evening. That way I can fill it when needed throughout the day. Then I try to hand wash anything that is hand wash only after meals. Then I try to do at least one load of laundry a day. We have three kids so a lot of times this is more than one load. I feel like if I keep the dishes clean and laundry going, even though the rest of the house needs worked on, we’re not naked and hungry. 😂 The other thing I’ve gotten good at is keeping the bathroom clean. I am determined to figure out the rest of the house, but I do feel like these things at least help us keep up with more of the everyday dealings in a house.

    I also use a schedule.
I basically have my house split in two and clean half every other day.
My top priorities are always the kitchen and bathroom.
I also believe in doing a big fall-cleaning.

As a mom of twin 7 year old boys. what has worked for me is to break down tasks in the week while they sleep. Also find products that will help cut time. I make my own so i have to take a day in the month to make them. Hope you find the rhythm that best suits your needs. 😊

I've been really bad about it, but the Finch app has actually been very, very helpful for me in implementing a cleaning schedule. I can set how often a task recurs, whether daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom time. I can schedule as many tasks as I want in the free app. The cute little bird is a bonus for me, but you could ignore it and just use it as a task list if gamifying goals isn't something you need or care about. I just use the free version and it's been really helpful.

I also used to clean on weekends but now Sundays are my husband's only day off for the week, so I've been trying to implement a daily schedule so we can rest in Sunday and not spend all day cleaning. I don't have a young child and it has still been a struggle 😆 I do work fully remote but between going to the gym, making sure the dog gets walked and adequate exercise, cooking, and my job.. It's hard!
I use the Reminders app on iPhone to make my list of all the tasks and how often and then it sends you reminders every day. I looked up some examples of daily/weekly/monthly schedules to get ideas. Since we do have pets, we run a damp mop around every day (but we only do laundry a couple of times a week). I find cleaning bathrooms all in one go to be kind of overwhelming so I have the different tasks broken up on different days. But then I will do things like dusting all in one day. Having the right tools on hand makes things easier. For example, a set of everything needed to clean the bathroom is in each bathroom so there's no hunting. Basically I've tried to make sure the daily tasks don't take more than ~20 minutes. Then on Saturdays I have a monthly task for things that don't necessarily have to be done daily or weekly but they at least get done periodically (baseboards, full mopping).

I guess the stress from moving in our own house in a foreign country and my partner having a accident with the vespa just got to me.

I have an 11 month old and I also had difficulty keeping things clean! I started keeping a bullet journal with each of the things I needed to do in each room. Once or twice a day I do something off the list or a few things if I have time and then I mark it off. Then I know that the thing is done for the week and even if I can't clean the whole bathroom at once, hey. At least I cleaned the toilet and that's done for this week! I also really like writing it all down physically because then I don't have to carry the tasks in my mind. I write it down and then immediately dump it out of my brain to make space for things like taking the hobbits to isengard and what am I going to feed this kid and myself for lunch. If you're interested in seeing my bullet journal setup/cleaning schedule, let me know 😊

Oh yeah! I also have certain tasks listed for a deep clean with all the curtains, carpet cleaning, and decluttering for every 6 months. It helps me stay on top of the more in-depth things that don't happen on a regular basis.
Also, if the physical notebook part isn't your style, I had it on Notion as well. I just happen to like regular paper and pens :)

My mom had a 9 to 5 (maritime clerk & customs declaring agent), my dad had a 9 to 5 (canning plant, white collar). On top of that, it was my mother who did all of it in the house. All of it. Maybe except dishes and vacuuming. But the number of times she caught my dad in his couch, feet up, reading the paper while keeping the vacuum on... my goodness. LOL Anyway, the house was spotless. You could eat off of the floor spotless. Now, you know, you can get away with it, but once baby starts to crawl and put all of the things he finds on the floor in his mouth? Oh man, you better be prepared for that one! My mom just couldn't deal with a messy house, that's all. The number of nights she only slept a couple hours are endless. Doing laundry and ironing was usually after midnight. And now almost age 79, she still does her entire house top to bottom. The woman is a lean mean cleaning machine. ROFL

I had some guests in the end of October so I did some cleaning then. But I need to do cleaning in my kitchen. If you wash the floors in your living room, kitchen and hall once a week I guess you find a schedule for that. In ground floor I mean. Else vacum cleaning is fine upstairs. I only do it without an app. More fun to do when you feel for it. I like your small vacum cleaner. Have to buy one.

It's not easy to do, but dividing up the house to a room a day to go over, plus whatever necessary chores must be done daily... this way, you at least get each room a going over once a week. Aside from that, getting supper prepped right after breakfast is super helpful... and like you said, a load of laundry per day.

What was the app you were looking into, out of curiosity? When my kids were little, and when my nieces and nephews lived with me, I cleaned when they slept or when they were able to be self entertained and left alone-ish, I always had them in the room with me or just outside the room depending on what I was doing. (I get nervous about leaving babies in rooms alone, so I get more done if they are where I can see them.) Back them I didn't have help, my ex-husband only wanted to go to work, mow the grass, sit on the couch, and drink. My current husband will help with most things around the house. I've always lived in smaller houses too though, never had to worry about cleaning upstairs areas.

So odd how people tackle the loo differently. If you want your ceramic bowl to last, especially if you have hard water? Get some CIF and elbow grease and clean inside the bowl with CIF & a dish sponge, one of those sponges with the green scoury pads? Yep, scrub scrub scrub. If you don't want to put your hand down there, because it is a ways down there (all in there and under the bowl), use some household gloves. But just with toilet bowl cleaner? It's not going to get the residue off and if you want your bowl to last more than a decade? Yep. Gotta get in there, girlfriend. Otherwise, nice to see someone clean a little more thoroughly than I'm used to seeing on the YT. ;)
