had this tune in my head for like ever and been listening to her version and not one of the best female vocalists but one of the best vocalists ever and this girl has pipes we love you linda.
I’ve loved this song and Linda Ronstadt since the first time I heard this as a 12 yo in the 60s. She was able to sing every style of music and always did an amazing interpretation of every song she performed. It is such a shame that Linda can’t sing any more.

Why is it that when I watch and listen to her, almost regardless of the song she’s singing, my eyes fill with tears - and I’m an 82 year old US Marine?
I am right there with you, that lady is the only one who can make cry tears of happiness and sadness at the same time, she is and forever will be the VOICE of my life.

Linda Ronstadt could do whatever she wanted with her voice. She didn't even consider herself to be a rock singer, that style of music was almost an afterthought to her, yet she could pull it off with such panache. Definitely the most versatile singer ever.

In Denver at Mile High Sunday 3 every group on the stage started out as her backup band including the Eagles. She performed just before the Eagles who closed it out . What a day that was , that entire Stadium was literally Rocking .
She recorded a jazz album too with Riddle and I believe was in Pirates of Penzance

...same age, Allan. I listened to her from back in the '60s and still have some of her recordings. After a lifetime in music, both instrumental & vocal, I haven't come across anyone better! First... she's REAL not edited into perfection. Her sound is still as fresh and clear as ever, even if the recordings are a wee bit "aged." Getting to listen to her recent interviews is still a treasure. The voice may not be as strong as it once was but her mind is still sharp and the personality still comes through!

Love this version. Ms Ronstadt always paid homage to the music of the 60s by bringing the songs to an audience that may not have been exposed to them. This song was a big hit for its composer Doris Troy back in 1963. Also did a great version of Smokey Robinson's "Ooh Ooh Baby".
She had a great voice. She helped the Eagles get their start. Anything she sang was great.
Linda, of the several shows I caught of you back in the day, my favorite had to be in New Orleans at The Saenger Theater. You threw that beautiful, pitch perfect, powerful voice to the back of the venue as if it was nothing. Desperado brought the house down. Willie Nelson was right when he said, “there are two types of men in the world. Those that love Linda, and the rest who haven’t heard or seen her yet.” He was so right. 😉

Her glory days were a little earlier than when my musical tastes were formed so I’m only learning to appreciate her in recent months. Is there anyone else who ever looked and talked like the girl next door, but sang like a diva?

Those in love with Linda, and the rest who haven’t seen or heard her yet.” He was right. 👈 Saw her live several times with Jackson Browne, Eagles and a few others. Every song she covered, written and recorded by another artist or group she made them her own. Here’s three to ck out. Her live cover of The Stones, Tumbling Dice. Keith Richards said, “Yeah, I wrote it, but it’s Linda’s now.” Desperado, by the band Eagles, Blue Bayou by Roy Orbison, or her live performance with Chuck Berry and Keith Richards doing Chuck’s, Living In The USA. Her own, You’re No Good was quite a hit for her as well. Linda was foundational to some badass Rockers that came along right after her. Heart’s Wilson sisters and Pat Benatar all were huge fans of Linda. Btw, you’re right Joe. She was a product of The Classic Rock Era. Just heard she’ll be 78 in a few months. Was diagnosed in 2013 with Parkinson’s and no longer performs. Those of us who saw her will never forget her. Apologies for being longwinded. Regards
@@ronaldelliott4373 My earliest memory of her was hearing her cover of Blue Bayou on the country station my parents listened to. I recently stumbled on that song on RUclips. It's what sparked my new interest in her. That might be one of the greatest covers of all time.

I took my daughter to see her in Atlanta at the Fox Theater, she was 9 she took lessons from a lady named Susan who was in a blue grass band, she was pretty damn good aton the guitar. Gosh she loved Linda at the end of the concert, I asked my precious daughter ,Ashli if she wanted to walk down towards the stage you should have seen her smile, I said let's go. Linda was doing a second encore and Ashli looked up at Linda and held out her hand and Linda shook it. My gosh what a beautiful lady. , my daughter is 51 now and still loves her Linda. She am my grandson Ivan went to see Taylor Swift in Philly this year so she has never been slighted from attending concerts, she is a concert junkie! Love you my darlin' love Mom
