A masterpiece. I have the two disc set by WC & LAF. Deeply moving and extraordinarily inventive for Purcell's or any time.
My favorite version of King Arthur. I love William Christies work. Listen to his "Vespro della Beata Vergine" or his "Zauberflöte" and you know why.
This Album followed during 6 years of student life in the 90's....My best album and more over interpretation of king arthur. Best Tempo and arangement making me loving early music since two decade!
It's my great fascination!!!!
wow, Véronique Gens was so young there. She was already amazing back then...
Now why isn't this production available on DVD, all of the ones that are are weird.

The cold Genius is Petterri Saaloma. I'm not sure why his not listed in the comment.
He is excellent and certainly deserves to have been credited in the notes!
Love the music , hate the sets !

@bdunn2 I'm not one for complaining about Eurotrash, but putting the cold genius in a penguin suit was so tacky.
Michael Nyman has made a career out of this musical style.
This one looks weird in the photos. Or at least all the Japanese influence seems strange for an opera set in 5th century England.
