You just packed into 15 min so much important and possibly basic information that took me years to learn, never provided for me in such clear detail by any medical personnel. Thank you for this, highly valuable for so many.
Dr. Crawford, thank you for this very informative video. I am 32 and today I was told by my Dr that my AMH is below average. This was very scary information and I left the doctors office feeling very concern, afraid and frankly broken. Although, he tried to explain what this meant for my fertility he definitely did not explain this like you. Watching this video made me feel hopeful and gave me a little peace of mind.
This is a great breakdown and explanation. I'm late to the table here. Never realized I wanted kids until recently, married 10+ years. I always thought motherhood was for other women, but something has switched in my brain this last few months. There are so many variables and things to learn. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year at 38-yrs, 2 ovarian cyst surgeries since I turned 13-yrs. My 13th birthday was in a women's GYN ward! I have regular periods and have a high AMH (18.2 pmol/L) but I didn't think about the quality aspect of things. I'm praying for me and other ladies out there in my shoes.
You are the first doctor that mentions chromosomal abnormalities that prevent implantation and I would love to know more about what these are. Can you do a video about chromosomal abnormalities? I think a lot of people would love that as this is the main explanation you get when you have had an early miscarriage
When I was 25 years old, and I accidentally got pregnant. I cried for many days because I was a student without a stable career yet. Now my daughter is 10 years old. She is healthy and beautiful. My life is much easier now. I can't image how difficult for working_full_time moms to have new born babies.
Thank you so much for these videos. You seem so genuine and to share this info online with us is such a privilege. Congratulations on being both a doctor and a mom ♥️
This was so informative and also encouraging! I had 2 kids in my 20s and got pregnant very quickly. Our 2nd child had a severe syndrome and it took 8 years to see if I was a carrier. It took us 4 years to get pregnant with our 1st daughter when I was 28(also had a miscarriage the month before getting pregnant with her) vs getting pregnant the first month at 35 when not even trying. We are thinking we might want one more child after having her, so I wonder if it's something we should try right after we have our baby🤷🏻♀️

@@carolines3953 I wanted to be in your position, but unfortunately stage 4 (silent) endometriosis, and severe myomectomy scar tissue completely destroyed my fallopian tubes. Your videos are super informative, thank you! Do you have thoughts on how to balance the pregnant body's need for choline and folate - which are highest in animal products like liver and eggs, and the data that seems to suggest plant based is best for fertility? It seems that those 2 facts oppose one another and make it so confusing figuring out how to navigate. Thank you!
With respect to fecundability, are the pregnancy rates you mention adjusted for miscarriage risk? I.e., does a woman between 34 and 37 who has an 11-12% chance of becoming pregnant, still face a high chance of miscarriage, or is it that she has a 11-12% chance of becoming pregnant in a given month that will lead to a live birth?

Hey Natalie, thanks for the video!!! Just a quick question - would you say, just how the number of eggs doesn't really dictate a woman's ability to get pregnant, but it provides insight into reproductive functionality (have I got all that correct?), would you say a similar thing about sperm count with males? Or is sperm count indeed indicative of the likelihood of pregnancy?
you are right exactly about eggs. For men on the other hand, it takes millions of sperm to fertilize an egg (they work together as an army), so count directly impacts success rates
How do you go about getting a fertility doctor? Is it something that you have to be referred to by your OBGYN? What if your OB doesn't think you need a fertility doctor because 'you've been pregnant before" even though you have PCOS and have had miscarriages?
I am only 30 and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now but the doctor said we have to try for 2 years before they can do further research I am like that 2 years wasted
Great question! It doe snot - you lose eggs even BEFORE you start having periods, time of maturation of your brain (what puberty really is - has no impact on fertility timeline)
I ran out at 35 and hit full menopause. Could this be hereditary, just wondering, my daughter after 2 easy getting pregnant and 30 yrs old is having trouble to get pregnant again. Youngest is only 3.
Can I just make a comment but doesn’t having low AMH reduce your monthly probability of conception let’s say a 35 year old with 15 eggs monthly and one with 5 monthly doesn’t the lack of selection decrease your chances. Less natural selection opportunity in selecting a healthy egg. I do understand that the possibility is still there for natural conception but I assumed the probability is lower due to low numbers of eggs for natural selection by our body. So I assumed if you have a healthy AMH you have a normal 15% chance of conception monthly whereas if you have low AMH due to poor natural selection numbers your chances are still there but now at 10% example. Makes sense this is how I always pictured it.
Then if you the person or partner has any other fertility issues that percentage keeps dropping so ultimately you get some women only getting a 5% for natural conception meaning it is going to take much longer to get pregnant months/years and in that time AMH keeps decreasing lowering your odds even more. So that’s why IVF is so important in women with low AMH to get in there before it’s too late. Is this correct understanding please ?
Hi Natalie, I’m 25 and probably the youngest one here but we had a miscarriage back in February. We weren’t actively trying to get pregnant, we got married and I was pregnant 3 months later but now that we’re actively trying post miscarriage, nothing’s happening! I’m so scared I’m infertile
Hey if your trying to conceive then the spell caster that helped my aunt manifest children into her womb after many years of childlessness can also help you too
Hey! You’re not the youngest person here to have these worries, I started ttc at 23 and it’s been years of no pregnancy for me. If you’re worried there are sooo many groups to join online that can really help you feel affirmed.
Very informative but also very heart wrenching. I think what I can gleen from this video is that if you are 40 (as I am) or over you should just give up and wait for menopause. Unless you have lots of lovely money that you can potentially waste on treatment by coming to the clinic ASAP. But even then if fertilly treatment actually works - your child is prob going to be deformed because your eggs are of such bad quality! 😒
I was wondering about this. When my Dr that did my tubal reversal did my vaginal ultrasound he said there were 10 follicles and I'm 38. I wasn't sure what he meant, so know I have a idea watching this video. Do I need to speak to my obgyn now I'm in the process of ttc?

