I am a Japanese girl living in Scotland. I proposed to my Scottish girlfriend to this song 😍 Lured her to a karaoke night with the promise of whisky 😂😂 I got down on one knee and sang this. She said yes 💕💕💕💕 Sadly our wedding is delayed due to coronavirus 😠😠 But thank you to The Proclaimers for this memory that will never be forgotten. Stay safe all. Aki

Tremendous track. I once saw them live on lusty glaze beach in Newquay. It was an awesome night. Hottest of the year. I was dancing next to a woman who was there celebrating her divorce. As they started singing 'let's get married', I decided to keep a sensible distance!😀
I mind singing this at the top of ma voiice when i was a bairn watching them in eden court inverness with a red checker shirt on and the boy charlie pointing at me to say something like "go on wee man" then saying this next ones for the wee man in the box.

Legend
‘You can have a cat as long as it barks’,one of the best and funniest lyrics ever.
Lol. Well not a cat but in better words a LION. AND DERS NO barking. He actually haves a back bone. Amen to that.

We had this at our wedding, played in the church while we signed the register in 1994, still sends a tingle through me.
