Sarai sempre il più grande di tutti !!! sarai sempre nei nostri cuori e non dimenticheremo mai le emozioni che ci hai dato con i tuoi dischi e i tuoi concerti....grazie
The thing is at that time they didnt have recordings with correct pitch so oistrakh g string isnt really out of tune its the recording that is very very very very out of tune anyway really breathtaking perfomance of david oistrkh he is true violinist
Good point. It sounds like like goofy errors to me. I have heard this same piece recorded correctly and it was perfect. This one is nice though to compare; gives you an appreciation for just how in-control David Oistracht was of his instrument. Check out the one played live (same one that was lifted for the Henry & June soundtrack). Gives me goosebumps that such sound quality could be achieved in 1930's Germany, but then again, BMW, Telefunken, Bonowi, etc. And thats the short list.

I believe DO is the finest instrumentalist ever recorded-
I think it sounds great. just imagine of the greats played on recordings of today.... They'd be beyond great.
Ésta versión en violín y piano me transporta a mi juventud inquieta y...me devuelve a mi presente romántico con mi esposa.
