    The green screen looks old fashionned, the piano sounds old fashionned, the moving of camera is old fashionned, yes. But the violins sound looks so modern, the esthetic is so up-to-date... Oistrakh had half a century foward. Fantastic !

    Yes, very good with the legenday Oistrakh precision. Equally exciting is Aaron Rosand's recording (playing both parts) with absolute control and possibly superior understanding of the "Navarra" mood.

    • @dlf3141
      @dlf3141 5 месяцев назад +1

      Rosand plays Sarasate pieces wonderfully -- he made a whole album of them that was given to me in the 1970s, still my favorite performances of most of those pieces. And yes, he did the Navarra beautifully on that album! That said, I was also thrilled to find this performance by the Oistrakhs, so glad Ningfengviolin posted it!

    unfortunately the recording runs too fast. The A is already almost 447, at that time in Russia was 440 Standard. That also means, that the vibrato sounded much less nervous in the original live performance. And it was slower. Maybe somebody can correct this.
