Musicisti allo stato puro....
So sad to think that Oistrach was gone four short years later, barely 66 years old. Fortunately, Richter lived many more years, till he was 82.
The unsurpassable Russian chemistry!! The personification of magnificence. Thank God I was born to hear this...
Oistrakh's greatness does not lie in his hands, but in his mind and his heart.
why??
Because they control the hands
ThinkBeforeYouPost They control, predetermine even, everything, yes.
....not only mind, but heart , too...& too many other things from they personalities- S.R. -also.Two huge Artists of 20 century!! Bravo.....
But also his hands
I like the fact that Richter wants to stay behind Oistrakh all the time while the applause
Because Richter is very humble..!
The humble MONSTER 😂
One of the best music videos on RUclips.
I was extremely lucky to be present at one spontaneous recital of Oistrakh, Richter and Rostropovich in a small spa- town of Estonia, where Oistrakh stayed with his wife for their vocation. 2 Slavas( Richter and Rostropovich) visited him for a few days. Unforgettable! They were enjoying each other and gave a thrilling performance.
That sounds almost too amazing to be true, that must be a wonderful memory
@@LC-xv1oh yes, it was! It was hard to believe that 3 musical giants were lightheartedly playing in the small club house, just to enjoy each other, giving us- spontaneous audience a life time thrill. All three of them loved performing together, there are many recordings to prove that. Oistrakh was having heart problems already and that Estonian resort of sorts was his favorite place to take rest and recharge.
I am coveting...
The brilliance of Richter and Oistrakh is for all to see! True legends and both Russians!
Both Soviet. Richter, obviously, was German. Oistrakh was a Ukrainian Jew from Odessa.
What a previlege to have been there to here these titans
50 years ago this miraculous event occurred - thanks for posting!
The Brahms is a phenomenal performance.
Fantastic performance that touches the bottom of my heart. Thank you for sharing this video with us. mm
Thank you very much from Odesa, Ukraine!
I’ve been wanting to visit Odessa after learning Oistrakh was from that city which is known for raising violinists.
Two geniuses at work...!!
Great close ups! Seeing their hands and expressive faces- things that impossible to see in a concert hall. They are living and breathing music they play. Fabulous!
The best playing of this Brahms sonata ever...
There's a wonderful recording by a young Horowitz and Suk. It's one of my favorite chamber music performances.
You should go for Ginette Neveu live in Salle Gaveau, Paris, a few days before her tragic accident..
Much more exciting and inspiring..
I love when classical musicians do encores.
Shows they are playing for the audience instead of money.
Wonderful musicians
Usually encores are played better than the programmed music. At that moment artists are free, and they FEEL themselves free. The joy of the Scherzo comes from other world.
Greatest artist of all times ? I think so
Too good! Just too good! The understanding between these greats is telepathic
danke, super
Well, I must say that I am somewhat new to David Oistrakh. I just wish I had attended at least one of his concerts/recitals. What a remarkable talent Oistrakh is.... And I have always loved Richter's playing....I agree with all of the other comments....the music-making and chemistry is quite sublime. Thank you, Vladivostok 1969. You have definitely made my evening!!
That Brahms sonata, Wow !
What makes this performance great is not only the two artists, but their way of placing their thoughts and expressions, without reservations, just shear beauty.
Two geniuses playing another genius! What more could one ask for..... Sublime ...!!
this is exactly what I said when I posted this in my group on FB!!!!
richter and oistrakh!2 legend!
What a great partnership!
Oistrakh and Richter(all my idol of piano and violin)? What an interested version!!Thanks for upload❤
Absolutely marvellous! They are both great on so many levels!!
Oistrakh smiles a little as he plays the encore - such a perfect and well-chosen ending - so witty.

One can see, feel and hear EXPRESSION & VIRTUOSITY IN Oistrakh & Richter!
Wow my two favorites! Oistrakh is great with Oborin, too, of course, but this is even better. Spacebo bolshoe!
The whole concert was beautiful.
But the most exciting thing was, certainly, the smile outlined by Richter at the end of the encore.
Thanks for posting.
And not only Richter's smile, but the kiss he gave Oistrach. Such a touching moment!
Two giants of their respective instruments performing together.
Unbelievably brilliant ~ two titans at their best ..~
I wroth diss and I soul your comments!!
Absolutamente recomendable para todos
Love Beethoven because violin and piano are equals.
Möbius Strip what a dumb remark.
Two giants as we will
never hear again.
Thanks to the Gods
for these blessings.
Sublime
I appreciate this film very much. Great musicians. Lucky me that I found it.❤️
Beautiful
Monumental.....
Thank you for this wonderful upload!
che meraviglia !
It is an unmitigated miracle to see and hear these two monsters musicians of the XXth century, alive and well and playing like the angels. Two giant Russians artists, arguably the best in the world at the time in their respective instruments. The sound cannot be the same, but it is close enough to the reality of the concert hall, and the viewing is impossible to get at any price in reality. Why do Russians, and Jewish Russian in particular, achieve such mastery, and why do they possess this musical genius? One is forced to admit that there are circumstances that favor the growth and blossoming of these superior persons and exceptional artists. Thanks Vladivostok for posting.
Fantastic to hear those two legends in a usa recital . Unique Artistry ! Thank you for uploading this gem !

Two giants.
Eternal and man made
Bravo
Wow!
sheer top summit
