Glad to see a serious modeler who’s not afraid to show the screw ups when they happen, my motto for model railroading is, you’re gonna screw up, you’re gonna break a few models in the beginning, but as long as you learn from it
Bingo! Wouldn't quite call myself a serious modeler though lol, too many get uptight with that title and forget to have fun! These incidents are all a part of creating stuff, but they're fun to show that not everything goes perfect on the cuts we see on video.
Thanks for sharing. This is the first REALITY model railroad video I've seen. The others always seem so perfect. Had one light AHM cattle car that would not stay on track until I glued a one-ounce flat lead fishing sinker inside.
My father has two OS gauge trains that were put on elaborate Christmas display in the 1950s. The Plasticville village was very real to us as small children. Everything was properly done with the two trains until 12th night, when the display was to be taken down until next Christmas. My father had so much fun that night, split-second criss-crossing of the passenger train with the freight train, sometimes deliberately detailing the shorter one, and sometimes putting his head on the tracks to hear his little girls squeal and beg him not to be hurt by the oncoming locomotive. He always pulled away in time, though.
Seriously this feels like a sequel to the bloopers of i love toy trains, and hey technical difficulties in model railroads are like in real life and they do cause "confusion and delay"
I can relate to just about every problem here. “Fantastic” is usually my exact reaction. The pokeball sound got me too. Still haven’t figured out how to fix that issue properly.
Exactly why I put together a video showing off the moments we either laugh about, or wish someone recorded! All of these were unscripted during filming for normal videos.
Out of respect for TM Books and Videos, I chose not to use it in the series. They're a large inspiration for my videos beyond this, and it's a thing that should stick as being part of their work. One day maybe, but for now I'll leave it be.
I'm behind that one, it's based on an actual boxcar with a tag in Sega font, but says something completely different. Flipped the equation around for something a bit more fun!
2:03 I loved that “fantastic”
Defect Detector: “Track 1; No Defects.”

The blue painted Santa Fe unit looks spectacular. Nice
0:39 Guess Sonic wasn't that fast.
Don’t people think that song it is the fastest hedgehog but no didn’t go as fast is it like a train
Freight train
I'm glad I'm not the only one with Passenger and freight cars that randomly jump off the track

I want to get a link to the video of that train at 0:14!
It's a Broadway Limited Paragon 3 SP Daylight AC6000, I did a video a while back after it shipped.
I didn’t see the passenger cars in that video. Do you remember you making a video about it pulling those passenger cars?
AWESOME!!! That 18 wheeler was awesome.
Thanks! It'll be back in some more videos soon..
Love the RC tanker truck !
It's awesome! Built by a friend of mine, should be appearing once more after parts are sourced again.
Oo9uyj
Those hanging coupler airbrake hoses seem to cause a lot of these derailments
love your vids
true i hate when the brake hose catch on the track
i crafty fox! you make the best train crash videos
I often take needle nose pliers and curve them up a little. Then at least they don't snag like this.
Yeah
It wouldn’t be model railroading without technical difficulties!
Mmmmmm, preach.

FP45 and a GP60 painted up in the hybrid Santa Fe / Maresk livery in the late 80s early 90s for promotional reasons.

lol this is pretty good especially the sega car derailment and the drifting railcar meme one xD. Plus really nice job with the sound effects!

The Sega boxcar's derailment made me laugh 😆
SEGAAAAAAAAA
SEGA TRASH
I showed the Sega box car part and my friend act weird :P
0:45. That was the hardest part. Seeing a $40+ USD rolling stock falling off a bridge 😬😱.
That car was a Scaletrains kit picked up for under $20 thankfully lol.

Train derails
This is why I cut off the air hoses of knuckle couplers. They keep getting caught on the sleepers.
"It was time for Thomas to leave, He had seen everything."
0:44 this literally happened at Horseshoe Curve once or twice
2 times or 3
It typically occurs when the train has its lighter stock up front with heavier in the back, or with several light cars between heavy ones.

I love the multi track drifting
The first train, the Santa Fe had blue and silver warbonnets or is it custom painted as a fantasy scheme?
the first fail reminded me of OH NO! Especially that sound effect since it was used in it as well

Was that semi at the end an RC model? If it is, where can I get one
It was an RC build, a friend of mine imported the parts from Europe and built it himself.
@@SCL3618 dang that’s pretty awesome
