@Mike, if my chains are even numbered, let’s say 220+8, for some reason I end the 2nd row with FPDC instead of SC...is there something wrong with my count?

I love all your tutorials. I find them very easy to fallow. You also have a very good instructional voice. Thank you so much for sharing your creations with us. I've made several blankets with your tutorials. I've only been crocheting for about a year so I'm still a beginner, however my work does't look like a beginner.

I love this. I want to do it in selected stripes with gray, dark red, white, black, and turquoise. My mom had a Navajo crochet blanket at one time with those colors, can’t remember the design, might have just been zigzag/chevrons, but I like this even better.

Hi Mikey I know this is an older tutorial but I thought I’d ask a question anyway in case you’ll see this… I am wondering your thoughts on using a velvet yarn. I am a little nervous about this type of yarn because people say that it creates “noodles” after your item is washed or just used. But I bought a bunch of it (it’s so soft) and am trying to find a good pattern using velvet. Thanks for your reply if you see this. I do like this pattern. And definitely want to try it. 😊

I'm looking for a pattern that a handicapped child would enjoy tactile-y. Would you suggest this one? Doesn't have to be too large - and can be in one color (unless his mom tells me differently).

A highly textured blanket would be good. The first thing that comes to mind is the boho pocket shawl but the pattern can easily be made into a blanket by repeating the pattern over and over. Pattern is on etsy

This is the third pattern I've done with the exact same yarn and recommended hook size. My tension is not tight, but every project has come out relatively stiff without a "normal" blanket flow/drape. My sister has done 2 other patterns and had the same problem. It seems to me that perhaps the recommended hook size in these patterns is too small. I dont want to frog 30 rows of 116 stitches but a 6.5mm hook does not seem to be working.
Does anyone know if washing or blocking would solve the stiffness? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! 😊

I tried to do this, love the way it looks but I tried 4 times and it never worked for me. I would get to set up row 3 and stitches wouldn't work out. Then it did once and I got two rows up with the larks foot and everything looked slanted to the left, too many hours wasted. I'm sad to say I wont try again

Can anyone tell me how many single crochets there should be in the second row of the repeat? I'm assuming there should be 116 as that is how many you start with but I wind up with 89 or so instead. Should it be 116? The pattern does not state how many. Thank You!!

I would love to buy this beautiful symphony yarn too and I plan on it eventually, but my stash is so extensive right now I’m going to substitute a 4 weight and use a 5 mm hook. I’ll chain 11 until it’s as wide as I like and add 8 as Mikey instructs. I would suggest you can use any yarn using this multiple + 8 and the appropriate hook for the yarn.
