Visiting Edinburgh today and walked right past this outdoor venue wondering what performances have taken place there and somehow I get the answer hours later without even looking for it…..are we sure we don’t live in a simulation? Feels like it sometimes.
Absolutely. Whatever the explanation is for this insanity known as human existence, it is not to be found in religion. Far too simplistic and made up by man to control others and 'explain' the inexplicable. Sometimes the opposite of what you think happens too. Only yesterday I said in a post I do not approve of gambling but have a subscription to the UK lottery which is a huge waste of money, and that the only reason I do not cancel is that if I did, I fear my numbers would come up. Received message this morning that I have won £30, the first time I have won anything for a couple of years. Not a lot but one of those quirky things that may be linked. The older I get the less I think anything is co-incidental. More importantly, I love The Proclaimers!!
Speed this up to the one right above normal and it rocks and puts Wreckess Eric out of his misery. On normal speed, WE is lost at that very slow pace. Love the all.
W.E. gave the "wahrld" an unbelievable classic-- the original release's sound, the lyric, the way the lyric was spoken, the sparseness, the punk feel, everything about it and then, at this event, to present with this duo having a harmonic talent equal (probably) to Lennon/McCartney or even the Everly Bros, yeah wow. It may not have had the sharp verve of the original-- nothing could, but one of those magical musical events for sure-- wish i had been there (not sure the audience fully grasped the moment.)
Man, it’s just a bit on the slow side, the original is loads better, good effort though especially towards the end. I’m sure half the audience don’t even know who Wreckless Eric is.
Aye! I am glad of the "cover", but... I bit (a large bit) too sedate for me...and I'm f'ing old enough to have bought this on LP the year it came out (and drive myself to the store to get it...and beer on the way!)
Love the original Wreckless Eric version, wouldn't change the station if The Proclaimers version came on, but for some reason them singing it together i just don't like.
probably the best song of the 20th century
I'd go the whole wide world just to hear Eric sing this with anybody especially the Proclaimers. Lovin' me this in 2016!
One song, two chords, three cheers. Fantastic tune.
...fantastic...Wreckless is the reason I started a band...
Wrekless is the reason, period. ;-)
I'd go the whole wide world, just to be the man who'd go a thousand miles to fall down at your door!
Classic, and to see Eric up there with The Proclaimers, pure class.
Just Fabulous .
So good that so many more people now know Wreckless Eric punk legend

Do you think wreckless Eric traveled over 500 miles to make it to that show? Perhaps the whole wide world?
sounds funny with a Scottish accent singing it compared with Erics version but still great I do like the proclaimers
Still loving this in 2021.......
Brilliant!!!!

Double whammy....love both...
Wonderful
Super cool! Thanks for uploading that!
Freaking awesome..ty..\m/
good songs all ways stand the test of time
Doesn't get any better
E to A and back again and if you can't do it just play loud!!!
Bless you boys but you can't compete with Eric's original. Nice though.
they weren't trying to better his version
I would walk 500 miles, THEN the whole, wide world
It may have been prudent to not plug in Eric's guitar, but still a bit insulting.
Hi Dreamwell.Eric’s Guitar Amp wasn’t working our guitar tech was fixing it as he played that’s rock n roll.
Nobody ever got more mileage out of two chords.
"Jane Says" by Jane's Addiction comes close.
Should have done reconez Cherie that's a belter
I'll share all of your next of kin. Yeah.
Good, but would be better if they picked up the tempo and rocked it like punks.
Change it to 1.25 speed. I had to do it.
Wreckless Eric recorded this with Die Toten Hosen and kept the good tempo.
Wreckless desperate to play it faster ......but just a great song
.2 chords ,more than enough!
Fucking cool.
Love Wreckless Eric. I dont know what the sound engineers were dong but Eric`s guitar appears to be turned right down.

KEEP IT STIFF AND MAYBE A FUCKIN CLASSSIC .
