Lyrics:
All the players came from far and wide
Wearing afros and braids, kicking them gangsta rides
Now I'm here to tell you there's a better day
When the player's ball is happening, all day ery'day

This still bangs today. GOD I miss the flow that OutKast had, there's nothing like it anymore. This that music you can vibe to, relax to, and dance too. OutKast is a genre itself.
Yeah literally, it’s so hard to find music that is soooo chill but you could also dance to, nothing out now is as good as the 90s sounds and especially outkast

I'll never forget being like 9 years old hearing so fresh so clean for the first time, back when you use to go around the corner to that shady ass spot on the corner for dvds and cds that just dropped for the low low 😆
Earthgang!
This beat is so fucking dope.
Couldn’t have said it better myself man. Sooooo fuckin dope! Illlll as hell! I remember when this album came out while I was in high school. My friends and I played it nonstop for years. Still one of the best of all time IMO.
for real
📠
I wish this was as on radio now
When I first heard it, it was my least favorite, I couldn't understand it.
Then the video debuted on BET and it's like the visual woke up my mentals and I could not understand how I was so blind.
What a run that Outkast had from 1993 to 2004. The only rap group to have a Diamond album.

Everything should make music timeless fr tho.
All day, an day...
Still one of the best hip hop beats ever produced.
Lol
Isaiah Garfias yes sir straight fire!
One of the best rap songs ever created, period
Isaiah Garfias 3000 actually did this beat with a lil help from Rico Wade
Isaiah Garfias HELL FUCKING YES! That little laugh that shows up in the instrumental adds such a rich touch.
This was so far ahead of its time that I remember when it first dropped in 1996, I couldn’t understand their vision at the time. This is the true art of storytelling and intelligence infused into hip hop.
Eminem fez o clipe fuck feito por esse clipe ai
I remember being shocked hearing this on MTV in tge middle of the night when they played upcoming artists thinking they were amazing but so niche sounding that they'd never be that big. I was wrong.
@@ShiftyShifts you weren't wrong...
I remember seeing Player's Ball, seeing André had on a Braves jersey, seeing pine trees, and wondering what part of New York this accent and group were from.
Indoctrination is a helluva drug...I was already programmed that great hip hop HAD to come from above the Mason Dixon line.
I'm keeping it a buck...we are ALWAYS fighting for our spirit and mind.

Word 👊
"True I got more fans than the average man but not enough loot to last me to end of the week, I live by the beat like you like check to check, if you don't move yo feet then I don't eat so we like neck to neck"
💜👽✊
+Bre'ona Russ that flow blows my mind every listen.
+Nathan Gray Seriously mines too and I'm always left amazed at how it flowed so smoothly with the beat 👌
+Nathan Gray I agree 😃
+Bre'ona Russ Not even just the flow, the truth, artists do really rely on the average person.
Bars
Rico Wade was buried today in Atlanta. Never forget him.
There will never be another rap duo like OutKast. Peace and love.
You have to go and listen to Earthgang if you love Outkast. They’re not better but I feel is a younger version of Outkast
Quavo and takeoff was supposed to carry on the duo legacy smh. Rip take

Every album Outkast did they pushed they set the bar higher. You get your money worth each time as a music lover. Not only was it a hip hop album, they added soul, funk, rock, spoken word, jazz, blues, all in one pot.
Players ball IS still MY favorite song
True Facts
Ong
Agreed. I play guitar mostly blues, rock type but outlast has always had me listening and loving
They were so different every album each album should have flopped. That shows the level of talent they had. Hip hop groups stuck to the sound that blew them up at that time back then.
20 years later and still listening to this.
Facts
Filthy 👍
Jeremy Gillespie Lmao you peaked in high school
Filthy yeah bra!!
Filthy sound way better than most of da bullshit rap out now
Shit will forever be a banger. The lyrics the beat the flow, these dudes are unstoppable and one of the most essential hip hop groups to walk on planet earth.

Outkast will always give off these nostalgic vibes to me
"True I got enough fans then the average man but not enough loot to last me, to the end of the week see I live off the beat like you live check for check, if you don't move your feet then I don't eat so we like neck to neck"

My father was one of the scientists in Red in this video! I will NEVER forget this dope experience with Dre n Big Boi while working with them and other friends and family in 1996...I believe the shoot was in Sanford, FL area somewhere out in the sticks! Lol
This is also the place I learned how to play Chess! So, to the men in the white tent during our breaks (take 1) that taught me and my little sis Thank you! Thanks OutKast for just being real asf
This story is SO...fcking dope...I always wondered where they shot this. What a time to be alive and what a childhood experience.

Hello I’m Legend lol
@@chocdimples77 Ditto!
This song doesn't hit as hard in my family truckster as it did 25 years ago on 15's in my Eldorado but I still clap my stock speakers like I'm 17 again.
Still smooth as ever!
Outkast was in a league all by themselves. They can't even be duplicated. Dre and Boi had those futuristic lyrics!
Right
Canibus has futuristic lyrics
+Abner King nah he got scientific shit
When I was just a young child I used to love playing this song because the beat is one of the best ever made, but as I’ve discovered who I AM, not only are the lyrics deep, but the video concept is on another level!! It’s important to know who you are because WHEN YOU KNOW YOU KNOW! 👁

What is this song about
@@stayoncodetexastexas5684 about the system enslaving black people and making them earn less then their worth. Especially that last verse from 3k talks about how assume he has alot of money but only has enough money to survive. Very deep. Our system will dumb us down so that we don't find true meaning in life
Naww wayyy deeper

I love the reference of how they made about society towards black people and nonblack people. Outkast was far beyond its time. A gem to humanity.

This was the first Outkast song I heard. My brothers were living in Florida and when they came home to Philly, they brought this record. I vividly recall how the beats and flows moved me at 12 years old. Seeing Outkast live at VooDoo Fest in New Orleans was a dream come true. They are truly flawless, timeless, limitless. Complex seriously needs to do a Magnum Opus on this song. Southernplayalistic established Outkast in the industry; You knew they were a solid southern hip hop group. But, I have never seen a group who established themselves COMPLETELY RE-ESTABLISH themselves with the first single from their next album. This was so radically different from their previous work and low-key changed hip hop. This was not the natural progession of the sound they had on Southern Playa...Growing up in Atlanta and experiencing this when it came out, I just remembered being stunned when I heard this was made by Outkast. Andre became 3000 and completely changed his flow while Big Boi kept it strictly local with the Lyrics. This song showed you the potential of Outkast's sound which was unlike anything on the radio period.
Trill104 You articulated this so eloquently. You should write professionally...Real Talk
Trill104 very very true. How many acts can totally transform and go out of left field and arguably become better in the process after already dropping a hit album? That's hard as hell to do
Trill104 u right though. Mfers HAD to pay attention once this came out. Benz and Beamerz did do some pre leg work though
Trill104 fuck complex. Glorified buzzfeed
ORGANIZED NOIZE PRODUCED WHOLE ALBUM CUH
OutKast has to be from the future. Nobody can sound like Andre , he is on another plane of existence. Been listening since 1996 to present day 2023.
one thing that always strikes me about Outkast was how creative their music videos have always been. The music speaks for itself. Timeless hip hop without any precedent. But their videos were as original as the group itself. Yeah they might never record another album, but for a solid 8 years the two shared an incredibly unique vision and created some of the best music fans of the genre will ever hear.
