  • This is an all levels yoga sequence for before bed. Use it to stimulate a restful sleep, or practice it anytime of day that you want to calm down. Doing yoga before bed is ideal because it stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system, preparing your body for sleep and relaxation.
Stretching and meditating are two of the best activities you can do (in my opinion) before going to sleep. In this 25-minute free yoga class, I show you the yoga poses I love that prepare your body to sleep and relax. If we all did some form of yoga before bed, we'd also have a better and more relaxing sleep - and maybe sweeter dreams too :)
Thanks for watching this Yoga Before Bed yoga class! Please don't for get to Subscribe to my channel for more free yoga classes!
So much love from my heart to yours, Namaste!

I’ve been practicing yoga for about 7 years now, starting with RUclips Brett Larkin and Sarah Beth yoga. I’ve grown so much in my practice, that I do my own flows with music, attend workshops, & attend a few classes once in awhile.
On nights when I am so anxious, wired, tired, scattered & burnt out so much that I can’t focus my attention on my own flow + breathing combined
I always return to this video ❤️ having bretts voice guide me on the amount of seconds to do each breath brings me back with no distraction from my own mind
This is a night like that.
Thank you Brett Larkin for inspiring my journey, your content, and this video

Ok so I'm a beginner and I felt like this wasn't really relaxing at all it was actually quite difficult keeping my balance and opening my hips for some parts ur 10 minute one is definitely much more bedtime suited 😌 maybe I'll come back to this one once I have more practice in 😅

Yoga is your own thing. But, have you tried Gentle Yin Yoga? It's great for letting all the stress go without adding more. This routine is not for beginners. Here's this until I can find you better. ruclips.net/video/SoymL3XAHWk/видео.html

thanks Brett! At first I wasn't sure if this was "relaxing" enough...but after all the deep stretches it really made me feel "deep" and drowsy at the end if that makes sense! Just what I needed to wind down! Definitely enjoyed your sequence, thank you again! Namaste and good night :)

a little difficult for beginners and i feel like it didn't release as much tension as i was hoping. i do feel more relaxed and sleepy though and i don't regret doing this one.

I truly enjoyed this practice, Im a dancer, and get home pretty late and really love to do at least 30 minute practice to wind down from bed. I love your pranayama approach and hope you come out with some more of just meditation sequences. The breathe is most important to me honestly, and I loved this. My only critique, or more like suggestion, would maybe have been to add some type of posture on the back. Maybe happy baby, legs in the air or agianst the wall or even knees to chest, something of that caliber. Thanks so much for posting this ! you have a new subscriber

I’ve never left feedback on any yoga videos on RUclips but I felt I had to with this one.
I just had a baby 7 months ago, and I’ve been suffering from severe anxiety, specifically at night time. I’m consumed with so many worries and what if’s. So I’ve started practicing yoga again for the past two months. I have 2 years of Bikram yoga experience, so it’s been easy to jump back into some of the foundations & flow of yoga postures, but I am absolutely clueless of breathing and meditation which is what I really need for my mental stress. I’ve been watching RUclips videos for 2 months trying to learn how to calm my mind and although I’ve learned a lot, i haven’t really had much luck getting the full effect of peace of mind.
I tried this video last night before bed and wow I felt so much better and calm that I had to leave a comment on this. Before I did the video, I had just spent over an hour trying to get my baby to sleep, so my tension was extreme, but after this video, I nearly fell asleep on my yoga mat.
Incorporating deep relaxing stretches while extending the length of each exhale and emphasizing the exhale slower and slower, really helped make my body feel as if it were melting. The meditation at the end did wanders to. Meditation has been difficult for me because my mind wanders no matter how hard I try to focus. But Bree’s method of holding the breath after each inhale and exhale and extending the exhale really helped me put focus on my breath.
I finally got some good sleep last night, was able to go right back to sleep whenever my baby woke up, and I feel so much lighter and happier today.
It took me two months to find the perfect sequence for bedtime and calming down and finally this is it! Thank you so much Bree.

Also forgot to add, but after childs pose at the end, I crawled to the wall and did legs up on the wall with the same breathing method done in this video. Worked wonders.

BrettLarkinYoga Hi Brett ! Thanks for responding! that’s very sweet of you. You’ve definitely become my main mentor. I can’t keep myself interested and follow through most other RUclips yoga instructors, your videos have been perfect ! so I’m blessed to have found your channel.
I wanted to ask, do you have any videos or tips for safely strengthening the knees and ankles or any videos that explain safe alignment?
I’m super tall and lanky, which is awesome bc my body type has made my flexibility come back pretty quickly; But I was extremely lazy when I was pregnant. So my muscle tone and strength is not completely up to par. I had my first ankle sprain scare but luckily it turned out fine in a matter of days (I did your easy chair yoga sequence during that difficult time. Haha).
I’ve been practicing very very often to deal with my moods, anxiety and insomnia. I’m extremely determined and dedicated to the point where my ankles are extremely sore some days & I’m worried of injuring myself from a sudden misstep
When I jump into a Warrior pose or any pose with feet wide apart, I’m not 100% on my alignment which in turn, makes me worried I’m doing more harm then good with my ankles on these types of postures. Which would be very unfortunate bc all of the Warrior postures, lunges, and vinyasa flows have become so uplifting for me.
Ps: I have that same exact yoga mat in me and my daughter’s room! I’ve learned from being a new mommy that it is wise to have a yoga mat ready in almost every room. Gaim definitely is assigned to the most used rooms and this one is my favorite ☺️ another reason I loved this video hahaha.
I wonder if the designs on Gaim mats are meant to help with alignment issues. Because sometimes I find when I’m in table position my wrists, torso, and ankles are perfectly aligned with the design on this particular mat. Or maybe it’s just my imagination?
I apologize for the lengthy response, and throwing a lot at ya.
I’ve become very passionate into yoga practice/meditation. And I’m needing it to find a peace of mind. I need it so that I can be my most peaceful & happy self because my sweet baby deserves the most radiant part of me that I know I can be. There’s not many studios or anybody in my family or friends who are interested in it, except for my baby whose my biggest fan. So it’s been something I’ve been trying to achieve & learn alone solely through videos and now trying books too. I purchased a book you recommended: Light on Yoga. I’m mostly a visual learner but this has become a great reference tool and I actually am enjoying learning the religion behind the practice. So Thank you for that recommendation too!

This class should help with your ankles and knees: ruclips.net/video/vKiCe6kk0PI/видео.html
If you search Brett Larkin downdog, my tutorial videos should pop up. I also have videos for fixes on the warrior poses on the channel. Also want to mention that you can get feedback on your alignment from your mentor in my membership community Uplifted, if that is something you would be interested in.
