Chorus:
All the players came, from far and wide
Wearing afros and braids, kicking them gangsta rides
Now I'm here to tell ya, there's a better day
When the player’s ball is happening, all day e’ryday

RIP Rico. Came here for that intro. Dungeon Family forever.
I'm devastated
The intro was fire.... This was one of the biggest tracks that helped put OUTKAST and ATLANTA on the map.... SIDENOTE.... it was Wade's idea for Dre to wear the Braves jersey.... because Wade knew it was LEGACY time for ATL ....
RIP WADE .... He knew it was important for Dre to wear that ATLANTA Braves jersey.... Because OUTKAST was going to put ATL on the map.... Part of HIP HOP history....
This is the OutKast that I miss, damn I miss the 90's.
That feeling u get when the piano comes on and Rico Wade talks about dem lacs omg takes me back to 10th grade 93
Hell yea
I was a jit in kindergarden. But this was my introduction into rap. Outkast, nas, biggie, Craig mack, 2pac, bone thugs, queen Latifah, da brat, wu tang clan, snoop dogg, goodie mobb, Dr. Dre & tribe called quest all got me into rap in 93/94.
Better then original version
I thought it was just me that felt this part
Me too 🔥
This version, the remix version is absolutely amazing than the original version. This one was so soulful and you can tell by listening to the beat
Agreed!
Trenton Hobbs exactly
The original beat brings it Hard, and is fuckin' Pimp, OG gangsta. Imo.
Jon Palmer like em both but like this version more
This has that hot summer night with the window down vibe
This never gets old and this Atlanta will forever be on my mind!
I miss this Atlanta
@@taylonsingleton5245 yes…the new Atlanta is quite scary and unrecognizable from what I loved about it in the 90s.
Been in ATL for a couple of decades but this song speaks to me. F.I.L.A.
Same
When this track got airplay in NY back in '94, my older brother used to clown me for liking this track. Two albums later, he couldn't get enough of OutKast. He never could give me a straight up reason why he didn't dig OutKast's first album. He was probably hating just because it was hip to clown them at the time.
Weird to think there was a time when it was cool to hate on Outkast
Trust me...I know...being from new York, I definitely got ridiculed...
@@fedoramcclaren4294 Well Outkast did get booed, I forgot if it was the Vibe or the Source awards in 95 - 96. That's when he said one of the most famous speech to come out the South, "The South got some to say". Probably because all the beef & tension that was there from The East vs West Coast beef.
@@chinohuerta1718 source awards
@@fedoramcclaren4294 lol probably mad because Outkast and the south took over they make me proud being a Georgia native as well
This song is the SOUTH.
SOUTH
da dirty SOUTH
Preach
We roll different
They rode this beat to perfection
Love this version. I remember buying southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik and getting upset after hearing the album version was different from this (only the reprise had this beat). Still a top ten greatest hip-hop album but wish they included this version on the album.
You know that was common in the 90s. Same thing happened when I bought Tical and the All I Need album version was different from the one playing on the radio. I hated that lol
@@662chillin damn homeboy I run into you everywhere on RUclips. Shit I guess you got good taste in ol school southern rap music
Top 10 album for sure
Same here😂
blackchang1981, u and me both!!!
That piano just make you smile
One Of the best Piano ive ever heard in my life. Soulful AsF.
Da Souf Got Something 2 Say! ❤
Rest in power Ric! Soundtrack of my childhood
Born raise in GA.. The very first video i seen of rappers that look, dress and talked like me.At a time where you only seen NY and West Coast rappers and videos. What a great feeling
I've ALWAYS loved this version better.
It has a much more soulful feel to it.
i remember this version was on BET i always liked this one better
Me too!
I felt the same way back in the day.
Yes, the reprise version is on the album but not the full song. Its really a b-side, but i agree.
The other version is more Christmasy and it makes sense since it went on a Xmas compilation- this version is more chill
I like this version better too!
This is what I hate about nostalgia.
You can never go back to that time and place when you heard "that" song that made you feel.
All you can do is reminisce.
This is the song that started my love affair with southern hip hop in 90s, memories...
meke Monroe ✊
Southern classic 😊
Man, they were still teenagers when this came out.
Lol couldn't eem buy a rello these days #youngins
Majority of the rappers during this era were making classics as teenagers.
Grim Fury they were or in their early 20's
Xscape ..bone thugs were teenagers during their first ablum
@@jennyjones4099 Musical Youth
R.I.P. Rico Wade 😢😢😢
Before the South became mainstream. I love the original southern hip hop like this. This was the good times.
This version is EASILY TOP 3 favs from OutKast
Personal favorite. I love this version better than the album version. I miss the 90's.
This is when record companies would make the video/ radio version different from the album version forcing fans to purchase both!!!!!
That piano
Elijah Dreamprayer66 lol. It's called musicianship
Elijah Dreamprayer66 and tambourine
AMN O-Jay thats a drum kit you hear bro
AMN O-Jay actually a. Drum kit. Looped. Over a drum machine + plus piano cords
Militantreturns piano CHORDS not cords.....
This was the song that started my love affair with southern hip hop and I’m from New York, long live Rico Wade, thank you for apart of my teenage years
This was the song that made me start listening to OutKast. I saw this video on Rap City when BET actually played music videos
This was just a peak of the greatness these dudes had within them! Check out the 90's lingo."I got the HOOCHIE waiting... I'm wide open on the freeway, MY PAGER broke my vibe..." Love it! These were the days man!
Unc75503 I think Atliens and aquemini was their peak. They were so hungry on this album it shined through
This version of Players Ball is my favorite song IN LIFE. EVER.
"The south got something to say"
No hate to South but i miss the Old South Music
That boy Andre killed it with that. No love for the South at the vibe awards. Just them East Coast & West Coast niggas beefin, they didn't even show love to Bone Thugs either, probably because they was from the Midwest & also because they were Eazy E's artist. Like Devin the Dude said once 'No one was listening to the South'
And that’s all I got to say
I remember this version coming on the radio I immediately feel in love with this remix!
I recall being so disappointed when I bought the cassette/CD only to find a different version of the song on the album. (the radio stations were playing the remix) I never did find a hard copy of the remix.
need this version on spotify!
Yesssssssss!!!!
This is my favorite version. I wish this version was on the album but we have the reprise.
Happy Birthday Andre 3000 been lovin Outkast 4 years!!!
ATL For Life Outkast Forever
This song is the truth.

