Woow!!loveee this tutorial, been trying to look for tutorials like this on youtube, like for ever.Thank you soo very much. This could also be used for panties to right?Thank you!!
Cool Grl Thank you 💜 Yes you can use this tutorial to create panties. Cutting at the waistline, adjusting your ease, and adding the proper seam allowance will give you a perfect fitting bottom.
Your tutorial helped me to understand how to shape the seating area of the crotch better than any video I found! Thank you for that! I do have one question: how do I determine where the crotch line is from my hip line?
Really great tutorial! Just had one questions, when you mark the crotch depth are you dividing the number by 2? Like if my crotch depth is 8” would I mark 4” down from the hip line?
Thank You! No, I didn't divide the number in half. I marked the full crotch depth that was taken by me measuring from my waist to the bottom of my buttocks while sitting down in a chair.
On the pattern, the crotch depth should be marked from the center front waistline, not from the hip. Otherwise the crotch will be super long lol. Your wording was a bit confusing there.
@@TheManifestDestiny_ Ok, I may have gotten my wording confused during the tutorial. But the crotch is measured from waist to the bottom of buttocks while sitting in a chair. Then, it should be plotted on the pattern from the waist point as well.
Erm Dear Ty, I managed to make the pattern and sew but it looked weird at the crotch area. Did I have to divide the crotch depth before marking? I wish I could show a picture of the finished product tho Regards
the great tutorial just i have a question when you drow point G, the lenght of side seam is not equal, the side seam fo front is longer than the side seam of the back.
Ok, I may have gotten my wording confused during the tutorial. But the crotch is measured from waist to the bottom of buttocks while sitting in a chair. Then, it should be plotted on the pattern from the waist point as well.
@@TyKent The wording is fine. it's point G that is a problem. On the front, G is below the EF-line, on the back it's above the EF-line 9:40 That makes the two seams on the side have very different lengths In the following drawing, they are suddenly and about correctly the same height. 10:20 I think they need to be exactly the same height so the two side seams match.
If you are making a custom Leo, would you begin with all of the clients measurements? Also, how do you then combine them when the hip areas are different on the front and back?
For anything custom, I use client's measurements per request. The front and back of the bodysuit are shipped differently in the hip area so the hip will be different either way. The bodysuit connects in the crotch area and slightly above the hip. There should be no issues adjusting the measurements to fit client and combining front and back piece.
Thank you so much! I’m tired of buying ballet Leo’s for my daughter and thought I’d save some $ making my own! Wish me luck! Good thing they just wear all black! No trying to match up patterns etc
Wait how are you suppose to sew this?? On the front bodice the G is lower and on the back the G is higher. The front of the front bodice is longer then the back and I'm confusing on how to sew this because I will have an extra hanging on the front.

I am working on fixing the issue. Not sure what is going on but I am in contact with the hosting site. As soon as it is fixed I will let you know. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Front G and Back G wont match. your reply "I may have gotten my wording confused during the tutorial. But the crotch is measured from waist to the bottom of buttocks while sitting in a chair. Then, it should be plotted on the pattern from the waist point as well" does not help

@@tiffanystoppelmoor8226 Lol I understand. My daughter is a little fashionista in gymnastics and loves her a cute leo. But, you got this mama!

Same question!!! Were you able to sew it?
How do you see the sides if the back is 2 inches higher than the front
