I started liking them back in 88 when I saw them in Sheffield (My home town) at an sport aid gig, didn't really know much about them before that only the obvious 500 miles. Which incidentally drives me crazy because ppl only know that song and they are soooo much better than that, even tho that in its own right is a beautiful love song. I was literally blown away by them and still am today. Me and my daughter have always wanted to see them in Scotland and did November just gone! It was amazing. I can relate to so many of theirs, like when my father in law sadly passed away 4 years ago, the song Act of Remembrance. It's so moving and it's sang with all the emotion that it means to them. I love music and a massive spectrum of what I love. The Proclaimers never cease to amaze me with each album they make, I always think they can't possibly do it again but they do and long may it continue!

It’s hard to pick just one song or just one Album ...... they are consistently so good. I like the new Album, but I like all their old Albums.....You Built me Up on Let’s Here it for the Dogs album is so good......and then there is Scotlands Story, to see and hear Charlie perform that one is inspiring. Who could not feel inspired by Dance With Me! They are poets!
@@SD-ce2sp Dance with me is stunning! I totally agree with you about picking songs, I've never done it before with them, because they are all so good. I just find Life With You so uplifting. I mean Tuesday Afternoon and If I'm Still Around, these are masterpieces. Like you say tho, they are poets.
Sheffielde4gles .....I met a guy, a few years from Manchester....giggle....he did not believe this yank wasn’t just trying to impress him with my fascination with The Proclaimers. He asked me what song explained me....giggle.... His jaw dropped when I told him(without hesitation)...Dance With Me. Giggle....he went pale and I just walked away. Tuesday Afternoon is the most beautiful and tender love song.....I also feel moved when I hear Wherever You Roam, it isn’t a traditional love song but it is filled with emotions that bring happiness tears to my eyes. I saw a YT of Charlie singing Scotland’s Story and again I felt so strongly moved by the passionate words and the picture the words painted of his heritage.....that was an extraordinary performance. I have a cousin who is in the music business and he comes close to Charlie’s passion with his song Red, White and Blue...on YT Travis Denning. They are very different people with very different heritage, but they both share such amazing passion for their country.
Just brilliant. I've recently took part in am dram production of sunshine on Leith and loved every minute of it. Quality singer/ songwriters.
