    My body pretty much always lets me know loud and clear... What's weird is that it varies week to week. Some weeks I can crank it out really intense for 3 -4 days before my body says, "Dude..shut me down for a day or 2, or Im going to do it for you." Sometimes after one really tough 35-45 minute session..im done the next day. Either way, I ALWAYS listen to what it is telling me :)

      Try stretching in that time then, rest is really important to gaining muscles and not burning out. You can also put on some music you love and go for a walk or do some yoga (yoga with Adrien here on RUclips is an amazing place to start). Just remember to take care of yourself!

    I was scared all the time that I wasn't doing enough but it seems I did just right.
    I thought pauses weren't so good and that I should do a lot more for my fitness but since I'm barely doing rest but mostly active rest (I tend to do sports when I'm bored after school and don't wanna work xD) I think I really should calm down and try to not be so harsh with myself.
    Thank you again and keep it up, your videos are awesome!

    I blame you guys.. I've added the 1000 calorie workouts to my schedule and decided to cut back one day off now. I used to work out 6 days a week but now I only do it 5 days. That 1000 calorie video always leaves me sore for a while everytime! Also I was feeling more fatigued but now that I take an extra day of rest, I feel better. Great videos guys.

    I usually alternate, an intensive workout on one day (30-40 min) followed by something less intense the next day (10-20 min). On Sunday, I have a day off haha. It works fine for me and I might gradually make the 'less intensive days' more intensive. + you should always stretch, when I forget, my muscles are screaming the next day!

    I've just started working out. It takes me 3 days after a hard aerobic workout to recover to be able to workout properly again. It's kind of frustrating to have to wait that long because I really enjoyed the group fitness classes I took. Important to listen to your body though. Trying to do some stretching at home on rest days, go cycling and walk my dog

    Do you guys have any advice for how to deal with (or minimise) DOMS? I have always struggled with this and even though I exercise regularly, my recovery time always seems to be 2 - 3 days and sometimes even 4. I hear different advice about this - some say to just work through it, some say to do light exercise until the soreness is gone and some say don't do anything at all! I did my last workout on Sunday night following one of your guys videos (a leg based routine) and am still feeling the DOMS today (Wednesday night). For me, even light exercise/stretching is agony for 2 - 3 days after a good challenging workout and I hate feeling like I am unable to progress as I can't seem to downsize my recovery time. I always warm up and down thoroughly and stay hydrated so any other advice would be much appreciated :)

    Hello Kelly and Daniel, is it possible for your back to be sore? Whenever I do certain exercises like last night I did your bye bye muffin top abs workout and the leg slimming pilates workout, and today my back is reallyy sore. Also is it okay to exercise when you have been very stressed lately? Does that have an effect on how your muscles work? I probably will read up about this on google too, I'm just interested to see your opinions if you replied. :)

    I just got out of the hospital with a little bit of fluid in one of my lungs and the onset of pneumonia. Come to find out both can be caused from excessive working out. I was working out perhaps 5 days in a row and then resting for two but apparently that just wasn't enough rest for my body. I learned my lesson! I will now work out 4 days a week, spreading them out though.

      I think you should definitely make a rest day... As you said, you go to the gym EVERYDAY and in my opinion you should give a break to your body and your soul just for a day, and I am pretty sure you will be more happy than usual. ( you know that during the rest day, your body is repairing itself... :)

      Also, be careful about adrenal fatigue. If anything, rest days are good for preventing that. I find it helpful to split my two days up throughout the week to avoid getting the lazies.

    How should I plan my rest days should I take two day in row or one day at the beginning of the week and the second on on the middle or end of the week?

      I think it's fine but they say after 72 hours of not working out you start to lose gains but I maybe I could be wrong you don't know with these scientific researchers

    I take one rest day a week. I generally do 30 minutes of stretching on rest day, so I guess it's not completely a rest day.

    Hello guys, nice to meet you. A few month ago, I follow you and I take time for made the workout. But I have a question, in your video screem in the right down corner, appear two values from Calories, What did you mind with that numbers? because are differents. Or each value represent the burn calorines for her and him? Thank you.

    • @pinkpeonygirl
      @pinkpeonygirl 9 лет назад

      Pamela Lanza The numbers you see are an estimate of the low and high end of the calories one might expect to burn during each particular workout. It depends on your fitness level, age, how hard you squeeze your muscles etc. I wear a heart rate meter with calorie burn an although I have a very rapid heartbeat, making every exercise intense, I usually end up on the lower end of the numbers they give.

    Can someone give me some advice? Im a college student on summer vacation. Im spending 5-6 hours on my feet every day doing waitress work (yet im not losing any fat, nor gaining noticable muscle). My calves ache and my feet hurt so i cant exercise. I used to workout when i didnt have this part-time job but now that i have it, i dont know what to do.

      You need anaerobic exercise to burn fat and build muscle. Such as HIIT, weights, interval training. It can be just 20minutes every other day.

    • @nhimcon6750
      @nhimcon6750 6 лет назад

      @@kimmyj1512 is it possible to do HIIT without putting strain on the feet and calves though? Most HIIT videos i see on fitness blender use the lower body.
      Thanks for your reply!

    What if I don't rest?

    • @shahzebnasir4692
      @shahzebnasir4692 8 лет назад +9

      Your muscles will not grow, you'll get sleepy a lot, you'll feel very fatigued, you'll get sick more often, you won't be able to go very hard in the gym, just the thought of going to the gym will make you want to cry. Muscle building happens when you rest because during the workout all you do is tear down the muscle fibres to stimulate growth of size and strength.

      +Shahzeb Nasir I'm a track and field athlete and I don't take rest day I make sure to do 30 min of exercise if I'm not at the gym or at my practices and I'm feeling great so it really depends

    • @shahzebnasir4692
      @shahzebnasir4692 8 лет назад +2

      You do 30 minutes if you're not at practice or the gym... So you do get rest. Also depending on how much you eat, how little stress you have, how little other work you do and how young you are how much rest you need varies

    • @Raniabeautyfashion
      @Raniabeautyfashion 8 лет назад +1

      Shahzeb Nasir that's an active rest because it's steal 30 min of intense exercise. I don't have any REST days when I don't do any workout cardio or strength

    • @Raniabeautyfashion
      @Raniabeautyfashion 8 лет назад +1

      1 have one day of active rest and the other days are 1h30 or 1h intense