Just a quick question - would you say, just how the number of eggs doesn't really dictate a woman's ability to get pregnant, but it provides insight into reproductive functionality (have I got all that correct?), would you say a similar thing about sperm count with males? Or is sperm count indeed indicative of the likelihood of pregnancy?
you are right exactly about eggs. For men on the other hand, it takes millions of sperm to fertilize an egg (they work together as an army), so count directly impacts success rates
@@NatalieCrawfordMD I didnt know that, thanks heaps!!! Excellent videos mate, learning so much!!!
Hi thsi is a great video. Does having an abortion affect your egg levels? I am 35 and slightly worried and have had an abortion when I was younger
Hi doc I'm 38 trying to get pregnant
I’m 29 and would like/wants kids one day. What would you say to someone at my age?
Hey if your trying to conceive, them whatsap the man DAT help my aunt,he will help u❤💕❤😍❤😍💕

Does age of menarche affect fertility timeline?
Great question! It doe snot - you lose eggs even BEFORE you start having periods, time of maturation of your brain (what puberty really is - has no impact on fertility timeline)
I ran out at 35 and hit full menopause. Could this be hereditary, just wondering, my daughter after 2 easy getting pregnant and 30 yrs old is having trouble to get pregnant again. Youngest is only 3.
yes please have her get an evaluation, premature ovarian failure can be genetic
Do you do the AMH test when ovulating? What if you are not so sure of your ovulation date?
you can test AMH any time
What supplements do you recommend to your clients who are 35 with low AMH and slightly higher FSH to help them improve their egg quality?
The man that helped my sis increase her egg quality can also help you too just take his Whatsapp number below
Is it smart to have this checked even if you're single and in your 30s?
At the age of 35 years is it possible to have the chance to have more eggs
This is so helpful! I am needing to freeze my eggs fast due to being in my mid 30s. You answered a lot of my questions!
Go see a doctor in your area (or do a telemedicine consult now!)
Congelar óvulos es una probabilidad no es certeza.
Ok I get it egg quality as you age but what to do if you keep trying at 37 before more egg get bad but u keep getting pregnant and miscarriage 😞
Hi! I'm 38 and am trying to get Pregnant..i wish i wiLL get Pregnant soon..🙏

I do ICSI and IVF together (almost always ICSI) but I can make na ICSI video!

“Bad” quality eggs don’t result in deformities just lower pregnancy rates
😥😥😥
@@NatalieCrawfordMD i am 43 . Is there a way low the the risk of deformities. We thank you so much.
This video doesn't explain why the quality decreases
I was wondering about this. When my Dr that did my tubal reversal did my vaginal ultrasound he said there were 10 follicles and I'm 38. I wasn't sure what he meant, so know I have a idea watching this video. Do I need to speak to my obgyn now I'm in the process of ttc?
@@jaysonwells1079 how about I put a spell on you and stop spamming people page and comments.

@@MeMe-ku6gz I'm sick of them. Every page that has to deal with fertility here they come with there spell caster crap. They need to go to find God.
@@jamaicanblackqueen yes I was saying the same thing to myself
I'm 44 what the number egg relase each month is average and low average
You should get tested, women at 44 can be very different. If fertility is a goal, please act ASAP with an appointment and evaluation.