Hard to disagree but I'd put Crumblin' Herb up there too
the remix is the best verison; i fn love this song !
What time to have experienced this era and the Era before. ❤
Classic bring back so many memories as a kid like playing nba jam & bumping this those was the days almost felt a tear drop main
This gives me goosebumps
Southern hip hop, funk hip hop, soul, neo soul, Atlanta hip hop, R&B gave Outkast a blessing in music today!
This came out my junior year of high school in Tx...and even years later it's aged like fine wine! This was my favorite rap crew back in the good ole days!
Classic even in 2017!
perry mcnee they don't rap on this version this version is short on the CD
2020 now
That best XMAS song ever!
Rest In Power Rico Wade 🙏🏾🕊🙏🏾🕊🙏🏾. #OutKast #2024 4 Life 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!!!!!
get chills when I watch this version of this video it's the one they originally aired
Such nostalgia love it 🎉🎉❤❤❤
If Tupac was on this track he would have killed it the beat is nice and everything classic song
I love this version..the best was before it’s time but right on time at the same time..Wayne version go crazy too he did the beat super justice in the Dj drama mixtape era ❤
On their CD, this beat was on the Player's Ball Reprise. Glad to hear that used it on the remix. Straight music for any occassion :)
Jesus thank god they put this version on here. 94-i was 16 first time when this came out. White guy who loved hip hop. To me this the Southern rap anthem. I think this version on their greatest hits album from 01
The swag is bonkers and off the meter 🎚😀✊️.
Miss these guys 2gether. Dynamic Duo! 4real! Let's go 3000 & Big Boi #
These guys and The Goodie Mob were the only Southern Hip-Hop groups that I like.
This was my joint. In 1994. And it still is. In 2018
This video on BET was my introduction to theses fellas and been jammin’ with them ever since 🙌🏽
Thanks for posting this summer 94 y'all
DF forever! Best Christmas song ever. Outkast all day, a'n day.
Yessuh
Outcast!!
I liked this version so much more that I would get upset when BET played the regular version. It was always a toss up to which one would come on.
Liked this much more than the original takes me back to summer 94
Real Atlanta!!!
Yep
R.I.P Rico came back to the legendary intro to one of ny favorites by outkast❤😇
About time the label uploaded this version of the video to RUclips. I prefer this version over the album version...
I forgot about this.....I loved this version
Still so funky
If I'm not mistaken I think Player's Ball was first released on a LaFace Christmas album and the rest is history.
Thank goodness for music videos. Grew up on this stuff. Suburbans bumpin the parents minivan.
Growing up during this golden era! You know what it is! For all these young people! Thank God for you tube! For you!
Love this song and this version!! I had just graduated from high school when this song came out!! Outkast put the South on the map for Hip Hop!!!!

Sometimes the universe gives us people who create music 4 us in a major way! An Outkast were some of those guys !
